I needed -ve stars to rate this dealer. This one is TRUELY a NIGHTMARE. Never ever think of doing business with these guys if you want a peaceful life. They do not know the first thing about ethics of business. Every single word they uttered while selling the car to us were FALSE. They are very friendly when they sell a car to you, but the moment the paperwork is done, they are a completely different animal.

1. Firstly, when we purchased our car, the visor lights were not working. We were told that they will be fixed the very next day. After purchase their words totally changed. They did not fix it as that would have cost them more than they had anticipated. When we asked the concerned manager whether he is going to keep his words, he frankly said "I am breaking my promise". Just imagine !

2. Within our warranty period the engine light had turned on several times. We had to drag ourselves to the dealer again and again, and guess what, we were NOT surprised as we had again been treated in the same dishonest manner. They had put some kind of temporary fix just to turn off the engine light. There was a major problem - a vacuum pipe was leaking - and they did not disclose it, nor fix it. As a result of this the engine light turned on again just after the warranty expired. We then uncovered the true reason by taking it to a different mechanic. It could have been a life risk, really !

3. We had purchased an "Environment Package" for $1155 which was supposed to cover all kinds of rusting, painting, waxing problems. We were very specifically told that it would cover paints coming off due to acid rain or similar stuff. But now that something like that has happened and our paint is actually coming off, we again went to the dealership, and funnily enough it seems nobody is familiar with an "Environment Package" anymore. Nobody seems to know what it covers, and who is the relevant authority to take care of it. Is this a joke? $1155 for nothing!!! These guys are such a big FRAUD.

It is our worst nightmare to do business with this dealership. Please stay away from them.

I stopped by here with my sister to negotiate a deal on a 2010 sonata. We met with David Givens who started out pleasant till I mentioned that we had a competitive offer from another dealership in VA and needed to see if they could match it -- thats when his whole attitude changed. He proceeded to make all kinds of snide remarks from -- "you have lost your mind" to "what are you doing here...you should be in VA taking the deal". I decided to ignore the remarks and take the car for a test drive.

After the test drive, the snide remarks from David continued -- this time he told me that I was "greedy" for requesting competitive pricing. But I held my ground and told him we had a specific monthly payment in mind and needed to be at certain price point and interest rate for that to happen so I insisted that he needed to let me know how close they could get to said price point that way we dont waste anyones time in lengthy finance discussions....and that is when David lost it. He berated me for daring to question how things should proceed at the dealership and his many years of experience selling cars. He said I was ignorant of how financing worked and was "talking in the clouds". He said the payment calculator I used was useless and insisted that he had to run everything through "the computer" and let finance do their "magic" before he could discuss pricing. Realizing he was about to engage us in a lengthy process so we could not leave, I told him we had to know in 15 mins what their best offer was and thats when David literally slammed the file shut and asked us to leave the dealership!

Charles Anene who is a nice guy, saw what happened and came out to my car to apologize and talk us into coming back but at that point, I had made up my mind that I was done with college park hyundai. I proceeded to the VA dealership and bought a clean 2011 sonata with 27K miles for $1,500 less than the deal college park was offering me on an older model 2010 sonata with 46K miles.

If you must use College Park Hyundai, my advice is to stay far far away from the charmer David Givens...he doesnt understand what it means to "compete" for your business and is the classic example of a used car dealer just looking to take advantage of you.

Stay away from this dishonest dealership. The sales team, specifically, Charles A., is disorganized, disingenuous and totally apathetic. They showed minimal flexibility and customer service and Mr. Anene went to the extend in which he wrote insulting emails to me after I had purchased a new vehicle, with cash. They, sadly, fit the stereotype of a cheap used car dealership, whose only concern is the quick buck at the expense of customer service. Go to Fairfax or any other dealership in the area; but avoid this business like the plague.

I must say, Jennifer and Patti in the accounting and finance departments at this dealership are intelligent and professional. Sadly, the opposite is true of the sales and management department. They are the dullest tools in the shed.

