Wonderful Eats

by Heather B.

I love, love, love this place. The food is awesome well worth checking out. There is no liquor license, just an FYI. The atmosphere is wonderful. The establishment is a bit on the small side, so I'd suggest making a reservation or just going early.

I am what some would call a FOODIE, meaning that I love to eat and my days and nights revolve around what meal I am going to have next. So, when I go to eat at a restaurant and I am let down, its really a heartbreak because I have wasted a meal that could have been more than it was. One place I can always count on to produce a success is The Desert Cafe. I have been frequenting this restaurant for quite some time but only recently discovered this website and decided to post my review. And trust me, being that I eat out almost every night, my review is worth your time.
If I were to pick just one dish to recommend, I would be doing a disservice to the restaurant and to you and your friends. There are far too many to choose from. I can, on the other hand, recommend the MUST HAVES! I usually go on the weekends and almost always select from the special menu. From that, I can suggest the hummous sampler (three flavored hummous', usually flavors I have yet to see anywhere else), the seafood specials (there is almost always a filo wrapped salmon that is outstanding and frequently a second fish, most often tuna), and turkey or vegetarian chili. From the regular menu, I can honestly say that I have always been happy with the following selections- greek salad (with tuna salad or grilled chicken on top), chicken kebab, and the mango curry chicken salad.
Lastly, and I always make sure to leave room for, is the dessert. You can't go wrong here so I won't even bother to list my favorites (because I will end up listing the entire spread). Truthfully, everyone I have brought has been amazed by the variety and the uniqueness of some of the desserts, so go ahead, try any of them. I promise you'll be happy.
