I wish I would have read the reviews before making an appointment and going to this place. We never saw the doctor as we cut our visit short due to the unprofessional receptionist at the front desk. The minute we walked in the door we were greeted with nothing but attitude. While filling out the paperwork we could hear her making rude comments about how annoying the children were that were playing with the toys in the waiting area, isn't that what they put them there for? One of the other reviews hit it on the head, its like we were bothering her. We got up and told them we were canceling our appointment and proceeded to leave the office. The huge attitude behind the desk continued her unprofessionalism by making comments to the other office worker before I had even walked out the door. I would not recommend this place to anyone until they get some new employees in there that actually act like they care about their job and the people who come there seeking medical assistance for their children. If the doctor cares about his/her practice then they should do something before they loose more patients.

This office makes A LOT of mistakes. Make sure you double check the vaccines they are giving your child. The office staff is extremely difficult, they are rude and frankly, lazy! Even when I put in and paid to transfer my children out, it took them almost 1 month to get it together. Unless you personally know a doctor there you can trust, go elsewhere!

I went to Frederick Pediatric Associates after a family friend referred me to their Ballenger Creek office...I have twins and wanted a practice with several offices and flexible hours. I was taken back on time and the staff who greeted me was great! All of my questions were answered including some of which my previous dr did not discuss with me. So far I have see nurse practitioners and have not been dissappointed. Im glad I was referred to this office. I will definitely stay here for years to come!

I have seen 4 of the doctors and 1 nurse practioner. The first was OK, for our 1 week check up post-birth. Nothing stands out as exceptional or negative from that experience. I was still recovering from birth & not feeling that well.. Plus first child so I did not know what to expect. I guess I am still going thru the first child experience so I can only report on how I have felt during the process.
Pros - ease of appointments, lots of locations, lots of doctors, saturday hours, walkin sick hours, take most insurances.
Cons - communication between patient & dr is poor, major factory feel, misinformation given to me on more than one occasion then when I question matter I am told I am wrong or misunderstood (wish I had a recorder!). Little information given on child's overall development unless you ask for specifics. ie: growth chart analysis, dietary needs, breastmilk intake.
My cousin has twin boys 2 months younger and their Dr seems so involved and full of advice, information and gives them overall on what is normal, what they need to work on and what to expect for next visit. I have NEVER received any of this information at Frederick Pediatrics. They only examine, give shots, answer any questions I bring to the appt then send me to pay copay.

I started taking my daughter to this practice b/c my family has been using them for over 28 years. No one has ever said anything bad about the care that they had been given so I said we would go there as well. I drive 35-45 minutes each time I take her to the doctors but when I get there they always smile at us and greet us with warm welcomes. Nurse Practitioner Cornwell is the BEST, we have been seeing her since Birth and my daughter LOVES her, she made every visit fun and I have never seen a child that likes to go to the doctors office. Even when she has to get shots, she is very happy and knows that they are not going to hurt her. I would tell everyone to give this office a try and they will LOVE IT TOO!!!!

I have been coming to Frederick Pediatric Associates practice for the last 5 years. The doctors actually listen to you and provide a warm personal touch during each visit. They even have a very useful new website

We have been coming to this office for 9years. The providers are wonderful to my kids. The nursing staff is very helpful when we have questions. The front staff is helpful with referrals and appointments. They have walk in hours between 8-9am. and open to 7pm. As a working mother that's very helpful to have late hours.

I have been bringing my son to them since birth also, and was pleased with them until the age of 3 years old. I have decided to switch pedi's for several reasons. One being the office staff is not very friendly, when you check in you are met by this unsmiling woman, who seems to act as if you are a bother. Second, they never truly diagnose the problem from the start and only interested in handing out prescriptions for antibiotics. It appears to be an assembly line procedure, get em' in and out. And that will be a $20 copay, thank you. Oh, and by the way, lets do a follow-up appt. next week so you can pay another $20.

I have never had a bad experience in the 8 years I have been bringing my twins to this practice! The doctors always take time to answer all of my questions and explain problems so that I can understand. Even though they now have about 10 providers I never feel like my children don't matter. I have even had a provider (who I wasn't seeing that day) stop me in the hall and ask how little James or Amy was doing, with genuine concern. And as for the office staff...Awesome is the best way I can describe them. The secretaries and nurses are always professional and courteous even when they are busy. I recommend this practice to everyone who has kids!

