The Brick Ridge consistently has good food in a charming atmosphere. Service is always strong, and my husband and I have been there at least 10 times over the years. I wish it were a little less expensive, but this is an upscale restaurant so the prices make sense.

I have lived in mt airy for many yrs and i have never been to a place more charming then Brick Ridge. The food is always good and the service is wonderful. They always accomadate our needs and i have never had a bad meal there. There is always something new to try and the drinks are exceptional. It will always be my first choice. Try the Pecan Encrusted Salmon it is delightful.

Nice change from the chains. A relaxing atmosphere away from the busy shopping centers of Frederick.

The menu is always unique and well prepared and delivered.

The staff is friendly and hospitable.

Upscale with a family and friends attitude. Don't expect robot like sales speech prepared servers.

Always enjoy the food and service

I think the Brick Ridge is the best restaurant in Carroll County! It's unique and charming with an interesting history.
We love trying the different state menu specials each week...you get a chance to sample unusual items like alligator or bison.
My favorite standard items are the Filet with horseradish, and the cream of crab soup. Everything from the salad dressings, to the cornbread to the desserts are homemade and delicious!
The owner is always there and very friendly, and the service is very professional.
I think the Brick Ridge is really one of a kind....what a nice change from those horrible "chain" restaurants!

A completely underwhelming brunch. My steak and eggs was disappointing. It was described as two eggs (I ordered mine over-easy) served with two beef filet medallions and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were overdone, one was fried completely solid, the beef "medallions" were pieces hacked off from another cut of beef with no resemblence of a filet medallion-however the beef was tasty. The breakfast potatoes were simply last nights bakers cubed and deep fried hard and dry. They were terrible. My husband ordered the Westminster Waffles topped with gingered peaches and apple maple sausage links. His at least was as described, but absolutely nothing special. We also ordered the New Orleans Beignets that were heavy and completely saturated with oil. I will never go there for brunch again. Oh, I should mention the Bloody Mary was absolutely fantastic, as was the coffee. $56 including tip because I didn't want to drive into Frederick to go to Perkins.

Sounds to me like this Tim P. has unreasonable expectations.
I always enjoy the food and serice at the Brick Ridge.

You can't find comparable quality, and service for the more than reasonable price between Baltimore and Frederick.

I would take his opinion with a grain of salt, even if you have to reach across the table to get to it.

The decor of this restaurant is quaint, but that was the best part on this night. Everyone has a bad night - but all the same night? The reviews were great. Too bad the food was only edible, and the service poor. Our server had to be asked for our basket of bread, fresh pepper for our salads (which even after he brought it for me, he didn't offer it to my companion diners), and repeatly asked for refills on iced tea, etc. He reached across my guests when serving and clearing, too. That's far from upscale! The Cream of Crab Soup was tasty. The salad crisp and fresh, but my Chicken entree with ham and crab was very dry and poorly seasoned. My wife's Salmon entree was strong tasting, which means it wasn't exactly same day fresh. My guests enjoyed the crab cakes flavor, but commented it was not big lumps of crab meat, but more shredded with filler. And I never met a bread pudding I didn't like - until this one! I've had better bread pudding at Cactus Willys! I think I'll wait a few months before trying a second time. But if it remotely like this time, there will never be a third time!

My husband and I have gone to the Brick Ridge at least three times.
It has always been very enjoyable. 1) The food is cooked with skill. There has never been something that is not tasty and appealing. The presentation is very pleasant. 2) They have a really good idea, of featuring food from a different state, rotating weekly. If you go there from time-to-time, you know that there will be the fun of possibly discovering a food that you've never tried, such as buffalo, or venison. 3) The staff has always been helpful and friendly. Sometimes the owner has stopped at our table, and he's an interesting guy who is very pleasant. 4) The decor is airy and pretty, very clean, and appealing. The outside is lovely. ~~ My husband, as a business-owner, considers this a nice place to take clients. ~~ In the Mt. Airy area, it's a top restaurant. It's worth traveling to from the Ellicott City, Frederick, Westminster or Damascus area. Make sure you call ahead! We've been turned away! People have discovered this cute little gem.
