... yeah. I'm smelling anti-choice propaganda on that review by "Monchelle." I had an abortion at a different Hillcrest facility years ago, and the doc was so kind and careful and considerate with me that I was actually just Googling to see whether he was still practicing or what. For the sake of women in his city, I hope so. Anyway, everything in this review sounds just too perfectly and unrelentingly and conveniently grim grim grim, but the biggest red flag is "I couldn't fit my friend in the procedure room with me!"---have you ever heard of any surgery anywhere that let random friends in? For liability insurance purposes ALONE it wouldn't happen in a million years. And what's this crap about "any given day of the week?" How many appointments did it take you to get an abortion, "Monchelle?" Well, there's no reason you should believe that my good abortion experience at Hillcrest is any more real than "Monchelle's" bad one, but at least be aware that the anti-choicers have every reason in the world to plant bad propaganda. So even more than usual, the advice "don't believe everything you read on the internet" applies here. Call Hillcrest, talk to them, and if it doesn't feel like a match to you, go someplace else. In fact that's how I came to Hillcrest: started off going someplace else; felt like the way they did anaesthesia wasn't a match for me; went to Hillcrest instead. I have never spent 5 minutes being sorry I did. (And by the way, nobody made me "pay extra to be anesthesized" either. Load of hooey, that.)

This is where I went to get my abortion at 17 weeks. It is basically a waste of time to schedule anything because either way you are going to be waiting for hours in a crowded room with 20+ other girls on any given day of the week. The website is great and very informative, but the service and atmosphere is horrible. They seem to only care about money, and even make you pay extra to be anesthesized. The procedure rooms are about as small as a closet, and can't even fit a friend or family member that wishes to accompany you. Pretty soon after the procedure, they give you a cup of ginger ale and crackers, kick you out, and send you on your way in a very unfriendly and impersonal manner. No other services, information, or other help is provided. Some of the staff is very nice and friendly, but others seem contemptuous, condescending, and plain mean. I hated the vibe I got from this place and promised myself I'd never return.
