Krohs Nursery Incorporated

Krohs is a cross between a garden center and a nursery, with lots of great perennials. Their selling point for me was really their expertise and ability to special order plants. We needed a good ground cover to cover large areas, in a fairly dry and sunny location, and the owner immediately told us we would have problems with the wild strawberry our landscape designer had selected. He recommended a small variety of deutzia we had never heard of, and it was quite expensive for peat pot size plants. But they have been perfect. They are now huge (3' across), green, take heat, dry, rain, whatever, and are so healthy. We had over 300 to plant, and probably a 90% success rate.

We have used Kroh's many times to plan areas. When we needed 30 Stella Dora day lilies, they did not have them, but had an alternate in stock that has turned out to be a real winner.

A few suggestions made as alternative to plants we wanted they did not have in stock have not worked out, especially a type of dwarf bamboo. However, most have been wonderful, and they are always happy to sit down and plan and order.

They also keep a computerized list of what you have purchased, so they can refer to it at any time if you need help.