I agree with the other reviews. They really don't have a clue and don't care about these kids. My poor child is now suffering because when we asked over and over what was wrong with our little girl, they told us it was nothing and it would go away. She is now dealing with a horrible condition that, if diagnosed early, could have been stopped. Recently we asked about another ailment and this time asked for them to do the research since they couldn't figure out what was wrong. It's now been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive a phone call. This is now the 2nd time I have had to rely on webmd do diagnose my child myself. I guess this now makes me a physician. What are these guys getting paid to do anyway?

I have been taking my daughter here since she was 2 and they are wonderful! She is now 17 and I have not switched her to a general practice because I like this office and the drs, nurses, staff there so much. I've often said I wish I could find a general doc for me that I liked as well. When we have had a rare problem with a doctor over the years, I have complained, and they don't keep bad doctors there very long. I would reccommend this office to anyone with children. Very happy with them.

I started taking my son to this practice since birth. At 3 months they diagnosed him with acid reflux and gave zantec. I started really questioning the diagnoses and stopped the medicine, he didn't have acid reflux but a touch of colic. He is allergic to amoxicillin, which is noted on the file however the nurse practioner proceeded to write a presscription for same type of antibiotic when they determined he may have a kidney/unrinary infection via dip test. They lost the urine sample after doing the dip test so no culture test done. I had to get an ultrasound done. Went back because he had symptoms of croup. Physcian asst sent us home saying its just allergies however when I took back to see a doctor, she verified it was croup. I paid for 2 visits for no reason except incompetence. I never get calls back from any test results or lab work. I have to do all follow up. Also, why am I paying rate of a doctor when they send a PA or NP? I make appts to see a doctor not a PA or NP and they don't let you know you're not seeing a doctor. They do not listen to parents and assume because we don't have an MD, we don't know when there's something not right with our kids. They DO NOT like being questioned on their diagnoses. I have switched doctors and wouldn't recommend this practice to my worst enemy.

I have two small children. Honestly, their job is to take care of the kids....and in my case they have done a good job. But, I stopped taking my kids there because I did not care for the attitudes of some of the people behind the desk and some of the nurses assistants. Bedside manner is very important and my husband and I think that they need improvment. I frankly, take my kids now to Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and they are AWESOME. Right off of TJ Drive, they actually TALK to you, smile at you and are friendly. The best office I have ever or will ever go to. The best doctors and the best care.

We brought our child there thinking the hours are better, i.e. they have Saturday appointments. However, my child was prescribed antibiotic that induced big problem. Then we read the medicine, and it was clearly labeled as not suitable to children who are suffering from allergy in general. Apparently the doctor never bother to read medicine labels. When I read the previous review, it almost looked like our story. I even asked my wife whether she wrote that. Of course she didn't.

They were recommended to me due to the hours which I can't lie are very convenient. However, I took my daughter 3 were horrible! What made the matter worse my husband takes her in and they prescribe an antibiotic which she is allergic to. When I question the nurse she just says "oh my God" after I said did the doctor even bother to look at her chart for allergies. Then takes an entire business day to call in the pharmacy. In short I would NOT take my child there again or send another parent!

PROS: hours
CONS: too many doctors no familiarization with patient

This is a great practice! They were recommended to me by a co-worker and we couldn't be happier with them. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They have convient hours -including walk-in hours. It is a large practice with many Doctors from which to choose. We've seen several different doctors since we started taking my son there a year ago and all have been very good. We've never had to wait more than a 5-10 minutes to see a doctor. Of course, if there is a doctor you really like, you can ask to see them every time you make an apointment..

PROS: Friendly, helpful, convenient hours

Doctor Graham is a great doctor. I have been using him for 7 years and couldn't be happier. He continuously goes out of his way to take care of his patients. The office staff is also helpful, and have gone above and beyond several times for me.

They have a lot of doctors here and they have walk in hours that are very convenient for those who work. They also have an ADHD doctor in house so you don't have to be referred elsewhere for specialized care. Everyone is very nice there and the doctors all seem very caring and competent. I've never had a bad experience.

PROS: Nice Professional Convenient
CONS: Lots of Doctors and Clinic Type Atmosphere

Both my children go to this office. They have walk in hours from 8 to 9 am Monday through Friday. There are many doctors in the practice, but they are all kind and caring. The nurses are especially wonderful and have never laughed at me when I called with one of my many silly questions. They have also dealt with insurance issues for me without complaint. I would reccomen them to anyone looking for a diverse practice.

PROS: Walk in hours
CONS: Many doctors- your child may see a different doctor everytime