Yesterday was the absolute worst experience of my life in buying a car, or anything for that matter.
My compliant is with College Park Hyundai for its failure to honor their offer (from Glen Alexander) to re-arrange pricing to compensate for a undesired option (in this case $2600 NAV/Sunroof). , failure to honor agreed upon Price Protection Certificate provided by my credit union who was financing the car, failure to honor a 3 day offer to return (provided by the Sales Manager), and failure to disclose that all their cars carry a dealer installed appearance package that inflates the price by nearly $1500.

Two days prior,?and After phone calls, and nearly a dozen emails with College Parks MGRs Aileen Jorss, and Raegan Hairston were will still with no solid pricing, however after a message from their Todd Alexander, who said they would deal on compensating us for the undesired $2600 NAV package we finally decided to drive out Monday (memorial day), cash in hand prepared to finalize a price.

We arrived and immediately had to wait. We spoke to Allise, and indicated to her that we wanted to have a competitive price, or else we had to leave to catch another dealer from closing. After they then proceeded to give us the runaround long enough so the other dealer had closed, the provided a price that was far ant a way above anything we had seen previously.

With My fiance in tears, we got up and walked out. Allise asked we stay, to which we replied no. the sales manager came out to our car and asked for us to come to his office and he would make things right, We reluctantly agreed and went to his office. He took a few hundred off their over inflated price, but it was still at least $2000 over what we had planned to pay based upon their previous concessions over the phone. We got up to walk again.

The sales manager offered a 3 day return guarantee, and said he??d even put it in writing. He said he could do this because he was confident he would have the best pricing.
We sat and thoughy about it a while. Knowing it was now too late to go to another dealer, we began negotiating again.

We thought we were about to settle on 24,500 (24,000 was our previous offer) but then was told that they would want 600 more. I said no, the fiance said yes. (what would you do???)

She said she would do the deal. I said I could not live with getting pressured into a bad deal. But she said she would do it. 2 hrs later she was crying again as they would not allow her to take possession of the car, and on top of that , not only did they charge her the 24,500 plus 600, but they added a 780 destination charge , (previously this was part of the 24,500 price.)
I was livid. She was crying, and crying, To appease her, I decided to buy the car for her knowing that if we did find a better day within 3 days we could return it.

College Park then delayed our processing another hour and let me just sit. By now its 10pm, and they had closed at 9pm. Finally I was before the finance person, and signed papers for what seemed like hour. When the contract came up to sign, I inquired about the 3 day return verbiage. She said she had not been instructed to put any on, and quite frankly, had never previously been asked to do so.
She called in the sales manager for clarification. He acknowledged that he had made the offer, but had assumed that he no longer required it, and then stipulated it was no longer on the table. It was not nearly 10:30pm (on a holiday with work waiting for me in the morning) , I had promised the fiance the car by this point, and we had been there since 4:00pm. I signed the contract, and notated at the bottom that 3 day return had been rescinded. Shortly after the sales manager came in and said I would d have to sign a fresh one without mention of the previous offer. Under pressure (perhaps duress), I complied so I could get the deal done.

So, here we are, she (my fiance) cried the whole way home, and the next day, ?.and what did I have to show for it, I paid about $2000 more than planned, and more than any other dealer in the whole DC metro area with a similar car would charged. Excuse my bluntness but not how I should have been scr***ed buying a car for the fiance.

6/10/11 - We are quite aware of this customer and situation. Unfortunately ‚??patrickfrommd‚?? does not tell the whole story. There was much communication in a short period of time and we did work to provide the best price. Unfortunately his wife was visibly upset that day, but that did not stem from her experience at our dealership. While this customer has the luxury to write misinformation about his experience, we do not feel it is in our, his, or his wife‚??s best interest to comment further. Heather

College Park Hyundai was terrific! Christopher (our sales person) was careful, caring and professional. Good follow-up and excellent service. From everything to setting up the bluetooth in our car (even though it was closing time Chris and a few others were still there making sure we were completely satisfied!). We traded in our Sonata (which we loved!!) for a new 2011 Santa Fe (which is doing just great!!). The finance deal was great and very professionally handled by Dave. I don't understand the negative reviews on this page--our experience was great.

