.

Willow Street is a wonderful place to both learn yoga and to develop your yoga skills. This family run business (Suzie Miller, the owner, as well as two of her children both teach here) has grown considerably in recent years, in terms of amount of students and numbers and types of classes available. The Takoma location (there is another in Downtown Silver Spring on Fenton Ave) has three big studios and classes going on pretty much throughout the day each day of the week. They have classes in Anusara yoga all the way up to level three, as well as breathing classes, classes for kids, and classes for people with special needs. There are a lot of different teachers and of the four that Ive personally had (Kate, Sherri, Moses and Joe) all are extremely friendly, good teachers. Of course they each have their quirks and perks, but it is easy to stop in and test out different teachers at Willow Street. They also offer drop-ins for $20 if you arent taking a class during the session. It isnt so badly priced (about $15 a class for a 12 week session) and it is definitely a better way to learn yoga than just stopping in at the YMCA. They also have discounts for friends who register, for students and for seniors.
