Wheaton Animal Hospital

We take our dog and two cats to Wheaton Animal Hospital and think they are great. We go to Dr. Bennett and she has always been quick to call us back if we have a problem with one of our pets and need fast advice.

Keith is the Mgr of Wheaton Animal Hospital and has totally devoted approximately 20 years to making sure the customers are helped, the animals are cared for and that everything is taken care in the most compassionate, and professional way that anyone possibly can. I have known him for at least 20 years personally and I find that comment totally wrong, uncalled for, and really shows exactly what type of person would say such a nasty thing. To discourage anyone from using this hospital by bashing the Manager is to display a lack of compassion for animals. That was a rotten remark and I hope people consider the source. Sahme on Joon!

I have been to Wheaton Animal Hospital twice with my pet snake and I have no complaints. Dr. Swartz is very knowledgable and excellent with reptiles. The staff has always been very friendly and the waiting room is never crowded. I have also not had to wait long as I am seen by the doctor at my scheduled appointment time.

I took my basenji puppy in to have several things done at once. She needed utd shots, heartworm test and meds and a little bald patch on her thigh looked at. Of those 3 things only one was taken care of-the bald patch. In order to test for heartworm you need to bring in a small sample of feces. So I went out into the backyard, managed to get some in a baggie and carried this gross bag around only to have them not follow up w/ the test or meds. I wasn't completely fed up though-everyone makes mistakes right? So I called back about a month later to schedule a spay appt. They had no records of me ever coming in. They couldn't find anything under my name or hers. So now when I find another vet, which I will definitely be doing, I won't even be able to present them w/ any records of what she's already had done.

I just love the people at Wheaton Animal Hospital. I took my very sick ferret there to be seen by doctor Schwartz and not only was he extremely sincere about the ferret's condition but he was also the first doctor I met who didn't mind spending his time talking to us and explaining what was going on. All the other doctors I've seen before behaved like the world was ending and they had to rush out of the room. Well, not doctor Schwartz; he really takes the time. Moreover, I found the staff to be extremely loving and sweet. Unfortunately, our ferret passed away, so they kept it there for about a week until I could make the arrangements to bury him. When I went there to pick him up, I got very surprised when I saw a beautifully decorated box, with my pet's name and ferret's pictures all over it. It was so sweet that it actually made everything else easier for the day.

I have found that ALL the personnel at Wheaton Animal Hospital have been professional, cordial and loving to my dog. The prices are fair, the conditions clean and comfortable and the staff excellent. Keith is and has always been professional and kind to me and my pet. Angie is polite and thorough as well as being professional. The doctors do their job so very well. I have been so very satisfied with my experience over the last four years with the professionalism of the Wheaton Animal Hospital. Sncerely, Chip and Tyra

I have been taking my animals to Wheaton Animal Hospital for over 15 years and I have always found all of the staff to be highly professional and courteous. Dr. Schwartz has been my main vet for my dogs, rabbits, and now my latest addition Melvin, my cat. The other staff including vets, techs, and those at the reception desk have always been courteous and attentive. I give them all my highest recommendation.

Dr. S at Wheaton is one of the best I've found in the DC area for bird (small to large parrot) care. He is professional, kind, thorough, and always willing to explain things to me and educate me. I even recommend him over other more-specialized avian vets in VA and Baltimore who I've found sometimes aren't as friendly or accommodating to owners wishes or who can be very aggressive to treat when a wait and see attitude could be better -- not to mention they're more expensive, often because they try to push the bill up with unnecessary extras.
(The other poster is very right though... Keith is brusk and can be annoying to deal with.)

I called this animal hospital this morning telling them that I had an emergency with my guinea pig. They did not seem to care at all and said they had no appointment times. I was duly unimpressed and found them to be extremely unaccomodating.

this is the worst animal hospital ive ever been to. the people at the desk are unfriendly and rude at best. you can make an appointment for your dog and when you get there, they refer you to someone else. my dog is 18 yrs old and couldnt eat or drink for 2 days and they tell me its not an emergency and that i should go somewhere else, when i had an appointment. i dont recommend anyone take their pet there because you will receive poor service. the vet dr. schwartz is a great vet, but everyone else there is sub par at best. if you want good service for yourself and your pet, you should not go to wheaton animal hospital.

I am a former employee of Wheaton Animal Hospital and now just a client. I have taken my dog, my bird and my bearded dragon there and have had nothing but the best care you could ask for. They are kind, compassionate and I honestly think Dr. Schwartz is the best doctor in the metropolitan area. He has seen all three of my animals and he has always made the best decisions for us. If you do not currently go here and you love your pet like a part of your family, you should give them the best care available. Go to Wheaton Animal Hospital-I have been on both sides of the counter and know that it is a caring, ethical hospital. I would never go anywhere else.

I was looking at listings of animal hospitals near me and noticed an inappropriate, highly offensive, comment listed by you from a "J Joon" under the evaluation of one of your animal hospitals (I think it was Wheaton Animal Hospital Kensington, Md. (Wash, D. C. area). This person is obviously unworthy of posting a comment on your website. His submission should be beneath your website's standards. His entry should have been checked and eliminated before ever posting it in the first place. The comment is also completely inconsistent with all the other comments about the place.

Just thought you ought to know that your web master is asleep on the job. There's no excuse for publishing crude, illiterate, and offensive comments like that.

Dr Schwartz is a smart man, but Keith is a peice of shit. Id reccommend seeing dr schwartz but i dont think its worth it if you have to go thru keith at all. keith ruins everything.

I met Dr. Schwartz when my parakeet got sick. He is very caring, compassionate, nice. You really feel comfortable. Staff is also very helpful. The hospital is clean and comfortable.

It's the best animal hospital I've ever been to, clean and comfortable. No long waitings, and everyone there is very professional. I took my little katty to there for some health check, before a surgery. People there was trying to answer all my concerns and questions, very knowledgeable.

I have taken several generations of pets to Wheaton Animal Hospital with great success. The lobby is divided into two different sides so cats and dogs can be separate and comfortable if need be. While they sometimes get very busy with all different kinds of animals, the staff is always extremely friendly! One of our previous pets was very ill and required many visits to the vet. They were extremely tender to her and went above and beyond on several occasions fitting her in outside of appointed times. All in all, I highly recommend!
