I had been taking my cocker spaniel to Dr. Peralta the last 2 years when we moved to this area and now she was having pain in her rear that escalated to such a severe degree, biting and constantly licking her genitals besides "scooting" her bottom on the rug. I kept asking him to ??express? her at every exam for a year and because I thought she was having difficulties and the symptoms seemed obvious. After a previous exam revealed she had "hip dyplasia" he related all her issues to pain from the dysplasia. He wouldn??t prescribe meds for unknown reasons even when pain was obvious. At this last exam she was panting and spinning around. I begged him for some medication to give comfort to her since she didn??t sleep for 2 months straight and to be ??expressed?. He said no to meds and she didn't need to be expressed.

His final constant dodging moved me to immediately find another nearby vet and make an appointment. The new vet??s diagnosis was swift- severe infected anal glands (not a wonder) my poor dog had to be sedated immediately and her glands expressed and irrigated (leaked blood and pus for 3 days). They told me they had never seen a dog that swollen and in such an infected condition. Now I have no idea why Dr. Peralta did not want to express my dog when I specifically asked him every exam but his manner was condescending and him indifferent to my dog's well being. And during this whole ordeal he kept telling me that my dog needed her teeth cleaned and a cyst removed from her chest. If she was in pain from this issue why would I have him operate and create more pain. Yes, his place looks shabby, but check out the vet's car because he is driving a Mercedes and at this time he didn't even have a staff, go figure. I wouldn??t take any pet to Dr. Peralta (New Hampshire Animal Hospital) that is my opinion, my dog is still recovering and its been 2 months since we changed vets. By the way, he is not an old guy by any means. Thank goodness the new vets (Marymont Animal Hospital, check my review) were able to help her in time.

The Vet refused to give me a prescription for the heartworm of my choice because "I don't sell that brand" even though I paid for the visit and the shots. I was asking for Revolution which covers both heartworm and fleas and ticks. There are better Vets around, I don't trust him.

Dr. P is great. Like the other review, the bldg. is a little bit old looking. But the treatment within is beyond any other Vet I've ever been to. They are informative and thorough. Dr. P made sure my "Yogi" a male mini-schnauzer, gets the best of care and at a really reasonable price. I will use him for all my pets, as long as I live in Montgomery County or surrounding areas.Highly recommend him.

My experience here was ood. The building looks a little shabby on the outside and the inside is small but clean. The staff is nice and the vet handled my cat very well.
