We were closing on a house and paid $95 for a Jiffy plumber to come down to give estimates for repairs on defects. He gave an estimate and agreed to use the trip fee to partially offset cost of future work. We then used his estimate to ask money back from the seller of the house. After we moved in, the plumber refused to come to house to carry out the repairs, despite multiple (>3) attempts. We got another Jiffy guy to come down and he quoted us more than twice the price! Now the original plumber got us into deficit by refusing to come down to do the job, and giving us a low-ball estimate that even his own company will not honor.

I called JIFFY approx 11am because my central heat was blowing cool air instead of heat. PETE was here by 12:45pm, fixed the issue and took me step by step through the process. My family is so satisfied! I would call and ask for PETE any day.

The customer service rep was very disrespectful. I called for an estimate and they showed up to do the repaires. I denied them access to my Pax River, Md home. After that he would call and harASS me to the point I had to call the police. SCARY..To my Military fam call Affordble Plumbing-Tommy is good.

Calling in for service on my warranty was a hassle. It seems that customers who have contracts get moved to the front and those that don't are put off until days later. How they dispatch calls and customer relations is a major weakness of this company. However when i was finally able to get a tech out for service he was outstanding! Pete really knows his stuff, is honest and is willing to work with the customer.

Finally a company that does what they promise at a reasonable cost. On time, great service, quality work and very affordable compared to other companies I called. Definitely recommend and would use again. Pete was awesome!

I called Jiffy on a Sunday afternoon with an exploding downstairs toilet, not good. The tech came when he said he would, they did not charge me Sunday and night rates. And they did an excellent job. I highly recommend them, and will use them again

We have a unique experience with this company please read on, it is valuable.

We are tennant renting a home from a private landlord. We mentioned teh heating cooling system is smelling bad, they cam with their contractor to diagnoose, they walked away with what was estimated in over 5000$ worth of repairs. The landlord called us to tell us we failed to properly maintain the unit ( we lived here for 6 months) and we are in breach on the lease.

I called jiffy PH at 1 pm to send someone not to repair teh unit but just to diagnose it. I stated clearly that no matter what, they will not be performing any repairs ( this is usually a deterant for contractors, they would rather not waste teh hour and go to a job they can fix and charge for)

2 hours later, Pete K showed up after 2 follow up phone calls en route. I explained teh situation again and he had no issues diagnosing the unit. which he did in about 10 minutes, an hour less than the landlord's contractor. He took his time to explin what is happening in details, and went on to write a detailed report explaining the problem and the fix. in teh hundreds of dollars.

I liked the service, the honesty, and the proffesionalism knowing well it is a 80 buks job and no more will come out of it.

his card is in my wallet and i will be emailing everyone i know in the area and refering as much as possible. People in this business like pete are rare and they deserve our business, because they are honest.

Very helpful and knowledgable. Prompt and courteous service. We had a problem with our gas heater, and the repairman had everything fixed quickly, and explained each part of the process to us while he was working. Very happy with the results and the experience.

Pete And TJ from Jiffy Plumbing And Heating came out to look at my gas furnace. The problem was solved fast and efficiently. Pete was the lead tech on the job and TJ was in training, I have to say this is a great company to use. There prices are reasonable and the service is like no other. My sewer line backed up and I called Jiffy Plumbing after looking at their site and watching the friendly video. The technician came out and gave me a quote on a price that he swore could not be beat. I agreed to this and he snaked out my pipe, encountering a couple of blockages before finally getting to the street and making my water drain down. As he pulled up the snake, he informed me that there are tree roots in my system and that they do not warranty this kind of work.
Nine days later, my system again backed up. I called Jiffy and informed them of my problem that asked if roots could grow back that quickly to cause another leak. They told me that since it was only nine days ago that they came, they would come and snake out the pipe again for free. I waited unti 230 AM and they never showed up. In the morning I called and was transfered to the supervisor. He informed me that they will not clean it out again for free and that they needed to look into replacing my line and send a camera down the pipe. Thats great I said, but why was I not informed of this after the first appointment? The first plumber just came out, finished, and hurried out. Jiffy wanted another $460 to unplug it again, and then give me a diagnostic.
I then proceeded to call another company for a 2nd opinion. Not only did they show up MUCH quicker, but they beat the "unbeatable" price to unclog my line by $80! The technician was far more polite and explained everything he was doing. He never saw any sign of roots. After the water drained down, he sent a camera down the entire length of pipe. We never saw any sign of roots, but rather a corroded and broken pipe.
The plumber from Jiffy never took the time needed to give me a correct diagnosis, and rushed the entire job just to hit and run. I will never look to them for business again.

