Fantastic service and value for the money.
My Wife and I drive all the way from Frederick County Md. over 40 Minutes to Town and Country animal clinic!
We have a brand new, huge animal hospital facility less than one mile from our home but we chose Dr. Walker and her staff.

For the simple fact, when it comes to the health and care of our pets we want the absolute best we can find.

We believe she is the best!

The cost is reasonable but then again we have trupanion animal insurance.

Their office offers true care and concern every time we visit them.
Most reviews I give are ones of poor service, to go out of my way to highly recommend a Company they would have to go above and beyond.

This practice does just that!

Thank you very much for giving my little guy the best care!

I was treated horribly by every staff member I came into contact with. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. The staff is rude and it's quite clear they couldn't care less about my animals.

I could not believe my eye's when I read the article in DVM360 !!! I know this is not a review, but I could not find an e-mail, so I am sending it this way. I have worked at a vet clinic for 8+ yrs., and 4 yrs. ago, I started having ALL the symptom's described in the article about Bartonella. I was hospitalized with severe headache, fatigue, etc. a spinal tap was even done to rule out meningitis. I was started on heavy IV antibiotics, broad spectrum, upon admission to the hospital, and ALL testing came back negative. A horse in an adjoining field had been diagnosed with West Nile, so the assumption was, that I could have possibly contracted WN. That test was also neg.! I to have had every diagnosis from fibromyalgia, rhuem. arthritis, depression, migraines, etc.I told my Dr. that I seemed to feel better when on antibiotics.... which I thought was very strange, but I had no idea why! There is not enough ibuprophen, Tylenol, etc. in the world to combat this pain, and I was finally prescribed Norco, and muscle relaxers. This is no way to live! PLEASE inform me of how to contact Dr. Breitschwerdt, I think this could change my life, or at least answer the question, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?"" So tired of trying to explain this... Thank You... Lori

I would not recomment this vet to anyone I know. I love my dog very much, as do most people. I felt very uncomfortable, judged and mistreated at Olney Town And Country Animal Clinic. I was only scheduled a total of 3 times with Dr. Wendy Walker. From the very beginning I was put off by her attitude towards my dog and her rude comments about him. I know my dog's teeth need cleaned but when a vet-tech walks in the room and says right out "ew, that's disgusting", that is NOT my idea of professionalism, especially in a place that charges as much as they do. I've heard good things about Dr. Moran but as for the staff/vet--techs and Dr. Walker, I will pass. I left each time feeling frustrated, angry, completely offended and ripped off. Today was my first visit at a different vet and I feel so much better knowing I never have to take my dog back to Dr. Walker or her rude staff, ever again.

We have been clients to T&C for 34 years. Dr. Walker and Dr. Moran have cared for our variety of pets. Over the years we have owned horses, dogs, cats, 2 ferrets and a goat. Needless to say they know our family, they have always been compassionate and caring. It's wonderful to know they are there!!!!!!

This is a really terrific veterinary clinic. The staff at front desk and vet techs are all super professional and friendly. They always try and help if they can. Dr. Walker and Dr. Moran are very thorough and knowledgable and explain things in detail. They try and fit in emergencies as needed whereas most vet clinics won't even try if they are too short on time. It's a very open, relaxed atmosphere and a very safe parking lot area for pets. Great hours as well. I really feel like this clinic goes the extra mile for their clients. I've compared them to many other vets in this area as I do animal rescue and have used many vets for our animal rescue work, and I do think Town and Country stands out in a crowded field.

ok care but outrageously expensive.... They charged me $48 for a generic med that I could get online for 0.60 cents. No matter what the issue is with my cat I always walk out with at least a $100 bill.

