I have hired J.S. Smith twice now and they do exceptional, quality work. As a matter of fact, both times went above and beyond my expectations. The plumber they sent out knew exactly what the problem was within 2 minutes of hearing my story and had all working perfectly within the hour. The second situation - electrician fixed the problem I was having - noticed a second problem & fixed it for free - which saved me hundreds of dollars. I would highly recommend this company. Knowlegeable, courteous, professional.

I just had a Rinnai tankless water heater installed by JA Smith. Not only were they courteous and helpful (they interfaced with BG & E to increase my gas line), the work was high quality. Showed up on time, made sure I knew what was involved - no surprises. I am very satisfied and would recommend them for any plumbing job.

Not long after buying my mobile home, I noticed water in a pit under my house. I contacted the park management because I thought one of the many underground springs in the area had bubbled up under my house. Management apparently has a sweetheart deal with J.A. Smith Plumbing, and called them to diagnose the problem.

Long story short, they declared that allllll that water came from -- get this -- a LEAKY HOSE PIPE, located 2 or 3 feet AWAY from this hole! They billed me for replacing 3 feet or less of 3/8" PVC pipe, along with the insulation around it (they claimed it was soaked through) and the section of heat tape that keeps it from freezing in the winter (they claimed it was worn). Total damages: EIGHTY BUCKS?!

Well, surprise surprise, the water in the pit didn't go away. Still convinced that the park was trying to weasel out of spring-related repairs, I called them again. Once again, they sent me the whizbangs from J.A. Smith. THIS time, they decided my problem was a BROKEN WATER METER (why didn't they notice that BEFORE?!)... to the tune of OVER THREE HUNDRED BUCKS!

In their defense, I must say that the repaired water meter took care of the problem.

BUT...

Later that summer, my husband had the hose pulled around the house, spraying insecticide under the house to combat the spiders that the exterminator missed (I'll probably be reviewing them too!)... AND THE HOSE PIPE BROKE! This section of pipe that they allegedly replaced -- charging me $80 for the privilege -- looked just as old and brittle as the rest of my water pipes! GRRRR!!

To make matters worse, my husband is chemically sensitive, and he couldn't even take a shower or hose himself off until I went to the home improvement store and got replacement parts! (Murphy's law... the broken hose pipe was spewing water straight into the air conditioner! We had to turn off the water to the whole house to make it stop.)

I firmly believe J.A.Smith charged me for work they didn't do. I'm still tr
