Bushwaller's

Guinness and Smithwick on tap, darts, good food music. They don't pretend to be anything more than a casual Irish pub. Great place to unwind. Hard to miss the contrast between Bushwallers and Volt right across the street which is also awesome but belongs to a totally different universe.

While yes, it's a bit of a dive bar, I think Bushwallers is a nice place. My husband and I spent a nice night in downtown Frederick at Bushwallers not too long back. We had a nice relaxing night. We used a gift card from restaurant.com which made our meal even less. The meal itself was very good, and the waitress was great also. We didn't stay for music, but a band was setting up as we were leaving. We will certainly go back sometime!

This place is a real dump, even by the lowered standards one needs to go out on the town in Frederick. Try to remember the worst place you've ever been, and then try to think of some place even worse. This is worse than that second worser place.

The outside looks decent, the inside a little less. However the drinks are good, the people are friendly, and the food is pretty damn good if i must say so myself. Not a fancy bar or a place to take your 1st date but a good time any day of the week.

PROS: Good drinks, good food, friendly staff
CONS: Slightly trashy, not a five star bar

Bushwallers looks like a dive on the outside, and in face, on the inside too. But this restaurants humble environs are no indication of the quality of the food. The mussel appetizer is extraordinary, and the shepherds pie is the best Ive had outside of Boston. And yes, the taps here are clean- no tinny flavored Guinness.
