Galaxy Hair Designers

I made an appointment with Sugar after reading all the positive recommendations online and I couldn't be happier with the results. I told him that I was sick of my boring do nothing hair and he made a bunch of recommendations for my hair type and cut a style for me that I absolutely love! I feel great about myself with my new haircut!

When my sister told me about her experience at Galaxy, she was ecstatic! She highly recommended the salon to me and was very exaggerative about Sugar, the man who transformed my sister into a much livelier woman. She told me "If you want a different look, you absolutely have to go to Galaxy and see Sugar!" I took her advice and when I went, he gave me a suggestion that I took, and I'm glad I did. It was the best color and cut I have ever gotten. Now, I see myself as a completely different, much younger looking person. He's a true artist!

After years of asking for a particular style at high end salons in Bethesda and Rockille and instead getting boring haircuts, I discovered Galaxy Hair Designers. Here I found a rare combination of skill, warmth, and a desire to truly please the client. In the last 3 months Sugar gave me 2 unique haircuts and highlights, and the low maintenance style I wanted! He also managed to please my teenage daughter with a beautiful haircut.
I highly recommend him!

I was shopping in montgomery mall, I saw a girl that had the haircut I've always wanted. I asked her where she had gotten her hair done and she said "In Galaxy Hair Designers in Rockville, Sugar cut it!" I asked her for the phone number and made an appointment. When I got there, he asked me who had recommended me to him, I told him i saw a girl at the mall and asked her for your number. I told him what I wanted, he suggested a few highlights and then a great cut. I know what good hair looks like, I was a hairdresser myself, but I had to quit about a year ago after having my baby. I could tell he definitely knew what he was doing. In one word he is AMAZING!

My best friend recommended Sugar to me about a year ago. I was being lazy about it because I live in Baltimore. My friend kept telling me my hair looked horrible, and that I really needed to go to Galaxy. I finally decided to go see Sugar. As soon as he saw me, he said "I only have one question, how long do you want the length?" He then said, "I'll give you a younger, sexier, look and it'll be low maintenance." I then sat down, and he gave me gorgeous color and a very sassy haircut. While he was cutting, he was so quick that everything all together only took about a little more than an hour. I wish I had listened to my friend a long time ago, I honestly look at least 10 years younger than my actual age. I don't care how far away I live, I would still only go to Galaxy, because it really is worth it!

I was reviewing Galaxy Hair Designers online, I read great comments about Sugar...except one. When I read that comment I got mixed feelings about going there, but when I read all of the other good comments I decided to give it a try. When I got there, everyone was so nice and welcoming. I have very thick, diffucult hair, I've been to many top hair salons and none of them gave me the results I wanted, my hair was still always bushy and there was no style at all. I talked to Sugar about my hair and he said "I know exactly what you need!" and he started cutting my hair. After he was done, I couldn't believe my eyes. I had finally found the haircut that I've been looking for, for years. When I got home, my whole family said "WOW" they were amazed at how good i looked. I haven't washed my hair in almost a week and it still looks perfect. When my friends complimented my hair, I felt really good about myself. I almost didn't go to Galaxy, but thank god i ignored that one negative review and went, after all some people can never be satisfied no matter how good you are. I highly recommend Sugar to everyone! Sugar, thanks alot, I'll definitely be seeing you again.

I wouldn't go as far as NOT recommending this place, but there is always a critic and I unfortunately am the one. I am used to having a high style/trendy type haircut and went to Hair Galaxy after reading the reviews thinking they'd be good. The people were extremely nice and very hospitable. But when I went to Sugar and told him exactly what I wanted it didn't seem like he really listened to me. He kept telling me how good I was gonna look but I had to tell him to go even shorter when he was almost done. After he was finished my hair looked okay but there was no style or shape to it. It was all very plain and when I tried to style it again myself later on, there was just nothing to it. I went back the next day and told him NOT to go shorter but to give me more layers and dimension. He ended up cutting it even shorter and even though there were more layers, I still am not happy with my hair. So, unfortunately, will not be going back there ever again. Also, the place is kind of pricey, I paid 75 dollars for a cut and blow dry. I've never paid that much even at high end salons. :(

A few weeks ago my best friend went to Galaxy and when I saw her hair I was AMAZED! She told me Sugar did her hair and she highly recommended him! I made an appointment right away and when I went into the shop everyone was very kind. He talked to me for a few minutes and said "just leave everything to me!" At first I was really nervous because he said he would completely change me! It took him less than 2 hours to transform me! I definitely got the best color and cut i ever had! Thanks to him, I now get so many of the compliments that I've never gotten before! I LOVE YOU SUGAR!

