Went there this evening (2nd time there - once for lunch). Lunch itself had been marginal but service was good. This evening was a study in how bad food and service could be. Service was horribly slow - even though the restaurant was close to empty. We were seated cheerfully in less than a minute. It took 8 mins. for the waiter to come by to get our drink order. Another 8 mins to actually get the drinks - we also asked for water which never did come. I finally went to the bar to get the water since our waiter was nowhere in sight. The bar was empty except for one customer, the bartender and a wait person who had come to fill an order. The waiter nodded in reply to my request, spent the next 4-5 mins. cleaning glasses and then spent the following 2-3 mins. chatting with another wait person who had walked up (just to chat apparently). So after about 6-8 mins after my request he gets to the water and says to me while motioning with his hands held high "Sorry man, priorities are way up here" moves his hand down very low and says "water is way down here.." The same bartender informed the people at next table a while later that "they didn't pay him enough to be pleasant" It took 35 mins to get our two plates of food. Finally the food came: taco, some enchiladas, tamales and beans with rice. Taco's were a shade better than Taco Bell, enchiladas flat and pasty while the tomitio sauce on the tamales was unrelentingly sour. Black beans were half way to re-fried although some feta (?) cheese on top worked well with the beans. The food was warm but not anywhere near hot. Ate in less than ten minutes which included spending half the time finishing the salsa and chips which were far better than the actual meal - although the salsa itself is a little odd, giving the appearance of being fermented while not actually tasting as bad as it looked.
Waited around some more for our waiter to come by - about 15 mins later he strolled by to check on the next table - saw us as an afterthought and offered us boxes for our left over food. We thought about it and said what the heck, the beans weren't too bad. He brought the boxes back about 5 mins later and asked us if we wanted dessert (no!), then asked us if we wanted our check (yes!). He never did come back with it and we finally headed toward the door after my wife saw him off in a side part of the restaurant chatting it up with a buddy. I've noticed that looking like you are leaving works when you'd like to get your check and it's taking an unreasonable amount of time to get it. Got our check with an invitation to fill out an online survey to get $5 off of a $10 purchase. I won't be taking advantage of the coupon but I will be filling out the survey.

We at Chevy's and had a good experience. The restaurant was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I ordered the Fajitas and they were very good. I would recommend going to Chevy's for a nice meal

If you're looking for good Mexican food, the search stops at Chevy's. I always order the same thing--the Fajitas. They are served steaming hot on the grill. The portions are huge so be sure to come with a large appetite. They don't like you to share one dish (the portions are that big), but there's always enough to take home for later or for lunch the next day. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is pretty attentive.

Staff is iffy sometimes, but usually good. It has a habit of taking an extremely long amount of time to get your meal but when received, very good and fresh! The salsa is made fresh every hour but sometimes can be too hot or have alot of skins and seeds. If you like hot, you'll love their salsa! Great homemade tortillas too!

Editorial from

This restaurant chain offers kitschy just-North-of-the-Border decor, bright and vivid colors, and some good Mexican fare. We always judge by the chiles rellenos, and these are cheese filled, batter dipped, and best of all, reasonably…
