Three movers were contracted to move my family from Maryland to West Virginia on June 30 2014; a three bedroom home and workshop with about 150 boxes. They began late and one mover accidentally broke a window when a bookcase collapsed and broke to the floor. The bookcase was in the process of being disassembled, which was a service provided by the company according to their contract. No one was in the room except the mover when this happened. The mover apologized and we didn't hold him responsible for the bookcase, just the window. The company was notified IMMEDIATELY and they said it would be "taken care of." The truck sounded like it needed service and one mover admitted that the engine had problems and it got a flat halfway to our new residence. My husband and I joined in to unload the boxes once they arrived because it was taking too long and it was very late in the evening. From our experience with moving fourteen times and having professional movers do the job five of those moves, we felt that it was not a professional operation. Items were not carried safely and got chipped going up and down stairs and in and out doorways, our Maryland home had scrapes and gouges on the stairway walls, two dining chairs and a headboard were not wrapped properly and got scuffed. The truck was initially packed too tight with the boxes and when the rest was added it was too loose, so that when the truck was opened to unload, items had shifted severely. When the bill was finalized at around 10:30 pm, a 14.5hr day minus 1.5 hr for the flat, the lead mover wrote the invoice and asked us for the names of the other movers, which further displayed an unprofessional crew. We gave the men an "ok" tip despite the broken window caused by one worker. They had worked hard and it was a hot, long day. We bought them lunch and plenty of bottled water throughout the day. The company asked for a quote to repair the window and upon receipt, they wrote an email denying doing the damage, that "our staff was nowhere near the window" and blaming me for the incident, "using a mallet and hit it the wrong way(the bookcase)and part fell into the window" and that "this is our decision on the matter now that we have the facts from all three crew members." The above is their words from the email. I spoke to the owner to contest and he said he needed to interview the crew members and that he never spoke to all of them, which was completely contradictory to the email. After another phone call, the owner agreed to pay only half of the repair. Our bill for moving service was $1798.50. Full cost to repair the window $172.25. Company paid $86.25 and we paid $86. COMPANY HAS BEEN REPORTED TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

The movers are very fast and great at what they do. They treat items as if they were their own and take good care of them. They also travel so they are convenient for whatever kind of move you may need.
