I lived in Salisbury several years ago, I often ate at Red Door Sub Shop and was always impressed with the clean shop and the friendly atmosphere. I recently was in Salisbury and, out of all the wonderful places to eat, decided to go to the Sub Shop once again. It was totally different! Not that they weren't friendly, but indifferent. I noticed that many of the customers who came in AFTER I did went right up to the pickup side and ordered from there, obviously knowing the ones who were preparing the subs and obviously didnt have to wait at all. It was just so obvious! I ordered a sub with everything on it.The sub was the worst I've EVER had...dry, no italian dressing at all, no oil, nothing, and no hot pickles as I had ordered. I'll NEVER eat there again!

I moved to Salisbury last year and I started buying subs from Red Door. I have eaten there many times. The prices and food were excellent. Today I went there with my fiance for Dinner. We walked in and instead of being greeted by the usual friendly counter person, we stood at the front counter looking at the side of a woman's face. She wasn't engaged in anything, it was almost as if she was intentionally ignoring us. After 3 minutes of this, I started reciting my order to the side of her face. Upon hearing my voice, she turned her attention to me; the customer, and let out a loud sigh of discontent. I guess she was distracted by me as I interrupted her from her post afternoon epiphany. Finally I had her attention and she began entering the order into the register. I then asked her if there were any specials. She "pointed" to a sign on the counter without saying a word. After we gave the order, we sat down and waited. We observed FOUR girls behind the counter, and at least 3 men in the back cooking. The girls moved along the front line with the the viscousity of maple syrup. One of these girls however seemed to move much faster than the other 3. Poor soul, towing the line for the inadequacy of the others. Alas, we are only as strong as the weakest link in the chain. 25 minutes later, our 2 subs and cheese fries were finally finished. I thought to myself, "These subs may be magic, considering they seem to be so elusive." Upon opening the container of cheese, I noticed it was half full. Mice I suspect. Then I get to my favorite, the meatball sub. I open up the wrapper and I see 2 things I do not recognize. Upon further inspection I notice they are green peppers and onions. Someone working today at Red Door had a sense of humor. I am 35 years old, and have eaten well over a few hundred meatball heros all over the country. NEVER have I seen green peppers or onions on a meatball sub. I have gotten the same sandwich from there many times. It is always meatballs and cheese only. I could not even disect the sandwich because all the wrong toppings were melted into the cheese, and there was no way I was eating it without the cheese. Well, that will be my last time at this place. And yes, all the religious vomit in the windows offended me a bit as well. Like many wise men say, "Keep your politics and religion to yourself".

If you want a large cheese steak or sub, this is the place to go! I don't know what special ingredients they use, but their subs are incredible! The bread is fresh, and the subs are generously filled with the meat of your choice. The staff are also very friendly and entertaining.

While I mainly ordered food to go, the interior is very nice and always decorated for the season/holiday, and it would be nice to sit down and eat there.

When I worked at the pharmacy in this same shopping center I would go here at least twice a week for lunch. Excellent cheesesteak subs but the best is their cold cuts. Yummy!
