This school used to be full of amazingly wonderful and nice students. It has changed a lot over the years. Now, tons of them are slacking off and skipping school. The good thing is that the academics are great. It is one of the best schools in the country.

Ahhhh PHS, home of the Panthers. This school has recently been recognized as one of the 100 best public high schools in America (I think #99 actually). Not that it isn't a great school, but a LOT of its accolades are the work of Principal Dorothy Hardin, who, within the school, is regarded as a great politician who knows how to get in the spotlight but has no real passion for the students. As a PHS grad, I can say that I really don't like her much at all, and I know a lot of the faculty feels/felt the same way. I use the word felt because the elite teachers are dropping like flies, either transferring or retiring. She has also spearheaded the utter destruction of the art program, which I loved in my day. It's a joke now, I wish you could see it so you knew what I mean. It makes me depressed.
The student body is becoming increasingly more "ghetto," the teaching staff is getting worse, the art program is all but extinct, and the atmosphere is just on the downslide. But still, Dotty Hardin gets Principal of the Year, and everyone else thinks the school is great.
