I went to this dealership because I needed a car urgently. Because it was urgent, I had stretched my budget for the Honda Accord I needed for commute. The front-line staff were really aggressive from the very get-go. They lied to me about

Combine arrogance, incompetence, and exorbitant prices -- and you have a good description of their service department. I went there to get a new key; the old one broke, and the remote no longer opened the door. They charged me almost $200

I searched the internet for information about Maryland Honda dealers. The vast majority of reviews about Ourisman were negative. As I had a lot of time, I contacted them via internet to initiate communication and visited the dealership last Saturday. Amazingly, the negative reviews were accurate. These people play all the games - expensive dealer add-ons, low-balled trade-in values, turn-over sales tactics, extremely high pressure to force the customer to "buy today", explanations which changed every few minutes, on and on and on. The dingy facility is tucked into a corner in downtown Bethesda, unlike any dealer I have seen. The employees seemed universally unhappy, I did not see many smiles. Ourisman did not seem to be a pleasent place to buy a car. The pressure to get me to buy that day was overwhelming. I did not buy and, based on this visit, would not buy from Ourisman. Having bought four Honda vehicles in Maryland over the past five years, I am certain a much better price and, certainly, a much better buying experience can be found at other local Honda dealers - Sport, Hersons, Criswell, and Pohanka to name several.

Recently (3/10) I visited Ourisman to see about a new CRV. I had never read any reviews so I had no idea what to expect. All the bad things stated in the reviews are, sadly, true. This is simply the worst dealership I have ever encountered, in more than 30 years. These guys lie, lie and then lie even more. If you do go, don't forget to check out the addendum attached to every vehicle. An addendum for $800 for a bunch of crap (door guards, fender guards, mud guards, wheel locks, and nitrogen all for the wonderful price of $800. Subsequently, I checked the retail price for these Honda products. The retail price totalled $262 for all these items and they were easily found for a combined online price of $184. I guess at Ourisman the cost of a bit of nitrogen is more than $500, isn't air already about 80% nitrogen?) Then pay attention when they lowball your trade. I never got to the finance office, which I imagine would be a real fun time. Also, the facility is dirty, gloomy as are the employees. In my case I simply left and visited a dealer in the Rockville/Germantown area and purchased a nice CRV for thousands less than the bandits at Ourisman were looking for. Do yourself a favor, avoid these guys at all cost, the only thing you can achieve is to save some money.

The service department is dishonest and overcharges for their work - this is typical of dealers but Ourisman is very close to crossing the fraud line. The service dept. told me that both of my front CV joints were worn and needed to be replaced and quoted me $1460.00. The same day, I took my car to 2 other non-dealer auto mechanics, and called a third. The 2 others who looked at my car questioned why Ourisman wanted to replace both joints when only one was damaged/worn and all three businesses quoted much less for parts and labor, $190, $215 and $250 respectively. I purchased my vehicle from the Ourisman in Laurel in 2004. After the purchase, the staff their was so rude that I started to bring it to Bethesda Ourisman for servicing. Now, in wake of the bad economy, its very obvious how Ourisman is making up their lack of revenue from new car sales. Consumer Beware and Be informed.

I shopped around at dealerships looking for the best price. Saw bad reviews for this place, but they were so close I thought I'd just give them a call. They swore they could go lower than the best offer I had received. The dealership I had been working with warned me that that they would change things around when I got there. Which is EXACTLY what happened. It was ridiculous. At first all smiles and complements, then "Special packages", "let me go talk to my manager", "wait! wait! I can throw something else in!" " you'll have to pay that fee at every dealership. (not true)." Don't believe anything they promise you over the phone.

I too came in ready to buy and they revised the deal after I made 100% sure about the pricing before coming in. They really tried screwing it to me since it is a common psychological buying tactic since I already made the decision to purchase prior to coming in. They know that the odds are good you'll purchase the car anyway. So I walked out and purchased the car that I wanted about a couple hours away and saved $2,500. Be smart and don't let them rob you!

I conducted all my negotiations with them via email and I was prepared with a check when I entered their dealership at 8:00 pm on a weekday. I used their internet department and had negotiated over phone email everything, including a 99 dollar paper processing fee. When we arrived, we were surprised that they did not have the van in the color we requested in stock. We had been told that they had it. Secondly, when we sat down with them, suddenly there was a $1700 accessories fee though I had asked them over phone and email to name the best price and that's what I would be prepared to pay. We were ready to buy the van within a day of contacting them as we weren't in the mood to negotiate long and just wanted no hassle. The real surprise was when the salesman we were talking to left after he surprised us with the 1700 fee and came back with the sales manager who want to negotiate. At that point - it was past 9 dealership was closed and we had a 45 minute drive back home - I was prepared to walk out. He tried every tactic to not let us walk out...everytime I physically got up (I got up 3 times), he would cajole us to sit and hear him out. Then he got very abusive towards the end and finally we were out of there at 9:30 pm with a bad taste in the mouth. We would have been prepared to negotiate *BEFORE* we got there via email/phone with our check in hand. It was low to try to negotiate after giving us the final "drive off" price and then browbeat us to stay and argue for an hour over $1700 bucks. If you read this Ourisman sales dept., some people just don't have the time and will walk out if you give them nonsense. Give the full price when people ask for it as the final price, and that's what people will be prepared to pay. If you expect to have someone purchase from you quickly forthright, direct pricing information will get the deal done.

In less then two weeks of owning our brand new 2008 Honda Odyssey minivan, it (a) was taken back twice to Ourisman Honda for the continuous leaking of Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), (b) had a remote starter system installed and then removed due to Ourisman??s installation of a clearly incompatible aftermarket product, and (c) was brought into Hersons for a thorough re-inspection because of our lack of faith in Ourisman Honda??s service. After 6 days worth of ??repairs? at Ourisman??s service department, Hersons came to the conclusion within a few hours that the Odyssey??s transmission issues were *not* fixed, and that the van in fact had major transmission damage (bear in mind, this was a van with well under 200 miles on it). All told, in less then two weeks of ownership, the Odyssey was in for service seven days. After much despair, countless phone calls and letters, and all the aforementioned service visits, Ourisman very grudgingly agreed to replace the van, but only after Hersons and Honda of America also became actively involved in our case.

A day after we took possession of the *new* van, we discovered a dent which had either been missed, or just went undisclosed, by Ourisman Honda. And that almost covers our horrific saga of blatant deceipt and incompetence by Ourisman Honda?

Now fast forward more then two months, and BOTH VINs are still on file in our name at the Maryland MVA. So we're pretty concerned that legal issues may arise for us if the original van is used in a crime, receives parking tickets, etc.

Seriously, I cannot stress it enough - STAY AWAY, FAR FAR AWAY.

This honda dealership has a good number of new and pre-owned vehicles on their inventory. I was looking for pre-owned and I was impressed. They always have a good list of Accord,Civic Odyssey, Accura available. This dealership is really different because they do not Increase the price and label it. They have a price which very well goes with Kellys blue book value. So they are not ready for bargains like other dealershiip. I think they are fair and they also have a internet special which can be found on their website.
