I was not so impressed with the Baltimore Zoo. I went there in October of 2007. It was EXTREMELY hot, and the animal exhibits were very dirty and very small. I was shocked to see the tiger "cage" that was the size of a boxcar of a train. I have been to better.Although it was fun to go on Halloween, there were a few kids activities, it should have been free.

This was the first zoo we took our daughter to. It has very nice animal exhibits, lots of places to eat. and several gift shops. She enjoyed getting to see all the different animals that she would probably never get to see any other way. They have information plaques in front of each exhibit which was very educational.

This zoo is your typical zoo in my opinion. There are lots of different interactive displays that are fun and educational for children. My favorite part is the prairie dogs. It's this huge mound of dirt sectioned off. There are a ton of holes everywhere. And the prairie dogs just run around and pop in and out of holes. The polar bears are another favorite of mine. They have two polar bears with water around them to keep them cool. The best time to actually see them is when the weather is cooler.

PROS: Classic Zoo Easy to Park
CONS: None.

The zoo is a great place to go with friends visitng from out of town, for a family outing, or a first date! The petting zoo is awesome, there are goats, sheeps, cows, and a very vocal but friendly donkey. The chick hatchery is a great hit with kids. The new polar bear habitat is really cool, the bears are much more active. They recently had a bird exhibit where you would walk inside a large aviary and could feed the birds out of your hand as they would fly up to you. The penguin display is really neat, and the penguins are fed at certain times everyday so that you can stop by and watch them eat. It's very fairly priced, and there are sometimes discounts available as well. The children's zoo is a really fun for both children and adults. Hardly ever crowded!

PROS: Not very expensive, fun, a whole days worth of entertainment.
CONS: A lot of walking

I love this zoo. Its definitely not has big as the Philadelphia or Washington DC zoos but thats part of the charm of this zoo. There are tons of exhibits and even a farm style petting zoo. The other nice part is this zoo is mostly on flat ground so no trying to push a heavy stroller uphill and there are plenty of benches. The last benefit is there is a huge parking lot right across the street from the zoo and its free.

The admission is a fair price, I believe $11 per person. I love how they have the monkey exhibits right up front. My favorite thing about this zoo is that they have penguins there. The zoo itself could be cleaner. On they days that I have been the ground had excess trash. A bit of a drive, the zoo is far into the city.

PROS: fair price, penguins
CONS: cleanliness

I recently took my family here and everyone had a great time! Even though the zoo is small, we were worn out by the end of the day. They had plenty of animals to see and things to do. So pack a lunch and plan on spending the day!

Every kid loves to go to Zoo, so does mine. Its just the best place for any kids to n'joy. They have variety of animals in and the one which i like the most is Polar Bear. The most I liked is they have created different envoirnment for all the animals which is suited them the most. They also have special events for hallowen too which makes you and child to visit Zoo again.

This zoo is smaller than most but there are a ton of exhibits to see. The parking was free when we went and the ticket price was very reasonable. The zoo was very easy to manuever even with a stroller. My child was approximately 2 years old when we went and he loved how close he could get to all the animals.

The Baltimore Zoo was a lot of fun, with nice walking paths (although a bit hilly, so be careful if you have anyone who needs to be pushed or has trouble walking) and overall good exhibits. Having just gone to the National Zoo in DC, I thought this one was actually very comparable (though smaller). The kids really enjoyed the time there, but it was a bit pricey, especially considering the National Zoo isn't that much farther and is free. The employees and volunteers are extremely nice and helpful, and really seem to love and know their job - they answered every question we threw at them! You might consider a family membership before you go, it could save some money. Also be aware that it is closed in Jan and Feb (along with select holidays) so make sure it's open before you go. Also it closes around 4:30 I think, so just make sure that you have enough time! Definitely worth going, especially if you don't want to drive - my kids' favorites were the polar bears and the monkeys!

We were pleasantly surprised to find this zoo. They have a ton of animals but the zoo is not so expansive that you are exhausted at the end of the day. it is easy to do with little children and they don't get too tired out. Parking is great and not far from the entrance. I find this a better alternative than the washington, dc zoo.

The Baltimore Zoo is worth checking out. It isn't as big as some of the zoos Ive been to, but there are a lot of animals, a petting area, and a kids area. There is a mini-train you can take (which is fun for the little ones). The reptile house is a little disappointing. It is small, and it isn't exactly "in" the zoo. You have to walk a bit to get there. The monkey house is great, and so is the hippo house (just a little stinky). The food is overpriced, so bring your own lunch.

We've had a family membership for two years and take advantage of it often. The zoo is well shaded and has a wonderful children's section. The zoo has gentle hills and surprises around every corner, making it a fun exercise walk. It is always undergoing improvements, and the new Polar bear exhibit is great. A wonderful zoo.

As zoos go, this one is pretty good. I was there recently during the holidays, when they have holiday lights and figures up throughout the zoo, and between the animal exhibits and things. It was a nice evening, though difficult to see most of the animals, even with the spot lights they had on them (poor animals). I think only the polar bears were enjoying the eveing more since it was chilly.
