Stella's Gifts & Bridals

I went to Stella's because they were one of the closest stores that sells dresses by a designer I liked. Unlike some of these other customers, I knew exactly what dress I wanted--it's a less formal wedding dress for a second wedding. The dress was $50 less than I could have gotten it online. I'm glad they sized me--I would have ordered the wrong size. Ms. Helen has been helping me and she reminds me of some of the "aunties" in my family.

I like Stella's. I'm so glad that I don't have to deal with the pretentious snobs that I would have to deal with here in Washington DC. Or pay the prices. I did that the first time at Claire Dratch in Chevy Chase. If you are looking to feel like Princess Di as you plan your wedding, this is not your place. Stella's is how I imagine a "dress shop" from days gone by may have been--not a bridal "salon." I

If you want a good price, shop the internet and go to Stella's with a few dresses that you really like already in mind--designer and dress number, if possible, too. And leave your Bridezilla attitude at home.

My dress came in less than 2 weeks and they called me to tell me so. I'm going for a fitting this weekend. I'll let you know how it all comes out.

I didn't get my bridal gown from this store. I did receive a reference to shop for bridesmaids dresses here. I just want you to know that this store is very unorganized. They sized my girls up so that the dresses came back way to big. With this the alterations were ridiculously priced. Called for an update as to when the dresses were available for final fit. My wedding is June 21st they have a couple of my girls coming in on 16th of June. Think this would stress out a bride. There are better places to go that will make your wedding adventure pleasant.

This was a wonderful experience at Stella's. The staff and owner's went over and above to get our daughters dress in time and altered.
They couldn't have been more helpful.I would reccomend Stella's to everyone. The dress was beautiful and made the day special for us and our daughter. Thanks for all your help

Everybody was so helpful. Ms. Stella and her staff treated me and my bridal party like family. We got what we were promised PLUS MUCH MUCH MORE! Brides to be...It is the best place ever! I can't wait to send them pictures of my wedding day!

When my daughter went here to get her wedding dress they promise you everything if you order from them and they do not deliver. they order all of the bridesmaids dresses 4 sizes to big and then the nasty lady behind the desk had the nerve to say "How Do You Think We Make Our Money" (Alterations) this will cost each person well over $150 plus the cost of the dress and the flower girls dresses were also too big, so this lady is nothing more than a liar and a cheat. she is also the most rude woman not only to her customers but to the lady's that work for her. she will be nice until she gets your deposit then she will screw you over! DO NOT GO to this place or you will regret it ! The staff and seamstress are good but the drill Sergent and her daughter need to learn manners and how to run a business. 3 of the bridesmaids are getting married next year and they are now going somewhere else for their dresses, Stella's lost alot of business!

I just can't say enough about the treatment and service that I received at Stella's. Ms. Chris helped me find the perfect dress and it was a lot less than what I saw it for in other shops. I got my custom made veil for FREE. They had two different headpieces that I really loved. Ms. Chris made one for me that combined the best parts of the two. She really wanted to make me happy. She also made me feel comfortable. She wasn't pretentious or put on airs. I didn;t feel like they were just trying to make a sale. I was very satisfied and would highly recommend the shop to other brides.

I was shopping for a prom dress with my little sister who lives on the eastern shore. She wanted a dress no one else would have so we special ordered it from Stellas. Kee Kee greeted me as soon as a walked in and asked me if I needed any help. She was polite and very helpful. Since my sister could not come with me the first time I went dress shopping because she is on the eastern shore, Kee Kee helped me with ordering the dress my sister wanted. She got my pricing and even talked to my little sister on the phone to get her measurements! Very Helpful! They told me 10 days for the dress and it was there in less than 5. The little old lady was an attitude and tried to convince me to buy off the rack! But she did call me when the dress was ordered AND when it came in! Good Service, but ask for Kee Kee!!!

So I did not get my gown here- Its very difficult to get an idea of what they have- you really have to sift through everything! BUT, I did find all my accessories here. I went to Juliets in Towson looking for a veil and they wanted 350$ for a cathedral length- here it was about 100. I bought a comb here- also great buy, and a slip for under my dress. My advice, go somewhere alittle classier for the dress, but once thats done, come down here for the accessories. You wont find a better deal.

Customer Service is really bad in this store. I'm talking about from 1994. My sister had a wedding in Oct 05. We ordered our brides maid dresses here and mother's dress. It is so true when you walk in people do not acknowledge you. I was picking out and trying on dresses for about an hour before anyone noticed and ask to help. There was one girl name Kee-Kee who was really good. The seamstress was a nice person as well. The older lady that sits behind the counter was a true ***** I dont like to say that about people. She yells at the employees and customers. Then they also try to push other size dresses on you. They told us we had to pay additional money to rush order our dresses, when they originally told us it would be here in time. Dont get me wrong I found a better selection of bridesmaid dresses although i would never get my wedding dress from here. They did have them in bags and some of them looked old and dusty. Shoes and accessories overpriced! Store was also cluttered.

I went to Stella's Bridal on Monday, February 27th. When my mom and I walked in we walked passed two employees who did not say anything to us or to acknowledge our presence. When my mother and I started to touch and look through the gowns, a lady came over to us dressed in jeans, sneakers, and a white shirt with a stain on it. Definitely not the look of an employee of a place that you are about to drop at least a thousand dollars in. She asked us if we had been helped yet. I have to tell you that she was one of the people we passed on our way in. Because the dresses are in bags, yes garment bags, it is very difficult to see the dress full view. Also the store is junky and crammed and crowded so there is no where to try on a dress properly. When I had a few that I wanted to try on, she would not let my mom touch the gowns. She then looked inside all the gowns to check the size. I am a plus size gal and had been trying on dresses that were not my size all day to get a feel for the style. However, she told me that I would bust the zipper of the dress if I tried to get it on. So I am still soooo insulted, I feel I have to tell as many people as I can not to go to Stella's for bridal gowns.

There was another girl who had made the mistake of buying her dress there who waited 20 minutes for anyone to help her too. She had to wait to pick her dress up and then be rushed when she tried it on because there was not enough room for everyone to try on their dresses. They also leave their tags on the dresses where they have crossed out the price, lowered it, then crossed it out and raised it up again.

While there was a large selection I would not recommend anyone go to this place for a dress. The customer service was terrible. The clerk wouldn't let my sister try on certain dresses. It was unbelievable. I actually bought my dress here, and they didn't even call me when it came it. When I called to check if the dress was in the woman on the phone said that they would've have called if the dress was there. My dress was there, and no one called me!!! I would never give this place my business again.

this store offers a wide variety of bridesmaids dresses, prom dresses, and wedding gowns as well as many accessories. I definately do not recommend going for wedding help during prom season. it is just too crowded, however, the store is much larger than it appears from the street. street parking usually available.