I was greatly disappointed in how Jason Minard handled my car transaction! After sending him numerous emails
regarding a refund that I should have gotten from the dealership regarding my vehicle transaction, he finally
responded with an email message that basically blew me off.

There is a $300 refund due to me. Jason Minard recited in his email details that were totally different from my transaction. I have my documents regarding the transaction and it is clear that they did not refund me all of my money. If he had taken time to look at my transaction, then he would have realized that an error was made in the refund. Someone made a mistake in the check amount issued to me by $300 dollars... $192.36 was given to me
instead of $492.36.

I have sent a complaint on the Hyundai Dealership Page thru its "contact us" twice and there has been no response.

What's up with this????

I hear they have new ownership, and considering they have some poor reviews on this site, I want to share my experience from today 11/7/10. I drove from DE as they had excellent price listed on new 11 Sonata. Wasn't sure what to expect(surprises!?!), but they delievered on everything they promised including BEAUTIFUL new Sonata at excellent price. Eddie was great to work with, and so was finance manager. I would defintely recommend this dealership.

Bait & Switched me big time. I called to ask if they had any of last year's Sonatas waiting get off the lot (at the time a 2005 Sonata).. "Of course we do! Come on down, we'll test drive one". I drive over. "No. No. No man. We got the new 2006 models. Check it out." I can't recall why I didn't leave right there, but I did negotiate a 2006 LX Sonata with leather seats. They offered it for 26 K ... I promptly called the Rockville dealer I had already visited. Suddenly, their offer came down under 21K. Hmmm. Also, oil changes take a really long time here.

Please let me know when this happened - in 2006? We have been under new ownership/management since January 2010 and are doing much better. While there are still some issues here and there 95% of our sales and service customers are very satisfied. Of course we won't be satisfied until we're at 100%! ~Heather 10-10 - Have not heard from customer. 11-10 - Have not heard from customer

I am very displease with College Park Hyundai went in got a oil change and the same day engine began to knock. Was told by couple gentlemen tried help said needed oil. I was told need get new car or pay $4K new engine. The over reviewer was correct I have left message for GM and to this day never heard back from him. I asked for loaner car don't have any. I am very disappointed with service had there. They normally check your tires pressure and fluid etc when engine noise accured my front drive needed air light came on. It stated on my receipt it tires where check, I am not sure if they were or not. I have been dealing with this service department for years and could have thought they would assist me better.

I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata from College Park Hyundai on August 25 2010. I brought my teenage daughter with me only to take a test drive. They didn't have the color or features I was looking for, so of course they were not going to let me leave without something. After the pitch I decided to purchase the vehicle.Only to find out that the internet price was quite lower than what they wanted me to purchase, I was not able to get any discounts, including their own discount coupon advertised on their website. The old bait and switch move. I was then held for 6hrs for them to get me financed. It was after midnight before the finance department did what ever they wanted to let me leave with the car. They made all kinds of promises about the my trade in value, the payoff, my monthly payment and worse, my monthly payment.!!Then there was problem with the payoff for my trade-in. I made three separate trips to the dealership for more paper work that I had already completed. They still have not paid off my vehicle and now it is past due!! I regret even trying to purchase a HYUNDAI!!! much less from College Park Hyundai. The salesman are friendly, but where will that get you if you HATE the car.

I regret even trying to purchase a HYUNDAI!!! much less from College Park Hyundai. The salesman are friendly, but where will that get you if you HATE the car.

On July 31st close to closing time I purchased a new 2011 Hyundai Azera from College Park Hyundai. Unfortunately I discovered the following morning in daylight that the car had not been "cleaned" and made ready for me. While I cleaned off all the windows - interior and exterior, the leather interior had not been addressed.

