Ratings_icons WORST/MOST EXPENSIVE BAGLES AND BAKERY

If you want to spend most of your hard earned vacation money on a sub par bagel/bakery item here is your place!!!! Way over priced items with no posting inside on cost per item. 3 bagels(2w/butter? and 1 w/cc) and a sticky bun $14.86!!!!!!!! Stickey bun un edible and bagels stale. Better items can be bought at a 7-11/dunkin d's for way less. When i asked about the prices on the items i got the girl said i should have checked the printed menu before buying. Ya know she was right, because i would have walked right out in a second after seeing the absolute rip off prices for their items. There are many other places in OC offering better quality items for half the price charged.

Ratings_icons Bagels N' Buns Usa is not bad.

Now I am going to be upfront and admit that I am the nephew of the owners of Bagels 'N Buns. Having said that, some of these responses are absolutely ridiculous! None of the owners (my aunt and uncle), nor any workers *(no offense guys!) in the store can afford a Ferrari. That entire hyperbolic story sounds fascinatingly ludicrous.

Granted, prices may be high but I guess every business in Ocean City, Maryland should simply create a dollar menu so tourists don't have to resort to eating McDonald's. Almost every NON-CHAIN, family owned, restaurant/store/etc. at the beach needs to earn a profit so they don't have to close down during the off-season.

Give Bagels 'N Buns a chance, don't listen to some of these mindless horror stories. If your pastries are not 'warm and chewy' then tell them and they will amend the situation. If somebody cuts in front of you in line, which seems to be an oddly reoccurring theme, speak to them. If that fails, walk up to the cashier and tell them that they lost a customer because of what happened.

Every business knows how important a happy customer is versus a negative customer. Bagels 'N Buns would not have been around for as many years as it has been (10+) if they half were as bad as some of the comments here say.

Ryan.

Ratings_icons Bagels N' Buns in Ocean City WORST breakfast place by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve S.

Worst place to eat in Ocean City. I was there over the weekend and saw a waitress talk down to a customer for not knowing how the seating arrangement worked. There is a confusing sign on the exit door which directs customers to the back kitchen entrance for entry, and when you finally figure out how to enter into the seating area, this VERY RUDE waitress skipped over a guy who as waiting in line and talking to the cashier on how the place works, how to place an order, etc... When the customer explained he was in line first and was merely asking the cashier if they take cash or credit cards, the RUDE teenage waitress said, "Well, that's your problem isn't it???" He and is 6 person party then just walked out because of her attitude. The place is not clean either and is managed by a fat letchy slob and the food was bland and pricey. I wouldn't eat there again if the food was free and they hand delivered it!!!!!

Ratings_icons Bagels are a bust - Pastries imperfect

Marley F.

Way too expensive and overrated. Pastries look good but are not warm and chewy. Locals
avoid. Visitors are most likely their best clients who are caught up by the big sign and convenient location.

Ratings_icons Bagels N' Buns Usa is a vacation spoiler

Went there on sunday a.m. for bagels for the kids. It is expensive and the staff is surly at best. Great way to ruin a good day at the beach. Drive the extra miles to Panera in W. OC.

Ratings_icons Everything good and bad about NYC in one dirty shop

I am waiting in a long line for a bagel for breakfast, and I see a guy with a beer gut and attitude cut the line. He makes creepy old man jokes with the poor Eastern European woking there on her temporary visa. This is the owner, and his voice rises as he is more pleased with himself and his description of his car, and he bellows, "You and me in the back seat, baby" and she laughs nervously, clearly not sure why he is laughing. I give my order to the woman at the counter for a rye bagel sandwhich and a soda and she gets it wrong twice when she yells it to the guy cooking, so I correct her each time. My order is over $10. She gets my soda wrong. While I am waiting for my sandwhich, I hear the owner say to another waitress, without kidding, "How yoooo do-in?" just as Joey Tribbiani from Friends would. My order comes. It is on rye bread, the third mistake they made on a 2-item order.

After it is fixed, the bagel is great, chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

I recommend you send someone else to pick up and pay for the $$$$ bagels if possible, and enjoy them at home. But don't send any teenage daughters unless they know how to respond to, "How yoooo do-in?"
"I used to be fine, but now I'm broke and a weird old guy is bothering me," would be a good response.

