We've been going to Carney for over 20 years and have had nothing but great service. We received a letter from Ed yesterday stating that they no longer wish to see us as clients for no obvious reasons. After 20 years of good relations as responsible paying clients we weren't even given the courtesy of being told personally by him or any explanations. One of our dogs has a special medical condition that we have worked extensively with Dr. Andrew over the past 6 years to treat and control and now we have to find another vet and start all over again?

Good luck if you go there and my advice to you is have a backup vet, you may be needing them!!!!!

I took my cat here for the first time when she was very ill. I had seen 3 different vets multiple times each prior to going to Dr. Andrew at the Carney animal hospital. He was the only one that could tell me what was wrong with my baby. the previous vet told me it was a behavioral problem, 3 mths later she is 4 lbs and on her death bed. Unfortunately, I had to put her down due to tumors in her intestines and weak kidneys. This was the most traumatic experience in the world, but Dr. Andrew and his staff made it as pleasant as possible. They didn't charge me for anything else but the unthenization of my cat. They were so caring and gentle with her and thoughtful and compassionate towards me. The even sent me a beautiful card that was handwritten along with 2 lovely poems to help ease the pain. They truly are top of the line in every way and very classy. I will go there for life. Thank you Dr. Andrew and the Carney Animal Staff, you are the best!

Carney Animal Hospital is one of the finest vets that I have been to. Dr. Jendricks picked up on a long-running ear infection on one cat that other vets had missed. My second cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes; Carney had been taking excellent care of him but I recently moved to Ellicott City and the trip around the Beltway with a caterwauling cat wasn't working out. I switched to a local vet, who is lovely, but I would recommend Carney in a heartbeat.

I am so glad I found Dr. Jenkrek and Carney Animal Hospital. Our precious Cookie was very sick when we took her to Dr. Jendrek. We went for a second opinion and unfortunately there was not much that could be done for her. He was so honest and upfront about her condition. He made me feel as if I had been going to him for years. The entire staff was wonderful. We had to have Cookie put to sleep in November 2008. We will be getting a new puppy very soon and will be back to seeing Dr. Jendrek and the wonderful staff.

Dr Jendrek and Dr. Andrew are two top notch vets who are hero's in my book because my dog had a jaw problem that no other vet knew what it was or why she could not close her mouth. Came back home to Dr Andrew, he and his father Dr Jendrek got together and figured out what was wrong with her. As of today she is a happy 12 year old dog who is on meds for her mouth problem. If not for those two, she would have been dead 4 years ago.

Dr. Ed Jendrick is a saint by our standards. On many occassions he has taken care of our dogs (Rosie, Munchkin and Gracie) and cats( Cissy and Cierra).
He is now looking after my daughters dog (Hailey). He is such a compassionate man, kind and considerate and has your loved ones (pets) and your interest at heart. He has saved our Rosie more than once from beening put down. Our Rosie has disk problems being part dachshund and terrier. She was very ill and we were going to cancel our vacation but Dr. Ed said to leave her with him and he would look after her. We did go and called him everyday to see how she was. We came home after four days and Rosie was like her old self. We cannot say enough wonderful things about him or his staff. If you consider your pets as family as we do I urge you don't hesitate, take them to see Dr. Ed you will never take them any where else. HE IS THE MAN!

My 4 month old kitten broke his leg. It was actually a pretty bad break. The doctor basically said that he would need surgery and we were looking at about $3000 up front from a specialist. We were going through a little bit of a financial struggle and had no idea how we were going to pay for it. Our only other option was to get him put down. Dr. Jendrek said that he would keep him and put a cast on his leg until he was healed. I knew that we didn't have the money for it so I initially said no. Dr. Jendrek worked out a great deal with us and helped us tremendously. He is such a kindhearted doctor. The staff there are unbelievable! They are extremely nice and take the time to listen. They also knew how hard of a time we were having and took up a fund and put money towards the payment on the account. I could never thank them enough for all that they do. If you want to go for the best than choose Carney Animal Hospital!

My family has been taking pets to Carney Animal Hospital since the 1970s. I??ve been to a couple different vet clinics with my pets, and have never been as satisfied with the service and general atmosphere as I??ve been with Carney. The staff is friendly; the Veterinarians are thorough, experienced, and knowledgeable. Other practices have given me the ??revolving door? feeling- pet in and out as quickly as possible, whereas Carney has not. Overall, they are very timely, but not rushed. The vets take time to explain all aspects of your pet??s health and various treatment options if applicable. I appreciate their honesty and concern for what??s best for the animal.

