DONT LISTEN TO THESE BAD REVIEWS! First of all, the person that said all this store had is oversized prom dresses clearly wanted a prom dress for her wedding. They pick and choose dresses according to what you ask for. The owner knew exactly what I wanted when I described it and I ended up buying a sample that was BEAUTIFUL. They stay within your price range and give you their full attention. To the person that said the door was locked.... yes it is, but they have a doorbell that you just press and a person comes and opens the door within seconds. wow, not difficult. This is so their customers can have the best experience possible without being interrupted by people who aren't serious about getting a gown. I also got the bridesmaids dresses here and they are beautiful! Someone said something about their overweight friend not being able to try the dress on and thats correct. How can an owner lie and say someone who wears a size 18 can try to fit in a size 8. She is protecting her dresses... wouldn't you? They have a great alterations lady who will make it work... no matter what size you are! Love this place and I tell everyone to go here!
Had a great experience here! The shop owner and her assistant were polite, friendly, and produced several dresses that were all in my price range and perfectly within the style that I described to them. The store was extremely clean and very pleasant- good lighting and large fitting rooms. They stayed after hours with me and went the extra mile to get to know me and find me the perfect dress. Highly recommend this shop.
RUN!! I purchased my wedding dress here and they ended up ordering the wrong size. We kept telling the owner and the seamstress that it was too big, however, they kept assuring us that they " dealt with this all the time" and that they would make it fit like a glove. After 10 plus fittings, they made one final alteration the night before my wedding and destroyed my wedding dress. It was so bad that the owner admitted it was not fixable and that I would have to wear a sample gown that they had. I didn't get to wear my own wedding dress on my wedding day and I will never get the opportunity to. They ended up having to clean the sample dress and fit it to me the morning of my wedding. They STILL altered it wrong and I ended up not being able to wear a corset under my dress leaving it gaping in the chest area in my wedding photos. Please don't risk you wedding day here - go somewhere else!
Our bridal party had a HORRIBLE experience at Gambardella's, with the owner no less. She basically insulted and shamed my two friends who are over weight and flat out told one of them she was too big for the dress--she recently had a baby btw, and the owner asked her how long ago and was shaming her for not losing the baby weight yet. They offered no tailor to come out and explain how they could make the dress work to her size, or if they could order extra fabric just in case. THE OWNER IS MEAN AND COMPLETELY UNACCOMMODATING! In hind sight if I was a little more brave I would have reached across the desk and tore up the contract I already signed and said I was taking my money elsewhere. I just couldn't believe that had happened. This is supposed to be a happy day and a celebration, not a day for shaming someone's body. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT! HORRIBLE SERVICE, DON'T SHOP THERE!!
NOTHING good to say about this wanna be Kleinfields, besides the fact that I had ZERO jewlery because of there mistake, yes... i had no jewlery because of them, AFTER i paid about 350 for it! oh and they have a no return policy.. but BESIDES ALL OF THAT, the number one thing i would complain about it there service, they all act like they are to good for customers money, I wanted to try my dress on AFTER i bought it, and that was a proublem, i could go on and on about them, ill do my best to stop other women from having to deal with what i did, theres alot of bridal shops around there, be smart and DONT GO TO GAMBERDELLAS
I had an appointment to try on wedding gowns this past saturday afternoon. I had also made an appointment at Betsey Robinson's in Pikesville that morning. I tried on the dresses in Pikesville and then drove with my mom, mother in law to be and sister in law to Gamberdella's. Upon arriving, the girl seemed snotty and asked me what I think I want. I told her what I liked at Betsey Robinson's and she brought out some dresses (since you can't even look at their selection). All the dresses they had were overpriced white prom dresses. The place is dirty and old looking inside and the girls who work their are just working part time and are still in college. Save your time and go to Betsey Robinson's. They have dresses in the same price range and the experience is excellent.
Well, the first experience that I had with Gamberdella's as a bride was not a pleasant one. I had to wait a long time for service with an appointment, and the first words out of the saleswoman's mouth when I told her what I was thinking of was "we may as well forget it, we're dead in the water" before she even showed me one dress. She was VERY rude, and made me feel like I was bothering her being there. She brought in a few dresses, THREW them on me, and left the room without discussing them at all. Thank goodness my mother and sister were there to help me at least see how I might look in them if they fit properly. I am not a quiet person, and loudly voiced to my sister my opinion of the salon in the dressing room. We were then approached by the owner, and I told her that I was going to purchase a dress that I could have purchased from her at another salon. She promptly offered me a $350 discount if I purchased from her. I took her up on the offer, and when I went back to order my dress, the sales girl (different one) was very attentive and sweet, as was the seamstress. They do give a terrible first impression, but give them a second try- maybe you will get the sweet sales girl that I got on my second visit, and not the rude and arrogant one I had for my first visit!