I promptly contacted College Park Hyundai speaking with Rick the sales manager - I found him to be very polite and professional and honest. He understood my concern and offered me the chance to bring in the car for cleaning. I don't live near the dealership but wanted my car cleaned anyway. In the few days that past, I discovered the wheels needed an alignment - I found this strange given the car had 4 miles on the odometer when I took it for a test drive and I took it home that night. College park Hyundai gave me prompt courteous service regarding the wheel alignment.

However, I was not happy with the leather cleaning as I once again discovered when I got home the car had not been cleaned. However, the dealership sent the car across the street for cleaning. I immediately contacted Rick and the following Tuesday the assistant service director came to my place of employment, picked up my car, took it back and made certain the car had been cleaned to my liking. He even brought a bucket and microfiber towel just in case. And, they topped off my gas tank as well.

The bottom line: I was treated nicely and given good service. I have read quite a few negative responses about this dealership and I cannot agree with what has been written. I would recommend them to Rick. Then again, I had done my research ahead of time thus there was no "haggling". We agreed to everything including the trade in value of my old SUV over the phone and I went in and made the purchase. It was that easy.

I purchase a car on 7/10/2010 and maybe the business is under new management because the services were great. I recommend everyone to ask for Willie (Sales Representative) because he made the process a lot easier. I guess new management focus on honest and customers because everyone was friendly. Being in the military I learn we are a great reference to other members, so I'll recommend College Park Hyundai to others. So far so good. O' and the vehicle to magnificent....

College park Hyundai Service is awful. I have taken my car to them on several occasion and every time they can't duplicate the problem. The last straw came today when they were paid by my extended warranty company to repair my seat warmer and refuse to complete the repair. I was told that the part had to be ordered and they would call me when it was ready. Well they never called. When I called back I was told that in their records the repair had already been done. They refused to pull the paperwork to show that I never signed a completed work order. Don't trust them, DON'T USE THEM!!!

I hope someone finds this useful. I purchased my hyundai sonata 6 months ago, i had the 100,000 manufacturers warranty, i also purchased the power train warranty for $1,300.So today i went to a drive thru and wound down my window,i tried wounding it back up and it wouldn't go up. So i went to the dealership, thinking since my car was still under 100000miles i will be covered at no cost. I was charged $109 , i was so pissed especially for the inconvenience and the fact that my infant was in the car with the glass down for 25miles. And then i found out that there had been a recall on the brakes and nobody even contacted us. They can do better and follow through on their warranty. A good name is better than money.

PLEASE READ ALL THESE REVIEWS,BEFORE ANYONE SHOPS FOR A CAR THERE. BUYER BEWARE! This dealership is a joke! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY HAVE NOT BEEN SHUT DOWN. THE GIRL IN FINANCE HAS NO IDEA WHAT SHE IS DOING. IT'S BEEN MORE THAN 2 WEEKS AND SHE STILL CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO PICK UP THE LOAN... SO, I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT I'LL HAVE TO BRING BACK THE CAR. EVEN THOUGH, WE SIGNED ALL THE PAPERWORK ,AND HAVE A BANK THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO PICK UP THE LOAN, ON OUR PAPERWORK.... OH YEAH, HOW ABOUT THEY ALSO CHARGED ME $2000.00 MORE FOR THE CAR THAN AGREED. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO SELL ON INTERNET PRICE FOR $11,8. NOT $13,8.... OF COURSE, I HAD TO TAKE OFF WORK THE NEXT DAY ... GO IN TO HAVE THE PRICE CORRECTED....I COULD GO ON! POINT IS, STEER CLEAR!!!!

I purchased a car from them and it turned out to be a piece of junk. The car died while I was still paying on it and I actually had to go to court with them over the warranty. They are just cruddy. I traded my old car in when I made the purchase. It was an older car in good condition. They stripped the car of most of its part and left it abandoned on the side of the road in Montgomery county. I found this out when I received a ticket in the mail from Montgomery County police fining me for stripping and abandoning my car on the side of the road.

