.

Hope Lutheran Church (www.hopecp.org) serves the University of Maryland at College Park and surrounding communities. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and recently celebrated the 20th year of pastoral care by Pastor Richard Graham. Worship services are held on Sunday mornings at 10:00. Typical attendance is 50-60 people. Lay members teach Sunday school (9:00), sing in the choir, usher, assist with Communion, and (often but not always) prepare light refreshments for after the worship service.

There are two parking lots; the lower lot, just off Guilford Drive, usually fills up, but there are almost always empty spaces in the upper lot. Even if it looks full, an usher may guide you into an unmarked space.

The church provides rehearsal space for the Joyful Noise college student music group, and hosts The Caring Project, which brings college students together with children of the nearby immigrant community.

Volunteers from the church recently teamed with City employees and other community volunteers to clear brush and vines from the small streambed that runs between the lanes of Guilford Road.

College Park is a place where many people come and go, and Hope Lutheran Church is a place where anyone can be treated like family, where it's hard to get lost in the crowd.