Business Response:

Thank you Thank you for taking the time to express your concern over the cost of medication. While we do know that some costs will be more expensive then other online pharmacies we are able to pass on the manufactor guarantee which gives the pet owner & us the peace of mind that the pet is receiving the correct medication which is needed. Next time please feel free to check out our online store where we are able to offer lower prices on food, supplies, and medication. T&C

My most recent visit to T&C with Dr Walker was wonderful. I found a stray cat at my work who had a large wound on her side. Since there was no way of telling whether she had been bitten or not, we did quarnatine her for the state/county required timeline. Dr. Walker not only took time to examine the cat but explained the process the in detail. Everyday during the quarnatine Dr Walker or one of the techs would call to check on her.
I recommend Town and Country to everyone that asks me and have always had a pleasant experiences. These negative reviews have taken me completely by surprise. Eventhough I have moved further way I still make the trip for all of my animals care.

Dr. Lianides is the best vet you could ask for. She really loves animals and has a gentle way with them. She gives you options, but will always guide you to the best decisions for your puppy. Dr. Li has also stayed late on several occasions when my puppy had an emergency. She never grumbles and always greets you with a smile. She always takes the time to explain everything to you. While she only works at Town and Country a few days a week (Mon, Tues, and I think Wed?) she is the best vet you could ask for!

The reviews in here are pretty spot on, even the negative ones. I use Dr. Moran. She does genuinely seem to love animals and has good "bedside manner" with them. And Linda, the vet assistant there is excellent with animals. The reviews about Dr. Walker are dead on unfortunately. I had her once when I forgot to ask to schedule with Dr. Moran. Dr. Walker is very terse, curt, and generally not a nice person to deal with. You get the feeling you are greatly inconveniencing her just by being there and she rushes through the visit as quickly as possible, shaking her head and grumbling to herself. My dog went in because she was all of sudden less active and wouldn't climb stairs. Within 2 minutes of feeling her back Dr. Walker tells me my dog has degenerative disk disorder and gives me a mountain of pain killers and tells me she has to be strictly confined for a month. I'm not a vet, but I don't know how you can diagnose that without any x-rays to be able to tell if it a "disk disorder" or if the dog just hurt herself. Preferring not to unnecessarily medicate, I didn't give my dog any pain killers and by the next morning she was jumping around like nothing happened. So it seemed very likely she just hurt herself. I will never schedule with Dr. Walker again. As far as costs, they are expensive and running a business so they will try to up sell you a bit. I think they are on the more expensive side, even for the D.C. metro area but it is not by that much and I like Dr. Moran and Linda.

I bought an AKC Boxer in October of 2008 with the plans of showing her. I cropped her ears, put her through basic training and she was to begin show classes in June. In March she broke out in a horrible skin condition that turned out to be Mange. My dreams of BEST IN SHOW were crushed in one office visit I was truly hurt by this finding. Dr Walker took my puppy under her care. She gave Sade a special kind of bath each week for six weeks, combined with antibiotics and special love and care.Today you would not know of her Mange unless I told you.If you want the best for your companion Dr Walker's combination of Knowledge , Expierence and true love for animals should be considered in choosing the right Vet. I want to thank The Front Desk Staff Team for all of their support. They even made special arrangements for me to drop off Sade before they open at 8:00am to enable me to not loose time from my job.Be assured that when you enter Town and Country you will be greeted by Polite, Efficient and true animal lovers.

I disagree with the reviews. I take my cats there because it is close to my home and therefore convenient. I like my cats and I am a caring and pet compassionate owner, but I do not think my world revolves around my cats, therefore, I rather have someone knowledgeable and efficient. The staff is neither caring nor rude, just regular staff who treat you with some level of courtesy, some are better than others.
I have never felt that the charges have been outrageous or been charged for anything that I did not authorize. The fees are ones that one would expect from any veterinary clinic in the greater DC metro area.

Dr. Walker has been our family vet since the late 70s (yes, over 30 years!). She has cared for everything from all of our dogs (pure bred to mutt), cats, hamsters, and at one time our horses. Not only has she cared for our pets but also those of many other family members through the years.

Dr. Walker is the best diagnostician that I have ever met. She has accurately determined illnesses in a couple of our dogs that otherwise may have gone unnoticed. Her compassion and care are the best and we have always highly recommended her to everyone, including local rescue groups.

I don't know what we would have done without all of her medical expertise over the past 30+ years!