I moved to the DC area four years ago and the hardest thing for me to find was a hairstylist that could compare to the one I had for 8 years. I visited SEVERAL salons before discovering Galaxy Hair Designers while on a walk with my husband. Sugar was cutting a woman's hair as we passed by the window and I could tell he knew what he was doing! I have loved my cuts and highlighting from the beginning. After we moved out of the Rockville area I tried someone new - a referral from a very "picky" friend - who she claimed was "the best". Although the stylist was much closer in distance, my haircut reflected what he wanted versus what I wanted and his prices were higher as well. Needless to say, I only went to that fancy salon once and decided the drive to Rockville was worth it. I am so happy I found Galaxy Hair Designers and know they deserve the loyalty they have from so many of their customers.

Sugar and Galaxy Hair Designers deserve 5+ Stars! I have very fine, thin, straight hair and a round face with an extremely high forehead (bad combination) and have never had a haircut that addressed both issues. I went to Galaxy yesterday and received the best haircut of my life (and I am not young). My family raved about it and when I went to work today I received so many compliments that I stopped counting. Yesterday, while waiting for my turn, I watched Sugar cut two other customers' hair and both haircuts were beautiful - each lady had a different type of hair - he is an artist and incredibly talented. The people who work at the salon are also very kind and helpfu. I would like to recommend Sugar and Galaxy to anyone looking for the perfect haircut .

I moved from France a few years ago and i had a hard time finding someone, i am very picky when it comes to my hair. Finally i discovered Sugar at Hair Galaxy which my friend highly recommended to me. I was very happy with the outcome of my hair, he did it exactly as i wanted it and i feel very confident about my hair. My color is gorgeous and my cut is absolutely outstanding and it is very easy to mantain. I highly recommend Sugar to everyone! TRES BIEN!:)

ohh my gosh. well 1st of all im 17 and i love this place. i go to Faruk. HES AMAZING. i neveer even hav to tell him what i want he can just tell what will look good on a person. he did my highlights and they wer literally perfect. my friends flipped outt. now they go there too. Faruk's brother (the owner) Sugar is fantastic too. u really do get what u pay 4. they also hav free coffee and snacks. i got highlights, a cut and blowdry...came out looking like a model for only 190 bux. IM GOING BACK 4 PROM THIS YEAR...U SHUDD TOO

I have been going to Hiko at Galaxy hair for many years along with my mother. He is absolutely fabulous. My highlights are amazing as well as my cuts. Hiko takes his time and is a perfectionist. His prices are reasonable, parking is easy, and getting an appointment is not difficult! I recommend Hiko to everyone, especially if you want to look like and feel like a million bucks!!

Heko has been cutting and coloring my hair for a few months now and I have never been happier. What sets him apart though is his ability to blow dry hair. I have never had so many compliments. I call it "Red Carpet" hair because I feel and look like a movie star ready for the red carpet. Everyone at Galaxy Hair is very professional. What a great find.

THE BEST COLOR AND STYLIST - TURKISH BROTHERS ARE THE BEST - FARUK AND SUGAR IS THEIR NAME AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEN THIS PLACE TO EVERYONE.... IF YOU ARE STINGY WITH YOUR MONEY - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! THEY ARE FAR MORE REASONABLE THAN PLACES IN DC AND VA - I HAVE BEEN GOING FOR 5 YEARS AND REFUSE TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

I've been going to Galaxy for almost 3 years now and love absolutely everything about the shop. The owner, Sugar, always cuts and colors my hair exactly like I ask. Sometimes I ask him to try something new and he always knows just what to do to make my hair look awesome. Everyone I see walk out of the shop looks like a million bucks.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff from the minute you walk in the door and are greeted by the receptionist to the time you leave.

I think about 75% of all my friends go to Galaxy now. :)

PROS: Great cuts, color, highlights at a great price with friendly atmosphere
CONS: It's not closer to my house :)

I've gotten my hair cut here and it was done very well. However, my true raves about this place are for the owner who did my hair in an updo when I was in someone's wedding. He gave me a few ideas and then took it from there and it was the best updo I've ever had. Nothing has compared to it. He is extremely talented and friendly as are all of the staff. Great prices, too!
