I make pageant dress for little girls and usually order my fabric online however a few times I've needed organza right away and I found A Fabric Place. It's a nice little family owned store which carries a variety of fabrics including organza the only thing is the few times I have shopped there the price was different everytime and compared to my New York supplier is twice as expensive (which I can't quite understand why a dollar or two maybe but double the cost ridiculous). It's great shop if you are short on time but I would recommend shopping around if you have more time.
I went to "browse" with my two kids because I had an hour until I needed to pick up my husband, and I was delighted by the friendly and attentive staff. I was also amazed at the unbelievably beautiful fabric displayed. everyone was so helpful, and didn't seem at all disturbed by my enthusiastic two and a half year old or my nine month old son. I will definitely go back there (sometime when I have more time and a project in mind!)
This is a fabric shop par excellence, as well as an honest-to-goodness family business, operated by three generations of the same family--a friendly, helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable group of people. The merchandise is material that you probably couldn't find anywhere else within a hundred miles--designer fabrics of top quality, mostly of all-natural fibers hard to find in chain stores. It's definitely not a bargain basement, but their merchandise is worth its price.
A Fabric Place is where you go when you need something special. They have things that you'll never ever see at JoAnn's! Beautiful silks, wools, and imported cottons and the best button selection anywhere. The owners are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable when it comes to fabrics and they never forget a face. I highly recommend this wonderful shop.