This company came to do a simple assessment of my HVAC system when my AC stopped working. They knowingly put 7 lbs of freon into my leaking system. Two days later all the freon leaked out and my AC unit was not cooling again. I had another contractor come out. They reported a "huge" leak, stated Jiffy would have known this. I was charged several hundred dollars for the freon. Apparently this is a common rip off practice. The manager Doug Mohler justified this practice by stating that technically by law they could install freon at least once without testing the system for leaks and that at least 2 lbs of freon would be needed to test the system for leaks. A big lie! There are other inexpensive and non-toxic gases that are easily and routinely used to check for leaks. He could not be reasoned with. I asked him if it was routine practice to check for freon leaks if a system is encountered that has no freon (like mine). He stated no, using reasons like, "some teenagers may have tapped into your system to get high". He finally agreed to pay back all but 2 lbs worth of freon. Its been two years and many phone calls....and no refund. Doug is never available now. Oh you have to identify yourself by the property that was worked on so they screen the phone calls very discriminately. This was a flagrant act of greed and this company has avoided settling this properly. Very unprofessional!

I've had three major plumbing issues with my house--burst pipe underneath the house and flooding, burst pipe under the yard, etc., and Jiffy's team did an amazing job and made it at painless as possible to go through something major like that. Since that work, I've used Jiffy for all my plumbing and heating problems, and the hands-on care and prompt service has been awesome. I count on Pete and the guys for everything. They call me when it's about to get DC hot and make sure my A/C is ready for the summer; if I have a minor fix, they squeeze me in at the end of the day so I have no wait, Mark in the office takes all my calls and gets someone out to me on schedule, and the work always lasts. And, of course, Pete is just the best is diagnosing the big problems and making sure it gets done right the first time, and everyone on the job is at the top of the line. And then he follows up personally. And takes your calls on the little problems if you need him. Can't ask for more than that. In other words, I'm a loyal customer for good reason. I'll never go a night without A/C or heat or hot water even when everyone is slammed because Jiffy has that kind of customer service. Hands-down, full recommendation. And I travel on a regular basis and have a hard schedule to fit and they've worked around my needs and made it easy---my first big job happened when I was in Durham, N.C., on a 6-week assignment and had a major basement flood in the dead of winter and I was more than pleased with the work that got done with my traveling back-and-forth.

I obtained three estimates before starting the work and Jiffy gave me the best deal, so went with them and so glad. They installed a tankless water heater, reconfigured the furnace/boiler and installed a radiator. EVERYONE that they sent to my house was very nice; EXTREMELY considerate and professional. I have been living there for almost four years and had another company service my furnace since being there. However, the heat works so much better since Jiffy did the work for me. Thank you Jiffy for doing such a great job!

We own an old home in a historic section of a DC suburb. We have put a LOT of work into the house. I'm very particular about how work is done and don't hire out jobs very often. When it came time to improve the heating, hot water, and original plumbing, I had a big choice.
Jiffy came in with a great estimate using top quality for everything. The heat/hot water system was state of the art and extremely high efficiency. They reoriented the layout and gave me a LOT more room in the basement area. Every detail was attended to, with my special requests honored.
At the end, their clean-up was excellent. There were no areas that I needed to go back through for cleanliness or any other reason. Their estimate was fast, accurate, well-explained, and resulted in the greatest value for the money. They scheduled the work almost immediately and worked to my convenience. The quality of the materials was tops and the workmanship met the highest homeowners' standards. The clean up was excellent.
The workers were respectful of my house, courteous and prompt, worked like they wanted to get the job done, and listened to my requests.

Jiffy is among the larger plumbing and heating companies in the area. At times, this is a disadvantage. Not with Jiffy. I got very personalized service backed by a large and experienced work force that was able to deliver reliably, on time, and with the highest quality. They are VERY aware of customer service and work to meet your needs, expectations and desires.
I would be very surprised if you were left unsatisfied by Jiffy work.

Overall, Jiffy exceeded my expectations and I have already begun recommending them to friends and neighbors throughout their service area.

In an age when we have become accustomed to living with poor service, lack of courtesy, and lack of professionalism, and figure we just had to settle for that, ?? Jiffy! like an Oasis in the desert.

We needed to have some plumbing work done, and so I contacted a recognized company I found in the phone book. When my husband came in and I told him, he said he wanted the work done by Jiffy because we had used Jiffy several years before when we had a heating problem and he had been very pleased, so he wanted Jiffy to do this plumbing job. The technician, Vinh, was polite and professional; and even when we thought that further adjustment needed to be made, Vinh promptly returned and with his same quiet professionalism made sure we were satisfied. Thank you, Vinh.

