Ratings_icons Huge Showroom

Ryan M.

There is nothing like Mark Downs showroom, it's this place or Office Depot where everything looks or is unappealing. It IS an ugly building, the used section IS cold in Winter, and the roof leaks here and there, but it's like an Easter egg hunt and most of time I visit I find something I like. Some of it does look expensive, but it is explained that depending on condition and who made it, that will effect price, Lots of laminated desks and tons of chairs in new section, and prices seem more than reasonable and start with low pricing and go to the nicer and more expensive styled furniture, all is discounted. The cool thing is so many dif types and layouts are shown it made it easy forour compnay to find what we needed and I feel I got a decent price. NO they dont SWARM you in the showroom but I WAS approached several times and said initially I was just looking. A trip back to the front counter found me an eager and knowledgable sales person. I will definately be coming back.

Ratings_icons Leslie T. You don't know what you're talking about.

This store has never sold, advertised or claimed to have patio furniture. For the past 20 years it's been an office furniture store, nothing else. When you write a review you should at least know which retailer you are talking about! Lonely Planet editors should remove Leslie T's review...

Ratings_icons Worth checking out

If you're shopping around for furnishings for either a business or a home office, this place is worth a look. They have some medium- to high-end stuff in the main showroom, mostly traditional in style and mostly not very discounted. But check out the big rooms full of used furniture. Most of it is rather overpriced (the upholstered stuff almost always needs cleaning or reupholstering) but you can find some good deals if you are diligent.

Ratings_icons Not good

Went to Mark Downs for patio furniture and home furniture but found it excessively expensive. The quality was no better than other stores such as the big retailers, but they charged twice as much. I was not very impressed by the employees attitudes either; they certainly do not work on commission. They barely greeted me as I entered and were not helpful at all. I did not expect such a poor small business experience.

Ratings_icons New and used office furniture

Mark Downs is in an old building with lots of additions, some with no heating---so wear warm clothing if you are shopping during cold weather. They have a lot of new furniture on the main floor, much of it in the medium to high price range. The sales people are helpful. In the side rooms and upstairs there are vast quantities of used desks, consoles, credenzas, executive chairs, sten chairs, side chairs, bookcases---you name it! Condition ranges from very good to rather beat up. Prices on the new stuff are discounted. The used stuff always seems a bit high in price to me for what it is. Easy parking.