Town and Country Animal Clinic is one of the best veterinary clinics around. I had tried 3 other clinics, all which were closer to home, before finding Town and County. I have been with Town and Country for over 9 years. All of the doctors at this clinic are very good. I prefer Dr. Wendy Walker because I think she is one of the best diagnosticians in the area. I had a large breed show dog and I used Dr. Walker as my primary vet throughout his life. Dr. Walker was able to perform two very difficult surgeries on him, as well as diagnose a rare form of cancer and recommend treatment in a timely manner, extending his life for many months. She is caring, considerate and takes the time to answer questions. She has many connections around the country and if she does not know the answer to something, she will use those connections to get an answer. I currently have 3 dogs and many cats. I spend a lot of time at the clinic. Both Dr. Heidi Heller and Dr. Sara Moran are also very capable, kind, caring and take time to talk to you about your pet. The staff is very pleasant, caring, and considerate. I really can't say enough good things about Town and Country. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who has a pet and wants the best care at reasonable prices.

My wife and I are clients of Town and Country Animal Clinic for over ten (10) years. Wendy Walker, DVM, is the primary care veterinarian for our nine (9) cats and four (4) dogs. Our canines include three (3) large breed Leonbergers we brought back from France and Bavaria. We have also relied on Dr. Walker's talented colleagues, Sara Moran and Heidi Heller, DVMs.

Our experience at T&C has been and continues to be overwhelmingly positive. Dr. Walker is an accomplished seasoned veterinarian with relentless diagnostic skills and critical contacts both in the larger practicing veterinary and collegiate research communities. She is an acknowledged expert in tick borne diseases. And she is active in a myriad of professional and civic endeavors.

Dr. Walker was instrumental in working with both the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and SouthPaws Veterinary Referral Center in diagnosing an unusual and eventually terminal disease in our oldest and beloved Leonberger ?? Rembrandt. The expertise, commitment, kindness and comfort demonstrated by Dr. Walker and her staff were unparalleled and are thankfully remembered to this day.

Dr. Walker, along with Drs. Moran and Heller, has successfully and respectfully served the needs, routine and otherwise, of our other feline and canine family members. Our experience with the caring and thoughtful staff at T&C has also been overwhelmingly positive.

We are very pleased clients of T&C with a long history of experiences to draw on. We are thankful to everyone at T&C for their professional commitment and presence in our community. We commend T&C to you as we have successfully done with many others.

As a postscript to this review, I note that a minority of other reviewers have taken T&C to task citing variously to ??Karen? (not Wendy) Walker; offensive, hurtful and unnecessary purely personal comments regarding one staff member; and the costs of veterinary care. The inaccurate reference to Dr. Walker and, particularly, the personal comments regarding the staff member reflect poorly on the authors of those reviews.

More importantly, the reality is that ensuring quality routine and diagnostic medical care for a feline or canine family member comes at a price as it does for any family member. T&C's rates reflect market averages. Insurance is available to offset some of the costs of that medical coverage. It is one of many questions a prospective pet owner should ask themselves - "can I afford to care for a prospective family pet in good times and bad?"

I first went to Town and Country because the breeder of my Siamese cats used the clinic. I have never been disappointed in the care my animals have received. Over the years, I have had several foster cats with a wide variety of ailments (some very strange and hard to diagnose). Dr. Moran has always taken the time and energy to "get to the bottom" of the problem. If a cat is not diagnosed and cured, they will never find a forever home. I have seen the other two vets, and they are very competent. Because the cats are fosters, I appreciate the fact that fees are within my budget. All staff know me by my first name, and I am greeted as a friend and animal lover. I have recommended this clinic to most of the people who adopt cats, and I have received no negative feedback.

