This company is a joke. I was getting fitted for my wedding dress when I hear my car alarm going off. I ran out thinking someone is breaking into my car when I saw the Pollard's Tow Company attempting to tow my car away. He said he had to get into my car (which was locked) because he had to turn the steering wheel since my wheels weren't straight. The signs that said "Permit Only" were not visible at all and are hidden in the abandoned parking lot that THEY OWN..hmm how coincidental? They have "bait" cars on the lot with permits which were issued from there own company. These are there to make it look like other cars are parked there so people think its okay for them to park there cars in the lot. Another messed up thing these scam artists did was watch some girl walk into the dress shop and leave her car in the permit parking only lot and towed her car and didn't even have the decency to tell her to park somewhere else or she will get towed. Another sketchy thing is they don't accept credit cards, cash only which means people probably canceled the payments because they realized they are so ridiculous.

Pollards towed my truck for "expired tags". They don't work for the police, MVA, city, county anything. They are trolling for reasons they can get away with for towing people. Even the cop that came to the scene because we thought our truck was stolen said, yeah they get away with it, but I don't even know how legal it is. When I went to pick it up they never even asked for proof of renewed registration (which seems like that would be necessary if that's the reason for the towing to begin with) or even proof of ownership. Just give me the $220.00 in cash. What a freaking joke that these tools can go around stealing vehicles under some blanket of lies. I'm buying a tow truck so I can start scamming people out of $220.00 a pop. I hope they all die.

I plan to report this unethical company to the Department of Motor Vehicles and anywhere else I can to attempt to stop this racket of robing people. My wife was visiting her mother in a nursing home and parked in an area with no prohibited signs or curb markings. When she came out her car was on Pollards tow truck which they refused to unhook until she paid $ 110 cash stating if she did not they would tow away and the cost would be $ 220. I hope that by pursuing this unethical company it will prevent someone else from being robbed.

How can we get Baltimore County Police to use a company with integrity?! I was in an auto accident in which my car was totalled. No one asked me, these clowns just showed up to take my car. Pollard's tow truck operator told me I could come to the lot to retrieve my personal belongings that I couldn't carry. When I called to arrange to do that the next day, they said my bill would have to be paid before I could approach MY OWN CAR!! Since we are awaiting insurance investigation, the bill can't be paid, they've got my car and my belongings and everyone from the company has been extremely RUDE.

After being in an accident and having Balt. Co. police's trustworthy towing company Pollard's take care of my vehicle is a nightmare. After being in an accident, no matter what condition I was in, my personal belongings were not collected but yet were attended to the next day and was told that I cannot see it until the adjuster has. But, once I had the opportunity to get my items they were gone...I addressed the last place it was at and they gave me info of how and where it was stored, which was more than Pollard's could give.Once I stated the issue the 'girl' immediately thought I was blaming Pollard's and was going on about how they would not steal and I tried cutting her off and save her breath to explain that what I was trying to do is to explain that I already addressed 1 out of the 2 possible people and you are the second. So once she came to the 'conclusion' of that I was saying they are 'thieves' she would not talk to me and started to ignore me.Before this situation, I went to the Balt. Co. police w/ my police report and asked what do they do in a situation where a towing company they've used has possibly done such a thing. They called for me and said to talk to them Mon which was 3 days from then and they have insurance for situations like that.Went there and of course had to encounter the unhappy bitter person that jumps all over me for this and I told them about the police telling me about the insurance and she said she would not give any info at all or the insurance info. I simply said I was asking for help on if they know what the whole story of who had my car in their possession and she would not say because 'I' accused them for stealing and started to ignore me.I thought if you are running or working a company, you have to be courteous and help the customer on their issues. I would never think an employee of a business would maintain an argument with a customer on a situation like that. This isn't something where I am trying to get anything out of the company, I am simply looking for help which the 'girl'/employee refuses to do because of how she feels about me asking if the theft could have possibly happened at Pollard's. Never thought ANYONE working under any business no matter what it is, would be so childish and ignore a person even a CUSTOMER like they are in an argument with a significant other. Come on you are at work, I am not arguing with you like you are my girlfriend, people don't want that crap from their gf/bf why would they want it from someone that isn't even their friend.WHAT company tries to prove a customer wrong and say that they are lying EVEN in a situation where they could have been hospitalized their car is totaled which puts them in a horrible financial position along with 500+ dollars of their belongings stolen from a possible towing company around Christmas time.I feel that I should be the one blowing up on them flipping out, yelling and accusing right off the bat, but no I keep my cool and others want to take advantage of that and get over on me over something that really doesn't matter much to them because they are just the EMPLOYEE, I mean not even a manager or supervisor would even help address this issue like a normal person. Just think if you were in a similar situation, wouldn't you want a break somewhere along the road, being that one kind person in someone's life could possibly be the only good thing going on in their life at the time.
To Pollard's:
Trust me it will not hurt to be nice once in a while, you'll notice your day to end less stressful.
You will not lose out on much if you just show a little kindness, not as much as I lost.
Thanks Pollard's :(

I have my girlfriend come over to help me move into Towson U during the summer. There is construction, thusly I park RIGHT IN FRONT of the building I'm moving into in the "visitor" section. My gf's hazards are on, and so are mine, we move things in. I'm in the building for 30-45 minutes unloading (its move in day for summer classes). I come out and both cars are gone. $$$440.00$$$. AMAZING. I explain my reasons to the cunt on the phone, and she is most "unsympathetic." The building I was in apologized, and said I have to take it up with polards. Its amazing how people can literally steal your car and ransom it back to you, especially hard working students. Here's an idea, a conjoint: towing company-cash advance-attorney's office- liquor store-gun store-and funeral home. That way its a one stop shop, follow the path like IKEA.