After looking at several bridal stores for a wedding dress in the baltimore area, i thought i would try gamberdella in towson. When i arrived for my appointment, no one was at the front of the store to help me, it took about 5 minutes for someone to come to the front of the store to talk to me...and when the girl did she had an annoying attitude and her tone of voice was completely inappropriate. I had to wait another 10 minutes for the girl who was suppose to help me, BETH,( by the way learn to be more nice, attentive, and helpful....). If your are open to looking at different styles of dresses this is not the place because u tell them what u want and like and they supposedly try to bring u a dress that they think u might like.... but how are they supppose to know...Anyways that was not my problem,...the employees, the atmoshpere, and the service was horrible.....I would not recommend this place to any bride.... Gamberdella's supposed slogan is to #1 experience the unique atmoshphere...yeah okay quite an experience dealing with rude, ignorant ass...(i'll let u finish that phrase)...#2 personalized attention....okay i wonder what personalized means to them....trust me it's personalized too aggravate you ...even when u call them to check availablitiy on a dress they lie and say we will call u tomorrow..and when they don't call you back and you call them 3 days later and they tell you we will call u right back ..they are lying and wasting ure time...and #3 and custom fittings....yeah real custom alright...CLEAR WARNING for all the brides out there in the area...Gamberdellas IS NOT WORTH your time and they do not deserve your business....they were horrible and i will tell everyone i know and soo should you.
I just got engaged and this was my first visit to a bridal shoppe. I had no idea what I wanted. When they heard my budget was $1000 I was afraid they would not want to show me anything. They showed me a number of dresses. Some were slightly more than $1000, but some were less. They did not want to show me dresses that would cost more than I can pay and I think that was a good idea.I have picked 3 favorites. I am still looking other places, but those 3 are still my favorites. I will probably get one of them. there prices were not above others.
I had an AMAZING experience at Gamberdellas. The salon helped me to find my dream dress. I recommend that you visit 1 or 2 other boutiques 1st since you are not able to get the dresses yourself. By the time I visited Gamberdellas, I knew the styles I didn't like and of course my price range. All of the dresses that they brought to me were right up my alley and gorgeous. I ended up buying the 1st dress that Sharon picked out for me! Just go there knowing that it is an elegant salon and do your best to help them get to know you...it is amazing how good they are at what they do. Check it out!
PROS: Great Selection, one-on-one attention, BEAUTIFUL dresses!
CONS: Can be expensive and you are not able to select the dresses yourself.
When I went to Gamberdella I was not impressed. The employees were not very attentive, especially after theyrealized I could not spent $5,000 on a dress. The selection of lower priced gowns was extremely small.. Alterations were going to be very high on top on that price.
They have a large selection of gowns and high end ones too. But they lack customer service skills. They also don't let you look through the dresses. You tell them your price range and what you are looking for and they bring the dresses to you. Make sure you know what you are looking for and your budget before going in.
My future daughter-in-law and I had an appointment here to try on bridal gowns. Staff was young and trendy at the time, which I hadn't expected for the "preppy" Towson of my past. We were put into a rather spartan room and then asked what price range and style she was interested in seeing. Her price range was above $5,000, but she wasn't ready to be too specific on style. They will not let the customers look at their dresses personally. They bring out their selections, one at a time. Even though she said she was not fond of a lot of beading that seemed to go over their heads and that type of gown was brought out. Once they heard the higher price range, the more expensive gowns were all we were shown. It was extremely frustrating to wait for them to select a gown from their "hidden" back room, especially with their inability to comprehend your desires. We had just left another bridal salon in Pikesville when we had a wonderful experience, but had come here because of recommendations and to see a particular designer's gowns. Also, I have been a gift shop owner for over 20 year, understand customer service and was definitely not impressed.
To make matters worse, they had her standing on a teetering platform. If she stepped outside of the very center, the platform began to flip over....law suit waiting to happen! Evidently this shop has been around for quite awhile and the owner has been selected as the "Best of Baltimore" in regard to bridal salons, but I would never recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Designer selection
Cons: Poor customer service, parking, facilities, safety issues, unable to personally select gown
Having grown up in the Towson area, I thought I'd give Gamberdella's a try. I mainly went there because I was interested in some Watters gowns and the Watters site said G's had the full line of gowns. They were friendly on the phone and were able to make an appointment for me later that day.
However, when I arrived, I found they had none of the Watters gowns I was looking for. And when they discovered I was looking for dresses in the $1000 range, the attendant pretty much lost all interest in me, even though there was no one else in the store. She did bring me about 5 dresses that were in my range, but after doing so, she simply left the dressing room and I never saw her again. I proceeded to try on some bridesmaids dresses I found that were available in ivory and I picked out about 3 I really liked. However, there was no one there to notify of this, so my friend and I simply left.
No idea how these people stay in business. I was really offended at how second class I was treated. I also didn't like that their sample sizes are all 8 and 10, which I guess means they cater to the negative size 2 bony-assed private school types.
Pros: same day appt, allowed me to bring a camera to photograph myself in the gowns
Cons: don't work well with low budget, sizes really small, you can't look at what they have--they just bring it to you
