Poor Choice for Surgical Care

by j b.

I used to take my animals here because it is close to my house and Dr Jaffe left a good impression with me and my wife. I took my 9-month old German Shepherd to be spayed one morning, and she was killed during the operation. When I arrived I discovered that a vet I had never even met was responsible for the procedure.

I have since decided that driving a little out of the way and paying a little more is well worth the peace of mind that I get now that I've found a vet with nationally-recognized credentials and human-grade surgical facilities.

Montgomery Animal Hospital is the best thanks to DR.JAFFE

by B H.

Dr. Jaffe is one of the best. I would say that i am 90% happy with the services and outcome of my visits. The front desk could use a lesson in being a bit more respectful towards patients. If they had a freindlier staff, this place would be a dream come true

BAAAAD experience Warning! dont take your pets here if you really care!!

by Anonymous

All they care is how much your going to pay. they dont care about your pet at all. Most of the stuff is really rude and selfish. They wont answear any questions I had clearly and they would give me an attitude. Whenever Ill come to pick up my pet he will be really scared and agressive and he was never agressive ever!!. they did some things I didnt really ask for and end up charging me for it anyways. They really should be demanded. They are commiting animal abuse. Ive heard from another person, that thanks to them she lost her best friend. Very negligent people. PLease dont take your pets there Im really warning you.

Dr. Jaffe is second to none in caring for animals (and their people!)

by Mark M.

I have never met an individual that has as much care, concern and gentleness with animals and their owners as Dr. Jaffe at the Montgomery Animal Hospital. Our cat has faced a number of different medical challenges in his time with us, and Dr. Jaffe and his staff have truly gone out their way to solve the issues while providing a one-of-a kind level of care.Dr. Jaffe's warm personally clearly puts both pets and owners at ease, no matter how simple or difficult the situation. He has done extensive research beyond a normal office visit to help solve our cat's issues and make him much happier in our home. He has even called on several occasions to check in on the cat's people...who have had injuries of their own.Dr. Jaffe's staff is just as warm and welcoming, always greeting the cat with a huge smile when we bring him by. We feel a special conncetion to Montgomery Animal Hospital, and make sure we pass along all our old towels and blankets to them each winter. We think it is the least we can do for someone that has done so much for our pet.We now live 45 minutes for Dr. Jaffe's office...but still make the drive for the cat's regular appointments. We will not ever take him to someone else....Dr. Jaffe is and will be the only one to care for the four-legged members of our family.

Dr. Jaffe and the staff are the BEST!

by Michelle L.

The team at Montgomery Animal Hospital is the best! We recommend them to everyone without hesitation. We actually drive an hour to take our cat to Dr. Jaffe because he provides him with a comprehensive visit and asks us all the right questions about his behavior. We adore our cat and we know that if he was ever seriously ill, Dr. Jaffe would care for him as if he was his own pet. He really understands that this cat is like a child to us. When we first moved to Rockville, we had to board the cat with Montgomery Animal Hospital when we had a death in the family and our cat sitter was not available - the team at Montgomery Animal Hospital took great care of him. Their association with the Nebel Street Emergency Animal Hospital is very helpful also. Susan knows her stuff when it comes to nutrition and food options, the vet techs are great and the front desk staff always welcome us warmly and get us on our way smoothly when we are done. Dr. Jaffe and his staff will take great care of you and your pet so we recommend them highly - they are delightful!

I recommend looking elsewhere!

by Mr. F.

I have been taking my dog to Montgomery Animal Hospital for nearly two years now. The two veterinarians, Parish and Jaffe, are friendly enough and reasonably pleasant, but in most other categories I would rate them no better than average. In general, the fees charged seem excessive compared to other providers in the area and the interaction with the vet is brief they seem to spend more time preparing the bill then examining your pet. My biggest apprehension arose from a very simple and telling situation which made me believe that their primary motivation is making money with the customer a very distant second. Why is this so very - very important? Simply put, someones advice should be based upon whats best for my pet, not whats going to put the most dollars in their pocket. When it comes to a big decision are they going to advise a lot of painful procedures simply because its more profitable? Not a risk worth taking!

