The Best of the Best!  5 Star Rating - World class

John Thurston and KT instruments built a custom one of a kind guitar for me in 1984. What a great guitar! After playing it for 24 years I have found nothing I like the feel of better, including PRS. I know that's saying a lot but they are really that good. I stopped playing for some time but when I got her out, cranked up my Marshall stack, she just came alive like I never stopped playing. I'm looking forward to hook up with John very soon. There is nobody I would trust more to work on my seven guitar's then John. If you are lucky enough to find a KT Guitar buy it. I don't think you will be sorry! I have posted a photo of her for all to see

I love my original KT!!  5 Star Rating - World class

I bought a KT strat-style electric from Washington Music Center in the early-mid 80s. Mine was (according to Levins) a prototype KT guitar, either the first or one of the first they got to sell. I picked it over a Fender "The Strat" - it just played and sounded better. 20+ yrs later, it is still rock solid. Mine has the original 3 SD p'ups w/ mini switches, and sounds better through my vintage Vibrolux than the Lab Series L5 amp I owned at the time. What a great guitar!!

I just located John Thurston on this website and hope to make a pilgrimage to Catonsville to meet him and reunite my KT with its maker very soon!

"World Class" Is An Understatement...  5 Star Rating - World class

John Thurston is not only a master luthier, but a great human being. Always willing to go the extra mile, and never rests until the job is done right...which is always the first time!!!! I've been a loyal customer for about ten years and cannot imagine trusting my instruments to anyone else.

Ethical and gifted  5 Star Rating - World class

I have taken my Gibson, my only acoustic, the one I make money using, to John Thurston and have always gotten first-rate service. Once, I had an unusual buzz and after looking it over and talking to me for twenty minutes, he told me it didn't need anything and put lock-tite on some nuts that were inside the body. It turned out it was a humidity-related problem.

My point is, I'm not one of "his guys" and he probably wouldn't know my name without looking me up in his file. He treated me ethically and not incidentally, does first-rate work.
