I read some really negative reviews for this place on Citysearch and one other review site. I just went there Saturday and I have to wonder if it was even the same place. Maybe it got new owners.

Regardless of the reason, I couldn't

Just got back into gaming due to D&D 4Th edition. Stopped by to buy some dice and the 3 core books.

This place definitely reminded me of all the gaming stereotypes. On the positive, they had a sizable space and carried a wide variety of cards, dice, books, minis, and board games. On the negative, looks like nothing has ever been cleaned, bad lighting, pompous employees, everyone smells.

So yeah, it is the same type of game store I remember going to in high school 10 years ago... in fact, they might still have the same employees! (just kidding...i think). If you need some help, the staff seemed knowledgeable and can help you out, just don't expect a discount.

Kinda sad.

Store was barely stocked, no prices on anything. Everyone working was just in the back playing WoW, not very helpful.

At least it has some free play space.

Pros: Free play space

Cons: Dark and dirty store. Poor selection. At or above retail price.

The Glen Burnie game shop has gone through many owners over the years, most of them were really bad.

Back in the early 2000's the store was purchases by a nice woman (I forgot her name) and she really turned the place around and gave the location a new name, Games and Comics and Stuff. I was a regular for a couple of year until my job relocated me to the other side of 495.

I recently returned to the area and not only had the store moved one block but, it had changed ownership again. Now the Glen Burnie game shop is a pit again. Dirty store, rude employees, weak selection, I tried a couple of time to give the place a real chance (they did install a LAN line in the back) but, it frankly it is the worst incarnation of the Glen Burnie Store... ever! The manager (maybe owner?) Matt is just horrible. I saw him belittle at least 3 different customers during my visit and he seemed annoyed just to have people in his shop.

Finally, since the store didn't have much merchandise on the shelves, I asked for a order to be placed and to be called once the game arrived. After 3 weeks with no call and rang up the place. The man on the other side said "We saw a note that said 'Special Order' but there were no details - so we just put it on the shelf...and it sold already. Did you want us to order another copy?" WORTHLESS! I declined his offer.

Don't waste your time - just buy online. No reason to support this place

Pros: It is one of the few local game stores

Cons: Everything else

I've been an off-and-on customer since 2002. I use to claim that GCS was the best gaming store on the east coast...not anymore.

Over the few years or so the shop has gone through a new manager (who is just mean to customers) and the owner is always in the back playing WoW without concern of his business.

The neglect is obvious. The store is understocked, dirty, and has a hostile environment. Seems like the only use for this store now is to be a hangout for the staffs friends. I don't think they care about customers at all anymore.

I'm definitely taking my money elsewhere. GCS is dead to me now.

I went into Games and Comics and Stuff at Christmas time when I was looking for Magic cards for a gift. They did not have what I was looking for instock, so they called a few places to check on them for me. It turned out the cards were out of print, but they offered to try to special order some for me. While I was there, I also talked to them about my husband and his interests. The employee took the time to show me what would be best for my husband to get started again, and told me about the games that they host in house that he could join in. He also led me to their website, where they have a list of different events.