Also, we had not used our gas fireplace for several years and wanted to have that serviced before using it. We spent $1,000 for repairs that didn't work on our old inefficient furnace and were then told we needed a new furnace. We decided to buy the new furnace from another company, Jiffy Plumbing and Heating. The furnace they installed performs beautifully and cut our gas bills dramatically. The workmen were very professional and courteous and a joy to work with. Jiffy's prices, despite their two hour distance from us, were far lower than local price quotes. We decided to buy the new furnace from another company, Jiffy Plumbing and Heating. The furnace they installed performs beautifully and cut our gas bills dramatically. Pete from Jiffy Plumbing was the only person who could come up with a solution to my complicated heating and hot water system problem. My heat and hot water system consists of tankless hot water heaters hidden in a small space behind the subzero refrigerator in my kitchen. I suffered without properly functioning heat or hot water for 2 years until Pete took the time to come up with a solution that fit into my small space. Now I have all the heat I want and endless hot water. If you need a company to work with you on a complicated HVAC system issue (especially if you live in an old, historic townhouse) call Jiffy.

Last night our heating system went down and stopped working. I called Jiffy plumbing, heating & cooling in the morning. Within one hour Pete Kristiansen responded and scheduled a visitation to check our broken system. After one hour he showed up and started working on the broken system. Pete Kristiansen responded to my service call within 20 minutes and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. Within the hour, Jim and his helper Herbert were in my basement replacing my old, failing gas-fired boiler and other components. This was not a quick or easy job, but Jim and Herbert went the extra mile and kept working all day and into the early evening. They were great about clean-up, too --- not a trace was left behind. A third guy, Ronnie, showed up to install and run a final test on the thermostat. I really appreciate the way Pete, Jim, Herbert, and Ronnie mobilized as a team and got the job done right.

Somewhere in this business name should be Consistent Quality, Professionalism and Personable but for the sake of brevity, they chose to go with Jiffy. We have never failed to receive same-day service from this terrific business, no matter the scope of the job. Jiffy has replaced our air conditioner compressor, repaired our furnace, and performed other maintenance over an 8 year period with a refreshingly old-fashioned consistency of professionalism, punctuality, and outstanding customer communication skills.

Pete is our technician with Jiffy Plumbing, and he cannot be recommended highly enough. He is an amazing diagnostician who quickly identifies problems. During this phase of his work, he actively involves and educates the homeowner by showing you the areas needing repair. Poor, patient Pete- I must be one of his slower students, but he continues to try with me. Another great thing about Pete is his decisiveness. No matter how huge you think the problem is, Pete can be counted on for his "Here's the problem, and here's how we fix it" logic.

The bottom line here is our dollar is well spent: immediate, knowledgeable service with the added bonus of a thoroughly pleasant service provider.

But, Pete didn't want us sitting with a sewage over the weekend, so he stood in the driveway and called around until he had confirmation that WSSC woud send a truck. They did, and that night (about 10:00 pm) WSSC found the problem and cleared the drains. So, thank you Pete and Jiffy, for sticking with us until the problem was solved.

The day-to-day guy was Jim who treated the job as though he was working on his own house. Recently my sewer line backed up and flooded my basement. I called a heavily advertised plumber in the DC area that snaked out the line for $589.00 and found roots in the line. They attempted a hard sell at a price that I thought would escalate throughout the job. I really felt uncomfortable with the company even though I used them in the past. I just pictured a trench in the back yard with new contact prices hourly.

I called Jiffy. Pete returned my call and came out to my house the same day. He gave me an estimate and explained in great detail, explained to me every thing that Jiffy would do to restore my sewer system. I really felt comfortable with Jiffy. I want to let my neighbors know that Jiffy did everything they promised, and they did it at the price they quoted. They performed when promised and each day returned the job site to a clean and orderly manner. The workers were excellent and professional. The lead technician -- Chris -- kept me informed at all times and led his crew well and kept the project on schedule. They really took care to respect my property. I called Jiffy at 7 PM on Tuesday, the guy showed up 1 hour later looking like he had worked for the past 12 hours. He added freon to my air conditioner and explained it so well to me. The guy was really nice and did a good job. I give 4 stars only because he ate his sandwich while fixing my outdoor AC unit ( I thought that was ammusing ) that he can fix my AC and eat at the same time!!

I have been for 5 short years however the 65 year old house which I purchased has needed a lot of plumbing work in that time. I have used 3 other companies that failed me in many different ways however I am happy to say that I have finally found a company that stands behind its work and has reasonable prices. They have replaced all the old pin hole infested copper pipes and remodelled my bathroom both jobs were of a larger scale that one might expect to have problems in scheduling. Everything went smoothly and I will continue to use them for my plumbing and heat and air conditioning needs. After the problems I have had with other companies I am happy to have finally found a company that cares fot its customers!

