I really enjoyed working with Fred and Ashley at J. Brown Jewelers to purchase an engagement ring for my fianc. They were both patient and knowledgeable. To help get the most out of my budget Fred even had a loose diamond over-nighted. Both me and my fianc are very happy with the ring. The center diamond is beautiful and the setting really suits her personality. Looking forward to coming back in a few months to get our bands.

Recently, we gave our daughter a beautiful necklace that we purchased at J. Brown's. Initially, they didn't have the necklace in store but went out of their way to get it in for us. When my daughter opened it, she exclaimed, "This is fab!" and she wore it out to dinner that evening. We also gave my cousin, the bride-to-be, the diamond necklace that was designed at J. Brown's using a family diamond. When she opened it, she proclaimed, "This is exactly what I wanted!" She immediately put it on, wore it to her first gown fitting, and never took it off. Thank you so much for your service and style advice!

I wound up at J. Brown by default. I typically go to another jeweler but they no longer service Rolex watches. My husband has a very old Rolex that no longer kept time correctly and in general was pretty beat up. I wasn't even sure if I could get it repaired and back in good condition. I took it in to J. Brown and was delighted with the service I received. They explained the process and a week later I received and estimate in the mail detailing what needed to be done. The cost was much less than what I thought and they completed the repair work quickly. We had had it repaired once before and it still didn't work properly. We now have a perfectly working, beautifully reconditioned vintage Rolex. I will now be going to J. Brown for all my jewelry!

I will NEVER go back to this place. I took my brand new (as of the night before) engagement ring to be resized. The woman who was "helping" me asked where the ring was from. I told her I didn't know since my fiance purchased it. She brought over an expert jeweler and told me point blank "We don't deal with fake rings. You will have to take your business elsewhere." I asked her what she meant and she said "these are not diamonds. We have only work with REAL diamonds" I explained to her that I knew the stones weren't diamonds (they are moissanite) but all I needed was it to be resized. She turned her back and walked away. I walked out and sat in the parking lot crying. What a hateful, evil woman. Silly me for thinking that a business actually wants to curry good favor with possible clients. I will be taking my business and "fake ring" elsewhere, please do the same

I originally wasn't going to take the time to post this, but now, 3 months after getting engaged, the baguettes on either side of my round diamond are BOTH loose and I'm worried they are going to fall out any day. One is also chipped because it was forced into a setting that was slightly too small. We're going to have to buy a completely new setting (somewhere else!) and just trash this one since the two diamonds ARE indeed different sizes, even though the salesman rudely dismissed my concern that they looked to be different sizes as "No, they wouldn't put different sized diamonds in it."
So here's the other UPDATE on my previous review:
After our terrible experience in July, we didn't hear a word from the owner until 8/15/11 when he called my fiance and started off with what he felt were thinly veiled threats, saying "some might construe the reviews your fiance is posting online as slander and a judge might agree" and when my fiance asked if they were going to sue us, he said something like No, he was just letting us know out of courtesy.. After making these statements that we felt threatened by, the owner then said, "you sound like a reasonable guy, I wish I could make this better, tell your fiance to come back in and talk to me personally, and I can give you a good deal on wedding bands." I have no reason to think that giving this place a second chance would result in better treatment than I received the first time. Especially after I read the other reviews that are posted on google places, I won't be giving anyone from that establishment the time of day and if they have any more legal threats for us, they can contact our lawyer. Please note that I am following up on this matter with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division and urge anyone who has had a similar experience to do the same. In my opinion, it is absurd that these people think they can treat others like this! I totally agree with the other posts that describe this as, in my own words, an unwelcoming environment where, from my experience, staff act arrogantly.

Store is beautiful - wide open layout as you make your way through the main entrance. Immediately, you are greeted warmly by several staff members.

I was simply coming here to get my wife's necklace repaired, so I was guided to the front desk where the receptionist took my information and invited me to take a seat on one of the many couches and chairs provided. I only waited for about a minute until I was called to the counter for assistance. The necklace was inspected, photographed, and I was told that I could pick it up later that same day. Service was professional and polite.

I received the same level of service when I picked up the necklace a few days later - the repair was completed to my satisfaction, and the necklace was polished. I was quite impressed.

I never write postings but thought this was worth it - I got engaged last month after 4 years of dating and am thrilled with the service I received from the folks at J. Brown Jewelers. I live in the area and had visited almost every store around - what I found from most were salespeople just looking to get commission and the "sale."

