I was scheduled to be moved by All My Sons Moving and Storage Company on Friday, July 6, 2007. By 5:00 p.m. the crew had not yet arrived; as it was over 90 degrees outside and I had a good number of boxes and furniture to be moved, I called their dispatcher and asked if we could do it 1st thing Saturday. They agreed and with a fresh crew the next day we moved my 1 bedroom apartment in 6 hours, finishing by 4:25 pm. While just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong during this move, including the crew not having the right keys to unlock the deadbolts from the truck doors and the crew chief??s cell phone dying so he could not phone in the stop time, I really have 2 major complaints:

1. When my move was scheduled, it should not have been the 2nd job of the day for a crew already scheduled to move a four-room household of at least 4 residents from the 19th floor of a hi-rise in Virginia. Then go to NW Washington to move my one-bedroom. The crew told me this information, and as I already mentioned - my move took 6 hrs., add this on top of what had been a 9 hr. job (including transportation), and that is just ludicrous (if not criminal) job and employee management. Had we stayed on the original schedule we would have been unloading the truck at midnight on Friday!
2. The appearance of this crew, and their physical ability to perform this type of work, were both highly suspect for a company promoting themselves as ??professional movers?. Two in the crew of 3 were at least in their late 40??s, if not in their 50??s, and looked to be hung over. One of these 2 was overweight, on top of everything else, and spent the most amount of time ??on break?. I am only 5?? 9? tall and weigh about 160 pounds and was easily the tallest and most fit person involved with my move. By early afternoon I realized I was not going to be moved in under 8 hours unless I busted my own hump - especially when I was being charged $119.00 an hour!

There is much more I could write, including how I had to wrap my own furniture in moving pads and tell the others how to do their job (should I have to do this and break my own back at $119.00 an hour?), and how the office mgr. added another 20 minutes onto the stop time - an easy $40, no? But the 2 complaints above should be enough for the general safety and knowledge of the public.

The supervisor (Damien) called at 8:30 AM on the day of the move to cancel stating 2 trucks were down and one was in an accident. He was so cut and dry, non-apoligetic , monitone and uncaring we thought the "JoJo and Kenny" Radio Show was calling to play a joke on us. Not so ... this was for real.

My feeling is ... this was a cock and bull story ... I feel they dropped us for a bigger job. All for the best ... we got "Dollar Movers" at the last minute (they said they pick up a lot of All My Sons work this way) and they did a great job handling my furniture. Had "All My Sons" moved us it probably would've been a terrible experience!!!!!

Forget about this company!!!!! Terrible!!!!!!