Ratings_icons stop being bagel haters!!

i thought that everything at bagels n buns was delicious, maybe there prices are a little higher then your typical bagel shop but so what they have way more variety and you are at the beach what did you expect to pay? prices are always higher at the beach it doesn't matter if it is the bagel place or a fancy restaurant. plus maybe there prices are higher because they are not your typical bagel shop. they are open 24/7 and they even deliver to the beach. every time i go in there for breakfast they are always busy and it doesn't look like they will be going out of business anytime soon, i am sorry that some people had bad experiences but i am happy with the way bagels n buns is run and will continue to patronize them when i am on vacation

Ratings_icons No flavor and insanley expensive

I went there because I wanted a nice ocean city place for breakfast to surprise my parents and have plenty of starbucks by my house so I got there and it looked nice. I ordered a dozen bagels, 2 flavors of cream cheese and 2 cinnabuns. and the total is? 40 BUCKS!! I took off the cinnabuns and realized the cream cheese was 8 dollars -(when I could go down the street and get it for 3 at super fresh!) we got our dozens bagels and plain cream cheese home to find there were no blue berries in the blueberry bagels (clearly just dye) and all the other flavors were very bland. so disappointing - some other place needs to open and show them how to cook and how to charge! Don't waste your money - go to dunkin donuts!!!

Ratings_icons Decent bagels, but .....

Bill G.

Went to Bagels N Buns in Ocean City for years. but I won't return there.

Their bagels are decent, being some of the only *real* "New York Style" bagels you'll find in the O.C. area. Boiled in a large bagel kettle before they're baked. So they're not the usual "donuts" or "dinner rolls" passed off as bagels at most places. Expect to pay "beach prices" at Bagels N Buns. After all, you are at the beach...!

Because of my own personal experiences at Bagels N Buns, over the years, I'd have to say that I'm in complete agreement with what "joe f." has to say in his review of this place, below. Decent bagels, with poor customer service

I'd also recommend that you avoid the deli counter at Bagels N Buns. It's too "hit or miss", with deli meats that are not only overpriced, but too often aren't anywhere near "fresh". Yuk!

All in all....they need some good local competition to "shake, and shape 'em up"!

Ratings_icons Bad Experience

joe f.

I have been a regular customer at Bagels N Bun, until today. I was waiting in the usual line for my usual dozen bagels for about 10 minutes, when a man came and cut me off in line. I said, "excuse me sir, I have been waiting in line". The man shrugged and proceded to make his order, not caring that I had just told him he had cut in front of me. The woman taking his order said, the usual 5.95. So I knew he was another regular, but just a real jerk. Then while standing in front of the line he had just cut off, he continued to talk to the woman about which sports car he had driven to the store this time. Oh, I have the red ferrari today. He even asked the woman if she wanted to "go take a ride". Haha, cool...no not for me. I then asked this man if having this car gave him the right to cut off the line. He replied, "no", then left. Then when it was my turn to order again the same woman asked what was wrong, and I told her that man had just cut the line, and her reply was, " Oh that's okay he is one of our owners"...shocked of the thought that an owner would cut off his own line of customers, I left the store without "my usual". I am in school for business now, and I am pretty sure that is not a good way to promote good customer service. The owner should have waited in line with everyone else, show respect for your customers. Or at least go in the back and get your bagels, BUT I GUESS BEING THE OWNER OF BAGELS N BUNS IS APPARENTLY WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO CUT THE LINE, SORRY SIR. I WILL REMEMBER NEXT TIME, BECAUSE I WILL NOT SUPPORT A PLACE THAT IS RAN BY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

PROS: pretty good bagels for being in maryland
CONS: the owner who cuts off his line of customers because he has a red ferrari

Ratings_icons Best bagels in OC

Christine F. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,279

Bagels N Buns is the best bagel shop in all of Ocean City. It is located on the Bay side of the Coastal Highway between 71st and 72nd streets. They have an extensive bagel selection and their flavored cream cheeses are out of this world. I am a big fan of the sesame bagel with pineapple cream cheese. The have a great take out selection, but their restaurant serves great breakfast too. My husband is in love with their banana nut pancakes!
