Celebree Learning Ctr is fine with me
by a b.
my 2 yr old has been at celebree for almost a year and there was a biter (anonymous) in her class. she was bitten 9 times since she's been there and we were tempted to change day-cares because she started to bite herself. It did not stop until a specific child was disenrolled. I'm sorry your children were dis-enrolled, but i don't think my girl should have to take that. Obviously, it was the only solution. P.S., she does not bite herself anymore and has never bitten anyone else.

Celebree Learning Ctr, great staff
by y l.
We enroll our baby in the Ellicott City, Celebree learning center. The staff is great, very patient, and loving.
My only complaint is they donot provide lunch. The toddler room is small without windows. But the staff is all I care about. I wouldnot turn my baby to anybody that I donot trust. I visited other daycares. They may have better facilities and bigger playgrounds. But the staff is not as loving to kids as I saw in Celebree.

We anticipate Loving Celebree
by K R.
We are enrolling our daughter in the Celebree Learning Center in Ellicott City. After touring many facilities, I felt at home and a sense of relief soon after walking through their door and meeting the first staff member which happened to be the Asst. Director of the facility. Everyone seems very nuturing and knowledgeable. My daughter was invited to join the Pre K activities and she blended right in with her group. After speaking with the Pre K teacher, hearing her method of teaching, and seeing how she interacted with her class, I was completed sold. Celebree is a comute for us but well worth it.
I feel empathy toward the parents who's children were asked not to return (to other Celebree facilities) because of biting and discipline issues but they should place theirself in the other parent/childs place- I would be livid if my child kept coming home with bite marks or was not receiveing the attention that I am paying for because of another childs discipline issues. Biting is a behavior that SOME children exiibit but it is not the norm and it should not be accepted as such. Celebree has a motto to educate, nuture, protect. Persistent discipline/safety issues interfere with their ability to provide these services to the other families and it was appropriate for these children to be removed.
I look forward to sending my child to this center.

Eye off the Ball

Mr. Huffman opened daycare to follow in his mothers footsteps. She has two centers for over 25 years. He has 15 or 16 in a shorter time. Perhaps he should slow down and concentrate on quality care and not quantity. The staff is most important. They are with our children every day all day. More time should be spent on their continuous training and monitoring than opening the next school. His mom has the right idea. This center is too much business and not enough caring and comfort to the children's needs.

Very poor child care
by Don K.
My son is 14 mos old & recently starting biting a boy in his class. After a couple incidents, Celebree decided to seperate the boys, which my husband & I agreed with, hoping that my son would outgrow this phase. After 1 week of no incidents, my son bit another classmate. I was called that day (Friday) & told that my son needed to picked up immediately for the safety of the other children & that a conference would be set up when we got back into town on Monday to discuss the steps to take to control the biting. I was also told by the director that if the biting did not stop, it would lead to disenrollment. I took my son to school that Monday and was told right then that he was no longer wanted at the center....NO NOTICE WHATSOEVER!!!!!! They offered us a spot at the Fallston location & we just laughed. If this is how they handle a "very normal habit that toddlers develop" (those are the exact words of all 3 directors from the week before) then we wanted nothing to do with Celebree at all. One director even gave me an article on how common biting is & that it's simply a phase. Naturally, when we spoke to the area director, Perry Hall had done nothing wrong. He even disclosed to us that the director knew on Friday that they were disenrolling our son but she didn't tell us that b/c she didn't want to ruin our vacation. Protect, Nurture and Educate......not once did they offer to work with us on this. We are working now to ensure that we are reimbursed for our last week's tuition as well as the deposit for fall. My husband even called another Celebree location to speak to the director and she was apalled at the way Perry Hall handled our little biter.

Left us in the lurch
by Chris W.
Our 4 year old son was having some behavior issues and we were asked to pick him up from the center early on a Wednesday. The next day (Thursday) they scheduled a parent/teacher conference at 4:30PM. At this conference they told us that they were dis-enrolling our son and his last day would be the next day. As we both work full time we were in a very difficult position to try to find day care for the next week. If we dont find full time day care next week, it will end up costing one of us our job. Thanks Celebree.

We just transferred daycares (due to distance) to Celebree Learning Center in Nottingham. My daughter has went from the Infant II class to the Toddlers I class and they made the transition a comfortable one for my baby. The staff throughout the center are very courteous, understanding and very patient! The teachers are very knowledgable and I have been able to get one on line at moment's notice when I have a concern regarding my daugther's change in behavior. They were quick to spot changes in her behavior and assured me that this is just "phase" she is going through (separation anxiety) and they have formed a team with both me and my husband to make it easier when we drop her off. I love this center!!
PROS: The Staff! Very knowledgable, courteous and PATIENT!!
CONS: High price...but worth to have the best in child care!
