I have taken my black lab to Fells Point Pet about 2 times. The first time it was just okay. She came back very shaken, but seemed to bounce back right away. She was clean and shedding less, so I assumed her attitude was due to how long she had been there. I was asked to drop her off at 9 and pick her up at 2. She was EXTREMELY thirsty when I brought her home. Apparently, she was never giving any water. The second time, I was 9 mths pregnant and needed her to be washed. This time was much worse. She came home dank a bunch and went to bed for the rest of the day. She is normally a VERY active dog. The lethargy was completely out of character. The next 3 days she winced when touched, cried out if patted on the back, and refuxed to eat. We took her to the vets and realized that she probably got a chemical burn and had been brushed too hard. Her skin was broken, red, swollen, and bruised all over her back and hips. Don't take your dog to FPP. It might be cheap at $45, but it's not worth it.

I made my appointment to have my Labrador bathed. They had me bring him in at 8:30 AM, said he would be ready at 2. He wasn't ready until 3:30. The lady would not get him out of the back even though he was crying until I paid her, she wanted to chat. When he was let out and I bent down to hug him I noticed under his collar was another collar that was so tight I am surprised he wasn't choking and coughing. I had asked if he had been out to go to the bathroom and she said oh no he has slept all day. When I finally got out of there he ran the entire way home, and drank water for 10 minutes, and of course peed the entire way back! As most people feel, this is our baby. He is not hard to handle so there was no reason for the collar to be on so tight. He is 8 years old and if he didn't have to pee all day I wouldn't have take him to the park every 2 hours, I also fill his water bowl 3 to 4 times a day, this day he had no water all day! I was furious that such a sweet dog or for that matter any dog would be treated like this. Then to pay $45.00 for his bath really made it worse, of course I can't imagine if they would have trimmed his nails or cleaned his ears what they may have done to him. If you love your dog as much as we do this is not the place to go!

Diane, the owner has been in business for years and she keeps her customer base small enough that she can personally groom every animal. Opposite from the larger pet centers she know you and she knows your dog's likes and dislikes. You animal's grooming will always be perfect, but that comes second compared to the love and affection she will show your animal. Moving from Pennsylvania to Baltimore, I tried several groomesr. Once I found Fells Center Pet Center I knew I'd found my perfect groomer.