J. Brown Jewelers was different - I was greeted immediately when I arrived and the salesperson spent over 2 1/2 hours with me while I went back and forth and asked a ton of (what he probably thought) were annoying questions. During my verbosity - at no time did the salesperson become frustrated or seem like I was taking up too much of his time. In addition I felt no pressure to buy during my time there.

To make a long story short - I left without the ring and went shopping some more -- thinking I could get a better price somewhere else. I was wrong - not only did I find higher prices for lower grade rings, but my experiences with other salespeople left me depressed. I went back to J. Brown Jewelers a few days later and the same salesperson greeted me with a smile and I smiled and said "I'll take the ring." The salesperson wrote it up, gift wrapped it - and probably spent another two hours making sure everything was satisfactory.

When I left the salesperson gave me his business card and said to call him if I have any questions. I looked at the business card and it said he was the owner of the store. That said - I am thrilled with the service and couldn't be more pleased with my decision.

I have been to the finest Jewelry stores around the Country and have to say the watch selection at J. Brown Jewelers is far superior to any I have seen. I wanted to change an old diamond necklace into a newer everyday classic piece. With a quick description they were able to design exactly what I wanted for an affordable price. J Brown has an amazing selection of diamonds and gems! We went in to look for my engagement ring and was given great service. We were even invited back to a special after hours party and sale. The sale was catered and we had a blast. They want their customers to feel comfortable in the store. I have heard they even loan out pieces to their better customers.

This business has some very odd and unusual cuts of diamonds. I was looking for something out of the ordinary for a very special present, and happened upon this shop. I was immediately mezmerised by their brilliance and uniqueness. I found a cut that I'd never seen in any other ordianary jewelry store. In addition, all work is done on the premises. I much prefer that to sending the item out. The staff was very knowledgable and helpful in making my decision. They asked pertinent questions to assist me in narrowing down my choices.

Buyer Beware!!
You would think that when you??re dropping thousands on an engagement ring, you??d get pretty excellent customer service. Not at J. Brown!! My fianc bought my ring there and the shiesty salesman failed to point out that there was a very visible natural inclusion (think large black dot that I could see with the naked eye holding my hand two feet from my face). Now, my fianc did feel bad that he didn??t notice it when he bought it, but like I told him, any salesman who wants a happy customer and isn??t just trying to make a buck would have made sure he was explicitly aware of the very visible black dot in the middle of the engagement ring! My fianc might have never noticed, but wearing it everyday, I noticed it pretty quickly (we got engaged Sunday night and I noticed it Monday morning) and I am not the type of person to settle for mediocre anything. So we brought it in first chance we could, which was 6 days later on a Saturday. The salesman cleaned it for us (at this point we were hoping the spot was just some piece of dirt), brought it back with the spot still there and said, ??So I guess you want another diamond?? Not only did we have to get a new diamond, but this guy saw an opportunity to squeeze more money out of us so he brought out a nicer diamond and wanted $500 more for it! I didn??t think we should have to pay anything more given the inconvenience we were being put through, the fact that the new diamond was not that one that my fianc got down on one knee with, I??d had to look at this ring all week and all I could see was the black dot, which is not what you want at all the first week you??re engaged. Not ONCE did this guy utter the words, ??I??m sorry for your inconvenience,? and he even seemed annoyed with us. When I tried to explain why yes, I did want another diamond, he cut me off and just said, ??I understand,? as he walked away to get some other diamonds. I would have expected him to offer to meet us half way for our troubles, but no, this guy was all about the bottom line, not about customer service. Buyer beware!!

Buyer Beware!!
You would think that when you??re dropping thousands on an engagement ring, you??d get pretty excellent customer service. Not at J. Brown!! My fianc bought my ring there and the shiesty salesman failed to point out that there was a very visible natural inclusion (think large black dot that I could see with the naked eye holding my hand two feet from my face). Now, my fianc did feel bad that he didn??t notice it when he bought it, but like I told him, any salesman who wants a happy customer and isn??t just trying to make a buck would have made sure he was explicitly aware of the very visible black dot in the middle of the engagement ring! My fianc might have never noticed, but wearing it everyday, I noticed it pretty quickly (we got engaged Sunday night and I noticed it Monday morning) and I am not the type of person to settle for mediocre anything. So we brought it in first chance we could, which was 6 days later on a Saturday.
