Insanely BAD customer service!!! I wanted to pick up a super quick bouquet that I planned on giving as a gift the day after I was in this shop, I chose 3 roses, 3 stems of hypericum (berry looking "flower") It took 10 minutes (literally) for any of the 4 employees to acknowledge my presence ( I was standing right in front of them and there was ONE other customer in the store. He was already being helped). I asked for watertubes (they said no in a round about way, I didn't get them) and some pine. I've worked in flower shops off and on for over 10 years ( the pine should've been complimentary, and I should've received the water tubes I asked for)and the bouquet should've been less than $20. They charged me $25 and weren't even nice about it. The "wrap" job was VERY time consuming and I didn't even ask for it....waste of time and money and what awful, awful customer service.

I have only recently discovered The Dutch Connection and I just love it! They have an absolutely beautiful selection of flowers, plants, pottery and vases -- all in glorious or earthy colors. I appreciated their help as I was looking for pots in which to transplant several of my amaryliis bulbs. Thanks to The Dutch Connection, all of my plants look absolutely beautiful in their new containers.
I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and co-workers, and will be a repeat customer. The service is friendly and they also provide good advice on planting.

I have only recently discovered The Dutch Connection and I just love it! They have an absolutely beautiful selection of flowers, plants, pottery and vases -- all in glorious or earthy colors. I appreciated their help as I was looking for pots in which to transplant several of my amaryliis bulbs. Several months back I bought an 2 outdoor fountains at the Dutch Connection. Returned to the store several days later to make some changes in the delivery date I saw the "floor model:" was gone. I had paid full price for these fountains now with used electric (pump) equipment that had been used for who knows how long. Clerk did not deny this. I said I wanted to return. He made a phone call then came back to tell me that the sales receipt clearly states "store credit only" Much to his surprise I produced the receipt and there was nothing on the receipt about returns. He said he would check into this and call me back. He never called. I filed complaint with my credit card. Now they claim there is a sign in the store (rather than in sales receipt) that says "no refund". They sell used merchendise as new. I am now battling with Visa for refund. Stay away from The Dutch Connection!!! Although a charming store - is only 'skin deep'.

I recently used The Dutch Connection for my wedding flowers.I made my bottom line price very clear at the first meeting with Paula--no matter what, I couldn't spend over $700. Imagine my surprise when the final amount charged to my credit card was almost $100 more!

When I asked Paula about it, she said it was "impossible to know" how much the flowers were going to cost beforehand and that "that's how florist work". She refused to refund anything!! The invoice she sent me as "proof" of this listed all of the prices we initially discussed as "approximate". Very shady.

I used to think people who wrote negative reviews on sites like this were just negative people--then it happened to me. If you use The Dutch Connection, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING FIRST!

I tried twice to work with this florist for my wedding flowers and both times was treated very rudely by the owner Paula. Both times I was a walk in but if they were unable to accomidate a client for a very simple order (one bridal boquet and a boutineer) and unwilling to set up an appointment then I really do not understand how I could work with them. When I asked about a specific flower I was told that she did not like them (orchids) and when I asked for alternatives she showed me an example that was $180. When I asked if she could do something looser and smaller and asked for a price she said she did not work that way. When I asked if I should come back on a better day with some example photos she said I could bring in photos but they are ususally too ugly. At this point I was totally exasperated. I really wanted them to do my flowers but she at no point offered any way for me to work with her. I know people who used her shop 3 or so years ago and report such different experiences and I was really excited to use them - which was why I went back a second time after being treated about as abruptly the first time I walked in. I am so disapointed. At this point I will use another company and suggest that this shop look into hiring someone who can effectively manage sales or customers, Paula obviously cannot.

If you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary or a place that will actually help you pick something out instead of simply pointing to a catalog than this is your place. The selection is as good as it gets and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