I have been going to Town and Country for over six years and have always found that the staff and doctors are kind and professional. I have witnessed many clients come in and be rude and treat the staff and doctors as if they are not a true doctors office but a public service. Of course prices will rise with each coming year, what business does not do that. As for some of these reviews I know that there is not a Shannon working there and Dr. Walker's name is Wendy not Karen. If a client wants to review a business they should get their facts straight. And as for the complaint of signing a consent form with out reading it and then being upset with paying the fees....you should read anything before you sign it. I have filled those consent forms out before and found them easy to understand and the staff available to answer any questions. I highly reccomend this clinic and feel disappointed that they have been unjustly described, especially commenting on someone's weight.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Wendy Walker since the late '70s. The care my dogs have received has always been excellent, and Dr. Walker is a great, no-nonsense vet. Once when I brought in my adorable but headstrong Aussie puppy, she told me I'd either have to show him who's boss or get him a flock of sheep. To show me how to use a specific type of collar on him so I could gain control over him, she actually took us outside in the back during our appointment and demonstrated the use of the collar with my puppy. She has called me following surgeries or special care to make sure my dog is doing well. I've used other vets when outside the area, and no one has compared. I like the way Dr. Walker interacts with me -- she talks to me like an intelligent friend and explains everything.

I have been going to Town and Country since 1996. Dr. Sara Moran is the best ever! She tries hard to be reasonably priced and make suggestions of non-prescription medications that may be less expensive and more easily accessible. She lovingly "put down" my 16-year-old dying doxie, while I stroked and talked to him. She is a "commonsense" vet. My pets love Dr. Moran! (My daughter drives her pets over from Arlington, VA, because she likes Town and Country and Dr. Moran that much!)I like the rest of the staff also. No complaints. I understand that some people find Dr. Wendy Walker a bit abrasive, but she is competent and loves her animals. (There are some other newer vets there, but I have never seen them.) I always ask for Dr. Moran because her commonsense style is in harmony with my philosophy.

I have been going to Town and Country since 1987 when I adopted my first dog. My vet is Dr. Moran and she is a caring, compassionate, knowledgeable doctor and wonderful lady. If my dog is ill, she will check them thoroughly and do what is necessary to make them well again. At the same time, she makes suggestions to other treatments available, if need be. I say this to say that she doesn't try to get me for all my money at an emotional time yet she is realistic. At the current time, I drive approximately a half hour to this vet when there are nearby vets only 5 minutes away. I have total trust in Dr. Moran and won't see anyone else.

Karen Walker, DMV is terse, uncaring and terrible with animals.
I was charged for services that I didn't authorize as well.

Dr. Walker should only be allowed in a lab!!!

this vet clinic is one of the best ive been to. they're desk staff was very unplessent, but dr.Walker and the other doctors have always given me more than enough opportunities to ask questions and have always given me straight forward answers. I would deffinityly roccomend this clinic.

Dr. Walker at the Town & Country Animal Clinic is hot tempered and not very friendly. I have a shitzu who doesn't bite but can get aggressive when he is scared. Dr. Walker and her assistant put so much restraint on him that he went poo poo even though he already went right before his appointment. Then Dr. Walker said that my dog was" full of himself" and she huffed and puffed, shaking her head. This doesn't sound like an animal loving vet, does it? They tried to put a muzzle on his short little snout that didn't even fit and her assistant who weighs about 300lbs puts her body weight on top of my little dog. My dog is now lying on his bed since the other day and looks depressed. Other vets, let me calm my dog and take their time but Dr. Walker is quick to go through the exam as fast as she can that she wouldn't even allow my dog to clam down. To make matters worse, I was charged $22 for a feces analysis only because it was there since the restraint made him go when I never asked for me. I came in for a health certificate and ended up walking out paying over $200.00. Last time, I brought my dog to Town & Country, the same thing happened and it was Dr. Walker again.. I felt rushed, she never let me ask questions or bother to answer them and I walk out with a FAT bill. The other staff, vet, and front desk are friendly but Dr. Walker should just stick to horsebreeding. I will never go there again.

I have been a client for over 18 years. I have an active cattery, showing and breeding Siamese. The veterinarians always give of their expertise and caring without exception.

PROS: Dr. Walker and Dr. Moran are thoroughly up to date and professional.
CONS: None that I can think of.

I've been taking my pets to Town & Country Animal Clinic for about 10 years and have always been impressed with the care that they have been given. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate. The DVM's are first class and the recent renovations to the facility are wonderful.
