Let me start out with three major concerns. They are as follows:
1. Terrible facilities
2. Pool is almost always closed due to repairs
3. Unfriendly staff.
I have been a member of a few different gyms in my area and I have to say that they are the worst. Save your money and go elsewhere.

My experience with Gold's Gym has been THE WORST GYM EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!!! Don't make the mistake my husband and I made. DON'T JOIN THIS DUMP. The business practices are highly unethical, the staff is rude beyond belief and the facilities are cramped, filthy and outdated.

There are no polite words to say how the gym has gone down hill over the last five years. They cannot pay their bills, so the pool is not open often, staff end up quitting after they go for months with out getting a paycheck, and the equipment is not maintined. You certainly get what you pay for. In switching to Merritt, I am paying double the price (65 mo), and it is worth every penny. The staff are contineuly there, know your name and are polite. Beware if you try to leave golds..you are locked in till the end of the year...they renew on an annual basis. I guess they need to find a way to stay open...All of my friends have left and gone to the MAC, Merritt, or Brick Bodies and seem much happier. Walk the track before you join this place, they couldnt pay me to come back.

Don't join this gym if you are interested in using the pool; it's often closed and the lifeguards are frequently missing from their post. In the gym itself there is a nice variety of machines, HOWEVER, they are usually poorly maintained or down-right broken and the look of the place is generally a mess...plus I'm not sure if there's even a working air conditioning system. On the plus side, it IS one of the cheaper gyms in town...but, be warned, you get what you pay for!

This is the worst gym I've ever gone to. The pool is frequently closed, the hot tub hasn't been open in several months, equipment is frequently broken or partially-operational. Staff don't seem to care whether you are there or not. It has a new smoothie bar, big deal. If you are serious about getting in shape, buy a good pair of sneakers - they will be much more reliable than this place.

My wife and I recently joined the Gold's in East Towson. We have been very dissappointed all around. We are regular gym goers, and have found it hard to stay motivated going to a dirty gym, that is often overcrowded, and when you do find a open machine it is often broken. I would say stay away if you want to enjoy your work outs. Very overpriced for what you get.

If you want to join a gym join Brick Bodies, or Merritt. The Gold's in East Towson, is dirty, the machines are broken, and don't get repaired, the classes are poor and behind the times. Not to mention that the staff are not well qualified, and they do not have one certified personal trainer working there. Don't waste your money go down the road!

We recently left Brick Bodies because we wanted to be in a more "multi-cultural" environment gym. We have since joined Gold's Gym in East Towson/Parkville and we love it there! It's more of a multi-cultural gym and very family oriented. The staff who signed us up (Andrew) was very polite and explained everything in detail. They offer a variety of classes and the childcare staff is very sufficient! I love the amount of cardio machines they have, so we never have to be on a time limit and can take our time putting 100% into our workouts!!
PROS: multi-cultural, family-oriented, and plenty of cardio machines!
CONS: currently under construction, so women's bathroom hard to get through!
