On 2/14/12 I took my 12 lb. Maltese to these vets whom I felt had an extreme case of gastritis due to consuming kitty litter, the vet told me my baby was the picture of health. But suggested I have a sonogram done on 2/16/12 to be sure it wasn't anything serious. Since then I've asked repeatedly to see this sonogram and requested a copy for my records. They've given me one excuse after another why they can't give me my copy that I paid 300.00 for. After they said they did this test, they told me my baby needed emergancy surgery or may not live through the weekend. The Dr convinced me at the time to have this perhaps unnecessary surgery (now that I look back on it)!! So they scared me into the surgery on 2/17/12...which I truly regret...but I didn't feel I had time for another opinion. As my baby was at risk!! After the surgery I was told I could pick up my baby after 5 pm. As I had already made arrangements in writing to pay for this surgery at half the time of pick up and the other half in one week..I thought everything would be fine...but oh my....this was not to be. As I arrived, I had to make a request to talk to the vet...he wasn't even going to go over anything with me just hand me my dog and send me on my way..so I requested that I get to speak with him. They put me in this file room on a small metal chair, the girl handed me my baby...and Dr B came in and as I'm very stressed and worried about my baby..He started to tell me that he had removed a tumor from my baby's tummy the size of a baseball, so I asked him if I could see this tumor, at first he acted like he was leaving to go get it, then he turned around and said oh, I've already sent it off for biopsy!! And rather than give me time to ask further questions in my mind, He started a speech about how much it costs an hour to keep his practice open which he said was 350.00 an hour. His only concern was for the money to be all paid up front before I left with my dog...telling me he trusts noone...and that it costs him 350.00 an hour to keep the place in business....throwing a tantrum almost like a 16 year old when he doesn't get the keys to your car... he was prancing around in front of me constantly blinking his eyes and saying to me I want my money. As I told him I don't have the checkbook with me and as it was almost 7 pm and closing time, and I didn't want to leave my baby in their care any further at this point, and it seemed he wasn't going to let me leave with my baby, without his money. He actually made me take off my 4,000.00 diamond necklace and leave it with him overnite as security until I could return with the post dated check. The next day the check was taken in and my necklace retrieved. All of which I feel was very unprofessional and unethical coming from any Dr of Medicine!! Now I am asking for my copy of sonogram for three weeks now, and they refuse to give me one, now I ask myself, without seeing a baseball sized tumor, or a sonogram, was this all an unnecessary surgery with a bill of over 1,3000.00 dollars or what?? Where is the proof that I can have another vet even look at as my second opinion?? Since, he pointed the finger at himself, I've turned to the Maryland State Board of Veterinary Medical Office in Annapollis for help in retrieving my copy of sonogram, and I suggest this to anyone out there who finds themselves in a similar situation, in the care of their beloved pets. Please Beware!! The woman at the State Board tells me you have a right to request all records and the hard copy of any tests given to your baby, in the State of Maryland. And they have no reason not to see that you receive them in a timely manner. My Maltese has never had any signs of cancer or symptoms...so just where did this baseball size tumor come from and where is it?? Or at least the proof that it was ever in my baby?? My baby has no weight loss ever, has never been seriously ill in his lifetime which is ten years now.....and at the steady weight of only 12 lbs his adult life....don't you think I would have noticed a lump in his small tummy the size of a baseball....Come on folks...I need the proof...they are only making themselves look guilty in my eyes...by holding out the sonogram hard copy...that I can get another vets opinion with....I want and need my hard copy....Or I am calling this to the attention of someone whom can help me out here....and to warn other folks...beware...I've never heard of anything like this ever coming from a professional office, that states they are committed to great care for your pets.....Very unethical, and very unprofessional!! My Maltese by the way, after recovery from this so called necessary surgery to save his life, is back to his oldself with no signs of cancer...just like before 3/17/12....My name is Sonja Moon and my number is 443-326-9978...Thank you one and all, and please beware of folks so untrusting they point the finger at themselves!! Especially your babies Vet!!