I should have looked at these reviews before I went in there. I bought a new car there anyway. Though they had an unlimited power train warranty available at no extra charge the car itself was overpriced by at least $1,000. The finance manager at the time (who is no longer there) gave me incorrect information on the extended warranty regarding pricing and financing of the extended warranty. I was told that I could come in before I had 3,000 miles on my car and still purchase the warranty at 0% interest for 12-18 months. When I called about coming in, I was told that this was not the case. So now I have to pay cash or put it on my credit card.BUYER BEWARE.

At first it seemed like everything was going to be great. I found the car I had been looking fo0r online at an unbeatable price. The salesman did a great job and I wanted to purchase the car. All was well up to that point. I then waited another 2 hours before anyone from finance even came over to me. She got a little information and said it should only be five minutes. An hour later she comes back an assures me they are doing their best and should be done soon. An hour after that she finally says that we can go into her office and start filling out things. That process takes about an hour. I sign for a loan through them that is an ok deal and they say they will try and do better. I finally get a call about 2 weeks later with a deal that would have me paying more a month, but when I refuse that deal they tell me the other deal I signed for is no longer on the table, so either to come in and sign the new one or bring the car back. I then went through my bank and got a WAY better rate! They were dishonest about things and had mislead me. I highly recommend AVOIDING this dealership if you can!

I don't know what it is, but whenever I go the College Park Hyundai for service it feels as though I am visiting old friends of mine. I feel at ease when dealing with William, Donald and Danny. Even Donald Smith in the parts department will walk out to your car and put your wipers on and offer you a bottle of spring water. They are very good guys and I would recomend them to anyone that has a car (Not Just a Hyundai)!

I had a light on my dash and went to the dealer. I was greeted right away with a warm friendly smile. The rep was William. He got my car looked at quickly and got the cost covered under warranty. While I waited they even gave me a free bottle of water. I will always go back there and refer my friends there too.

They certainly know Hyundais and have done several important warranty repairs for me, but I've almost never been completely satisfied. I've had to return for them to re-do or re-adjust something they did about half the time. It always takes 1 hour more than they say and their waiting room doesn't have cable TV or WiFi. Worse, they prefer to charge you if they can instead of using the warranty. I've had to argue with the service writers and had the actual techs on my side! But they do stick to their estimates, were fairly polite to me, and will drive you to the Metro station if asked. As long as it's under warranty, it's tough to argue with Free. Otherwise, I'd shop around elsewhere.

I purchased a top of the line vehicle from this dealership, upon leaving that evening I noticed some scratches and promptly return the vehicle the next day. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect by a service department in my ENTIRE LIFE!!! The guy named Ely brushed me off with a wave of his hand, lit a cigarette and loudly told me he was not going to repair the scratches on a brand new vehicle I just purchased the day before and he does not care what I say. Needless to say my salesman Norman Hawkins was condescending to say the least.

Once you're off their lot, they can care less about keeping you as a customer. I've left 4 messages with the general manager Al Zomchoviak (sp?) and he has yet to at least return one of my calls to find out what happened. I will never ever EVER even take my car there to have a nail in my tire removed or even THINK about referring ANYONE TO COLLEGE PARK HYUNDAI.

Signed,

DISGUSTED VERY DISPLEASED Hyundai Owner

I took my Hyundai Tiburon in for transmission service, and it took about an hour longer than they told me.

When I walked in the service folks seemed particularly busy and didn't really pay much attention to me until I started looking agitated. Fairly unprofessional behavior, but not unexpected for a small room packed with 5 people

They were up front about the price, and this is the only place I could get the service I needed (other than one other dealer).

My advice: if you need general non-warranty work on your car, try somewhere else, unless you have time to sit around and wait.

This car dealership is one of a kind. My sales associate, Dori was very helpful. She picked me up from the Metro Station so I was able to buy a car. She helped me get through all the different ordeals with my credit. She was very helpful, as well as the other sales associates at College Park Hyundai. I have a great warranty and I own a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. This is a great dealership.