My daughter attends Towsun U. First week of school, living off campus. She goes to visit friends in another complex off campus. She parks in visitor parking goes in to get a parking pass. Comes out a few minutes later with pass and finds her car hooked to these a##holes tow truck. Despite her having pass in hand the guy laughs at her and tells her once car is in process of being towed it is $120.00 to let her have it back. This is a disgusting racket and the apartment complex is in on it and apparently getting a kick-back. This low-life practice is no better than vulture-like attorneys. If you can't make a living running a business with integrity and honesty you shouldn't be in business.

I have been parking in a lot on Delaware Avenue in Towson for five months and in that period I paid $5.00 to park all day. Yesterday when I arrived to get my car it was gone. I immediately thought it was stolen and pulled out my cell phone to call 911. As I was in the process of dialing, I looked up at the sign and it said cars that were illegally parked there would be towed by Pollards and gave a telephone number. The call was answered by a very rude woman who informed me that my parking ticket had expired approximately seven minutes earlier and that the driver was "perfectly within his rights" to tow my vehicle and that it would cost me $220 cash to get my car back. I paid these rude individuals because there was nothing else I could do. The next day I called to ask them the name of the owner of the Delaware Ave lot and all they would tell me was his name was Mr. McCrystal (I think that's the spelling). Again the woman had a rude attitude and said any other info was private. All I wanted to do was find out from him how I could pay to park all day since the machine will only allow you to pay for eight hours, but she wouldn't tell me anything else. I will NEVER EVER use this towing company myself and anyone who parks in that lot must be aware that they must be lying in wait for the ticket to run out so they can soak you for $220. If my car EVER breaks down in Towson, I would rather walk home to Harford County rather than EVER give that company another cent of my money!!! Do not use them!!!!

My car was towed out of a spot at the end of a series of parking spots. From all angles, it looks like a parking spot, fits a car in the spot, didn't have a yellow curb like a "no parking" spot. I took a picture to show to the woman, and she said if her driver knew it was a "hashed spot", anyone should. The picture clearly showed that the yellow curb ended before the parking space. Not only that, but the woman who worked there, didn't even look at my face. When she talked to me head on, she was looking over a foot to the left of my eyes/face. She knew what had happened was not right. Her final words to me were, "We are not in the business to help people, otherwise we would be out of business." In a spot like this, a simple warning sticker would have done, and I would have never parked there again. What a terrible experience.

My daughter was visiting a friend of hers to surprise her for her birthday. She arrived at the Village Apartments at 10:30 and left at 12:30, 2 hours later. She thought her car was stolen. She saw a tow truck driver(young kid and his girlfriend) driving around and asked if they had towed her car(decription given). He stated yes and that to get it they had to go one block. They only take cash and did not accept Discover Card. Her friend gave her Visa and they charged 5% extra. Total cost $239.00!!! She had to wait for over half hour for rude guy to finish a personal call and it was about 29 degrees out. NO WARNINGS OR SIGNS STATING SHE WOULD BE TOWED! Only sign stated private parking, others towed. Well she was visiting a friend and thought it was okay to park there to visit for one-two hours. Where is she supposed to park? The lot was almost empty. This is a rip off and someone is making money off of this scheme(kickbacks or price gouging) Her car also has damage to bottom and I will talk to them Monday. If no results, then we will go to court. Towson University will be hearing from me as I believe they contract with them!
dl5enterprises@yahoo.com if anyone can give me any advice.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent as steam is still coming out of my ears. This business should be out of business! They take advantage of hard working, cash strapped, college students. Similar signs are posted at Dunkin Donuts, Shopping Centers, etc. I will give the owner exactly 2 days to reimburse my daughter's money and if they do not, I will sue them to the fullest extent of the law!!!
I will let you know my progress and if you have any ideas, email me at the above email.

Pollards was extremely helpful to me. I have had 2 experienced with them. One, we had to pick up my friends car which had been towed and they were very nice and made sure that everything went smoothly. The other time I called to get a car towed and they arrived right away and towed the car.
PROS: fast & nice
CONS:

Pollards had to tow a car of mine after an accident, and what a nightmare it was. First they didn't want to let me get personal belongings out of the car because it hadn't been seen by an adjuster, but I eventually got to get what I needed. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful, which is not what a person needs after an accident. You may not get much a choice for towing, but if you do, don't choose them.
