This is one of the worst recruiters I've been to. When I went there, I was told to take several tests to prove my skill. Being a multimedia designer, Adobe Creative Suite would be included. I told them I know flash, but they decided that it would not be worth their time for me to take that test. I insisted, and I passed much to their amazement. After several weeks of them struggling to find me a job, I got one--40+ miles away. I reluctantly accepted this contract to hire position. One day I was driving home when my recruiter called and said "Oh no one told you? Today's your last day." I was halfway home at this point so naturally I was pissed that I had to turn around to get me things.

About 2 months later they called me and I said I had found a full time position as a web designer on my own. Instead of a "congratulations," my recruiter said "really? how'd that happen?" Years later I was told that recruiter was no longer with them so I gave them another chance. Every job I've applied for with them or they "sent out" my info to I've heard absolutely no feedback. Not even a "hey they're not interested." In fact one time they wanted to send me to a company and another recruiter wanted to send me to the same company. After talking with this new recruiter and company I realized that Boss NEVER sent my info!

These guys are inept, unprofessional, and uncaring. It worries me that the recruiters here have absolutely no faith in their artists skills. Don't waste your time with them!

Boss Staffing used to be the place to go if you needed design work and wanted a temp to hire situation.

Now they are "The Boss Group" and despite the spiffy new name change are still incapable of telling talent what they will be doing. For example, a simple 8 hour quark job becomes a 3 hour MS word job. Or even better, a Photoshop gig turned out to be me training a recent college grad on how to use Photoshop. The client actually said as soon as they felt the clueless dolt was "up to speed" they'd be letting me go.

In Boss's defence, they do pay well, when you actually get work.

This is an agency for creative people: writers, designers, etc. When I went to speak with them, everyone was pleasant and promised they had lots of openings for someone with my experience. They would be in touch with me whenever they had an opening. I took a series of writing and editing tests and received a phone call a week later about a possible position. I took yet another editing test supplied by the employer. Boss called me back to tell me I had scored very well and they would set up an interview with the company. After that, I never heard from them again.