To explain in detail, I recently ran out of INTERCEPTOR, the preventative heartworm medication. Since their office is located on Rockville Pike at an incredibly busy intersection, I chose to simply order a replacement supply via the internet at 1-800-Petmeds. For a reason that eludes me, one apparently needs a vets prescription to order interceptor, but 1-800-Petmeds handles contacting the vet so no problem so I thought. HOWEVER, 1-800-Petmeds shortly thereafter informed me that Parish and Jaffe would not issue a prescription over the phone unlike any regular doctors office. Calling in an attempt to easily resolve the problem, turned out to be very insightful into this establishments primary motivation. Though neither vet bothered to talk to me - or even call me after the fact a very unpleasant staff person was very clear, or should I say unclear. Inquiring as to the reason for not issuing a prescription over the phone, I was told this was now office policy - though it had been previously allowed by a different vet. If I wanted a prescription, I would need to stop in and the vet would write me a prescription and then I could mail it to 1-800-Petmeds though she clearly stated their preference would be to sell me a package. Inquiring as to their rational, the first reason offered was they simply didnt have the office staff to deal with such inquiries another fulltime person would be needed. So after quickly shooting back that her explanation was nonsense, that in fact, it would be much more time consuming for their staff and the vet to cater to each customer who arrives unannounced for a prescription, she offered up yet another rational. Without saying specifically, she implied that their interceptor was better than that of any other vendor but after some laughter from me she clarified that should my dog develop heartworm while on their medication, they would pay for the follow-up treatment, whereas the internet vendor would not. This reasoning is absolutely absurd; this should be a reason for me to want to buy their product, but not a reason for them to exclude me from buying anothers product.

In summary, they had no real reason to deny my request other than they simply preferred me to purchase the product from them. The fact they didnt mind inconveniencing me, the customer, so as to maintain their profit margin - caused me to reevaluate our relationship and pull my dogs file and look for an alternate provider. Considering I had paid over $1500 in less than two years (4-5 office visits), I was somewhat surprised they were so inflexible over what amounted to maybe a $30-40 extra profit per year. However, if you consider their position, it does make sense. If they do it for one person, theyll need to do it for everyone. Considering how much the internet companies advertise, they could easily stand to lose 20-30% of their customers to alternate suppliers this would easily be in the tens of thousands of dollars per year. This is a clear example of the decision making they use to operate their business. Do you really want to trust your pets well-being to them?

Yet another action to confirm my hypothesis, they charged me $6.50 to have a copy of my dogs file 10 copied pages mind you. In looking for a new provider, I discovered that checkbook.org lists them well below average in customer satisfaction ratings and higher than average in price index - so mine isn't a minority opinion. I made a mistake choosing this provider, but have been fortunate enough to recognize it and change. Choose carefully.

When reading all the corny favorable reviews below - check out the submission dates - 25, almost all, were submitted in a 3-day span. Maybe we now know what their office staff spends their time doing. People tend to take the time to write negatives - more so than writing something favorable - clearly those are bogus. Any professional would be embarrassed over such a blatant misrepresentation. Maybe he writes them himself?

Warning!

by Lara P.

I am about to provide very factual information and allow everyone to draw their own conclusions. I relied on this site and these reviews in choosing a boarding facility for my cat, as I am new to the area. My sister, who has lived around the corner from this vet for many years, said she was surprised to hear I read such glowing reviews because she had heard very mixed reviews. But when I called, the facility was willing to take my cat even though I was new to the area. Because my cat has severe urinary issues, he requires prescription only cat food -- $. The boarding price seemed reasonable and everyone I met seemed quite nice.

At the front desk was a sign reminding customers that it is dental care awareness month. Pointing to the sign, I asked the african american woman if perhaps I should have my cat's teeth looked at while he was boarding because if his teeth needed to be cleaned, he'd have to be in for awhile and sedated etc. so might as well do while boarding. She said -- sure, she would be happy to have the vet take a look at his teeth while he was in there.

When I went to pick up my cat this evening, there was a woman to my left speaking with the white woman at the counter, so I went to the african american woman on the right. I overheard the customer on my left mentioning to the desk clerk that she was concerned that her bill was over $400 and she had never paid that in Colorado. I had no idea what she had done, but thought, oh yes, everything is expensive around here.

It took the desk clerk quite awhile to figure out my bill. I am still not sure why. Then she said $147. I knew that didn't sound right, so I asked -- for 5 nights? She said, yes and $52 for the physical exam. I said, physical exam? Why did they do a physical exam? She looked and said, hmm, I guess because you asked about his teeth. She seemed perplexed as well and then the woman behind the desk on the left jumped in and also said in a puzzled tone, did we give any shots? At this point, everyone was very professional, and I didn't say much because I assumed there was an error.

Then the white woman behind the desk returned with quite an attitude. I was shocked because everyone had been so nice to this point. She came back and said she had spoken with the "owner" Dr. Jaffe and he was not inclined to reverse the charges because (eyebrows raised and in full defensive posture) you did ask for the exam. I, of course, questioned the charge further but she was so unprofessional and defensive at that point, I saw no sense in arguing anymore.