Then a guy called quoting over $600 to replace something that he didn't want me to know. What is that??? It's a violation to any decent business practices. Jiffy came out last Thursday to light my gas fireplace. Cleaned it out and lite it but the flame kept going out. So Tuesday----4 days later, they came back out to adjust the flame and to reclean it again.......and charged me another $109 because they did not adjust the flame high enough the first time. Can you believe it?
Do NOT call them.....I had a real problem when I installed my fireplace with them but I thought they finally fixed it so I am okay....That was my mistake. Thinking of calling Jiffy? Be kind to yourself...DON'T. Sweet-talking slick salesman. Terribly inflated prices. Non-descript equipment. Shameful workmanship. A/C failed within only a few weeks, in the middle of a summer heat wave. Elderly couple. 3-4 days before repaired with three (count them 3) failed components they said they had to order. Now the fall cold weather has set in and no heat. The new gas valve installation incomplete. Gas valve never turned on, thermocoupling loose, stripped or simply wrong, and pilot won't light. What to do? Cut your loses and find someone else? Or insist the ones you overpaid meet their obligations? Couldn't get past the dispatcher to talk to anyone.

Thinking of calling Jiffy? Be kind to yourself...DON'T. Sweet-talking slick salesman. Terribly inflated prices. Non-descript equipment. Shameful workmanship. A/C failed within only a few weeks, in the middle of a summer heat wave. Elderly couple. 3-4 days before repaired with three (count them 3) failed components they said they had to order. Now the fall cold weather has set in and no heat. The new gas valve installation incomplete. Gas valve never turned on, thermocoupling loose, stripped or simply wrong, and pilot won't light. What to do? Cut your loses and find someone else? Or insist the ones you overpaid meet their obligations? Couldn't get past the dispatcher to talk to anyone.

We were also ripped off by Jiffy. They charged us an enourmous amount of money for a discontinued model (which we didn??t know until after the fact) and it broke down two weeks later. It took them almost a full week before they even came back out (temperatures were in the teens at night). Everyday they kept saying someone would be right down and each day nothing. We in fact had to call to check on the status. They never initiated the phone calls. Never said why they weren't going to make it that day nothing just the same phrase "Someone will be right out". Yeah...right. They didn??t seem to care. We asked for them to come pick up their broke down heat pump and refund us our money. They declined and said the problem may not even be the heatpump but the handler and would replace that free of charge. Thing is, the amount we paid for the heat pump and the amount we paid for fixing the handler is the is the cost for an upgraded non-discontinued name brand system, bells and whistles included . After what they put us through in trying to get them back out to see our system we had it and wanted to deal with someone else. Yet they still refused to give us a refund but instead again wanted to install another system. Like we were going to trust them again. They don??t mind people taking legal action because they have an attorney on retainer. Unfortunately we didn??t do our research before hiring them. You should also report them to the Maryland Department of Labor and Licensing. That??s one of the steps we are taking as well as investigating all our legal options. Also, their ad is also misleading. Reasonable Rates-Nope....Minimum Disruption of schedule and Household routine...Wrong. Day...Night..Rush service...Laughable. BBB....Not even a member..Same Day replacement...Wrong again I beg people please, regardless of the emergency if you have to please do your research prior to hiring anyone.

Do not hire this company for any heating and cooling issues you may have in your home. They charged me an enormous amount of money and installed a heat pump which I found out to be 5 years old and seating in a warehouse for all those years. Apparently meant to be installed in an apartment complex but instead they passed it on to me. They installed it letting me believe it was new. I had to get another professional to get all the facts. I am in the process of taking legal action because they will not replace this unit they installed which is also not working. They keep promising that someone is coming to look at it but still its been just a big run around. I have lost days of a work because I keep being told by their manager M. Wolfe that someone is coming and without even a phone call they never show up. If I call and question what happened the excuses range from bad dispatching to poor communication on their part. Unfortunately its all at my expense. Do not make the same mistake as me. Check with your Better Business Bureau before hiring a contractor. Jiffy uses the BBB (Better Business Bureau) Seal in some of their advertisements and after checking it out they are not authorized and are in no way affiliated with them. Jiffy has an enormous amount of complaints against them after doing my research. As a consumer I feel I need to pass this on and I will also forward this to Jiffy so they may see that consumers to have a voice.

We used Jiffy to replace our main water service line. This was a precarious job, since I live in a condo and my neighbor's pipes are located right next to mine. They replaced my plumbing very quickly, with no problems, and were done within 2 days.

I was especially impressed with how knowledgeable they were about the poly plumbing systems in my area, which are prone to major leaks.

To top that off, their price was very reasonable, as compared to the plumbers that my neighbors used.

I certainly would recommend them.

We first used Jiffy when we had just moved here and the garage was flooded because the old sump pump had stopped working. They came out immediately and replaced it. We then used them to replace our air conditioning system - the guy they sent out did a terrible job and the inspection failed. When we called them to let them know, they had someone else come out who did a superb job and the inspection was passed. They were very apologetic about the first installer and he was let go. We are now using them to put in a mini-split air conditioner. I have no hesitation in recommending them. Their prices are fair and they are very responsive.
