Jungle Grille is a very convenient restaurant for students at the University of Maryland. It offers a very varied selection of food, including savory burgers and a make-your-own salad option. In addition, the desserts are delicious. This restaurant is sure to please anyone and everyone, no matter what your tastes may be.

I have eaten there a few times and have always been pleased with the food. Very friendly staff. Not just a college hangout. Sandwiches are really very good. And the sweet potatoe fries are excellant!

This excellent restaraunt in downtown College Park is an old standard. My husband and I live nearby, in University Park, and this is on our top-5 lists for quick and tasty -- not to mention healthier -- takeout.

The Jungle Grille is a boutique restaurant, seating about 50 people. TV's -- including a large-screen -- play college sports or news most days. The atmoshphere is unique; walls are brightly painted with rain forest animals and plants, which is far preferable to the dull decor at most comparable College Park eateries. The theme seems to focus on healthy and environmentally sound. For instance, Jungle Grille recycles, and offers vegitarian meals.

The large menu includes excellent salads, healthy sandwiches, soups, entrees, and vegitarian meal choices. Try the Ahi Tuna salad, or one of their personal pizzas. My personal favorite is their dolphin-safe tuna salad on French bread. Some sandwiches are served hot or cold, such as my husband's favorite -- the Roast Beef and Cheddar. Many interesting beverages are offered, such as juices, Snapple, and smoothies in addition to the standards.

For a complete menu, check out campusfood.com. (You can place take-out orders online there, or call in.)

I've never tried their burgers, but I can verify their sandwiches and salads are fresh, made-to-order, and tasty. The Staff is invariably friendly, chatty, and they seem to have a lot of fun. We've been eating there for years, and have never once had a problem or a flubbed order.

The only detractor: Location. It's back from Route One, in a small strip mall. It might be hard to find from the main road, but once you know where it is, you won't forget it. (Also, technically, they misspelled their name -- it should be "Grill" for restaurant.)

The author is a professional writer and editor. This is not shill.