Love my dog's doctor, staff is pleasant, can be a little more understanding, but the lobby and exam rooms are DIRTY. Considering a different practice because of this - I don't want to have to worry about if my dog needs surgery for it to be done in a unsanitary surgical environment.

I have taken animals to this vet since I was a teenager. Now almost 50, I have 3 dogs and 4 cats. The staff is always pleasant and very helpful. The separate dog and cat waiting areas are always clean. The staff treats your animal as if it was their own.
I love this place and the staff!!

I have owned dogs my whole life and I have never had a vet office be more problematic. I recently started to vaccinate my dogs with a mobile vet clinic due to the economy and tried using this vet (used to do the vaccines) for bigger items like Dental cleaning. The first time they said they need to give the Bordatella vacine since they would have my dog for a few hours (I'm fine with) and needed proof of rabies vaccination which I gave them. Then they tried to say I never showed proof of the rabies vaccination (obvious due to losing the fax) Finally got my dog in and they seemed to do an OK job with his teeth. They extracted two and never gave him pain pills or antibiotics after. He cried for a day due to the pain. 7 months later my dog needed to have his teeth cleaned again and when I called their office the lady told me before they saw him he would need all of his shots again. I simple said he was current on his shots and had proof. She asked me why I had gone somewhere else to vaccinate him and my other dog to which I explained it was less expensive and as a single mom I need any break I can get. She told me with attitude that it was hard to believe I found cheaper prices than there. I reminded her I needed to make a dental appointment and she told me that they would have to see the dog first and do exams since they don't trust any other vet. SCAM! Who ever heard of this? They just couldn't deal with only getting a dental fee. Doesn't seem like they are there for the animals but more to make a buck. I told her I wouldn't be doing any business there anymore. Don't waste your time with this vet office......

I love everyone at Park Circle. I have 4 dogs and they all go there for shots and check-ups. I have always been more than happy with the service but when my dog Buddy had intestinal issues and became dehydrated, they went above and beyond. He had to stay at the enter on IVs and they were so compassionate and accomodating. He made a full recovery thanks to their quick response and conscientious care. They are super friendly and I recommend them to all of my friends and family. From receptionists to the Vets, it is a small, close-knit group of caring individuals.

I've never had a bad experience with Park Circle. They've been able to help me on all occasions. I've brought several pets to their hospital for sick and well visits. Will continue to visit them!

I just read a review from a lady who had a sad time at Park Circle Animal Hospital. Well, I just happened to be at Park Circle Animal Hospital that day. I heard the lady say she had really old dog that had an unplanned pregnancy and that the dog had been in labor for two days. The client was only in the waiting room for a few seconds before one of the registered technicians took her to a room. The technician explained that all of the regular rooms were full so they were going to an overflow room not normally used. I am sorry that she lost her dog but I even heard them tell her there was no charge. I have been a client there for 25 years and I love it there.

I had an emergency. Smithsburg is my regular vet with Park Circle taking care of emergencies. My Pug "Fancy Jean" had one puppy, the second was still born, and 2 days later she was having contractions. She was listless and lethargic. I called and explained the situation to the woman at Park Circle who with a huff said "I guess, bring her in". Upon entering the office, with Fancy laid on a towel in obvious distress she told me to "just take a seat". The woman I talked to on the phone did not tell anyone I was coming in and no one knew of my situation. Only after another customer in the waiting room yelled at the staff did they take me into their kitchen area and without asking me anything and not knowing Anything, they just stuck their hand up Fancy to get the puppy out. Within 5 minutes Fancy was dead. The vet I usually see at Smithsburg was there and she did seem generally upset but I can't believe the actions of the plump woman with the short blond hair who took my call and seemed oblivious to the situation. YOU should NOT be working in a vets office. I changed my vet the same day. I wouldn't take a cock roach to you people.