I've been bringing my 2 cats to Dr. Jendrick since we moved to Carney back in 1998. My oldest cat has never had better care and we just recently had to put him down, Dr. Jendrick didn't tell me what I wanted to hear, he told me what was best for my cat.
My other cat was a rescue off the city streets at 3 wks. old. I was very pregnant and this cat was infested! Dr. Jendrick insisted on keeping the cat at the hospital until all the flees and various other critters were completely gone. Not only that, but he needed some serious nourishment and vitamin shots. I didn't pay 1 cent for the 2 day stay, nor for any of the initial shots this cat had to have. He is now known as "the miracle cat".
The care at this facility is top notch and unless I move out of state, I am not changing my vet.

I've been to several vets over the years and the doctors Jendrek at Carney have been among the best. They've always given wonderful attention and care to my pets. They never rush through an appointment and always have time for questions and to discuss the pros and cons of various options. I always feel like they've done a complete exam and their manner with us human "parents" is terrific.

My family went to Carney when I was a kid... Dr. Edward Jendrek was the "young associate" to Dr. Schultz. My first pet on my own was an old, torn up tom cat who showed up on my doorstep. Dr. J was great about differentiating between what "had" to be done to nurse the cat back to health, and what I should consider doing. I suspect Dr. J took pity on a poverty stricken college student because, when I transferred to another college and went to another vet, the bills were much, much higher. (I had that cat another 8 years!)

I moved back to Baltimore after 20 years and when I called Carney was so pleased I got an appointment with Dr. Jendrek. How surprised I was that it was Dr. Edward's son, Andrew! And he's proved to be just as kind and through as his dad.

We have used Carney Animal Hospital since 1989 for a series of dear dogs. Dr. Jendrick is compassionate and a skilled surgeon. I am happy to see that his son has followed in his footsteps and also provides great care there. His associate vets are wonderful too. The other caregivers love the critters.
My first dog Fergie was spayed there and they gave us a lot of good advice so we could become great pet owners. They always reminded us to keep shots up to date. When she injured the anterior cruciate ligaments in her knees, Dr. Jendrick repaired them so expertly that she could run and jump again. He is also able to do laser surgery and treated her for a mouth cancer in her later years. When it was time for her to die (at the ripe old age of 14) they helped her go comfortably and helped us by cutting some of her hair and putting it in a small memorial box.
They have helped us when we adopted an abused beagle with GI problems, and now with our 3 yr old crazy beast. My dogs have never been afraid of the vet (except for the beagle who was afraid of everything)-- perhaps the best indicator of a great vet and a great team.

I am so happy we found this vet. The doctor always comes out to greet the pets in the waiting room. He always has time to answer my questions. He seems genuinely interested in each and every "patient" and it seems like he actually remembers us from our last visit. (Not so of my other vet.) There have been times when he could have recommended a pricier treatment but he made suggestions for treating my dog that were just as good but not as pricy. Even the office staff is patient, friendly, and cares about your pet.

Recently my dog broke a toe nail very high up and I had to bring him in for the doctor to look at. My dog actually let him clip this toe nail that he wouldn't let the rest of us even touch. My dog likes this vet and I think he's the best. I recommend Carney Animal Hospital to everyone who asks.

PROS: Genuine caring for your pet.

These people are in the business because they love animals. I went to them to get a second opinion. The Vet was appalled at the service I had received at another clinic. He spent over an hour discussing all the options. I made the appointment to see them thinking that my dogs days were numbered, I left with a whole different attitude (this was almost 3 years ago, my dog is still here) Answered every question I had, and some I didnt think to ask. They offer a special touch that really shows how much they care. Its a father son practice; they have established good community bonds. I would recommend this vet to anyone in need.

I owe so much to Carney Animal Hospital. My dog has Cushings disease, diabetes, and is blind, and the wonderful head vet saved his life numerous times, and he always took time out of his busy schedule to see my dog. When my dog was in danger of dying from kidney stones, the head veterinarian performed surgery and saved his life each time. I put my faith in the good veterinarians at Carney Animal Hospital. Thank you, Dr. Jendrick!