So Dr. Jaffe, over $52 and for the maybe 90 seconds (I'm obviously being quite generous with the time!) it took Dr. Parrish to open my cat's mouth to look at his teeth, lost a potential lifetime customer who has to buy special food for her cat. That makes him a terrible businessman, but no, I'm not saying it makes him a bad doctor.

But what it does make me question is whether I can trust this man and his office to care for my cat. Perhaps at a minimum, it alerts any customers of this clinic to be very careful with your interaction with the front desk and to ask a lot of questions because they are certainly going to lure you into a false understanding either purposefully or accidentally, I do not profess to know.

I take some blame in this situation, of course. I have never boarded at a vet (we had a great place in Dallas called the Cat Connection that only boarded cats -- we need some of these here in DC!), so I misunderstood the -- we can have the vet take a look at his teeth while he's in here. My fault for not inquiring further.

But I would like to believe that the vet I ultimately choose would have said -- but you know that is an office visit and it'll be $52 just to look at his teeth -- you might want to do that on a regular visit.

So now I will not return there because the office staff is not trained to care about wasteful costs and the owner doesn't have the sense to rectify this miscommunication.

Great Care for My Boxer

by Candace G.

I am new to this area and had to bring my dog in for a fistula that seemed to appear overnight. They got me in just hours after I called and performed the procedure my dog needed the same day. The whole staff was friendly and helpful and the doctor was caring and wonderful. I am so glad I found them. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

Montgomery Animal Hospital - Kind and Generous Care`

by victoria b.

My family has relied upon Montgomery Animal Hospital to care for our pets for over 35 years. Montgomery Animal Hospital is the veterinary clinic that my parents chose to care for our beloved childhood family pets and I have continued, well into my adulthood, to take my pets there for their medical care. I have done so because Dr. Jaffe, his colleagues and his staff have provided courteous, responsive, professional and loving care - not just to my loved ones but also to me. I have pets that require ongoing care (a diabetic cat, an elderly thyroid-challenged cat and a sweet lively pup), so I have the need to frequent the clinic often. I have ALWAYS received the level of attentive care that I referred to above.I am writing this review, not for those of you who already know Dr. Jaffe et al (because I am confident that you already know and have experienced the superior level of care that these folks dispense). But rather, I am writing this for those of you who may not have been fortunate enough to have discovered such care in your time of need. I would request that you consider my review, along with all of the other positive reviews and remember that the internet is a predominantly positive source of information that allows you to view information, decipher it, embrace the truth and disregard the garbage. I hope that you will remember this review and, in the event that you read or hear anything to the contrary about Montgomery Animal Hospital, I would urge you, based upon my first hand experience, to view (or receive) such information for what it is, discount (or simply discard) it and visit the clinic when your pet is in need. You will not regret it.

RHJ

by Ronnie R.

I truly wish my medical doctor and his staff were as wonderful, caring and attentive as my dog's doctor and his staff are! There is no question in my mind that if you want a doctor who is knowledable, loving and truly cares, you can only go to one man, Dr. Adam Jaffe at Montgomery Animal Hospital. Heck, my dog even likes going there! The only time I couldn't get an appt. was when Dr. Jaffe's staff told me he was out of the office making a "house call" to a client who was very distraught because her dog was unconcious and had to be put to sleep. She was unable to lift him off the floor so Dr. Jaffe and one of his staff went to her home and Dr. Jaffe put the dog out of his misery right there in her kitchen. Do you know any doctors either medical or veterinary who would care enough to leave a waiting room of patients to make a house call? Only one, Dr. Adam Jaffe!

I wouldn't trust anyone else with my dogs!

by Kortnee C.

Dr. Jaffe and Montgomery Animal Hospital treat my dogs as if they were their own. After visiting 2 different vets and a canine neurological specialist when my 6 month old Weimaraner became unexplainably sick and then paralyzed from the neck down, they were unable to effectively treat or diagnose her condition. After 2 of the worst weeks imaginable, I was told that it was time to "think about quality of life and what was best for my dog". I knew Dr. Jaffe and decided to call and ask his opinion. I sent him her now lengthy medical file, he asked many of the same questions and made similar suggestions to the other vets. When told that none of these approaches had been successful, he said he would keep working on it. Dr. Jaffe called me that night to say that he had been researching this for several HOURS and thought he had found something. He faxed me this short, obscure article and we switched her to the suggested medication. Within 24 hours she was RUNNING in the backyard. She has been fine ever since. I know that Dr. Jaffe is responsible for my dog being a happy, healthy 8 year old today. I've added another dog along the way and we've been seeing Dr. Jaffe and his staff ever since. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet!

THE BEST EVER...VOTED #1.....DR. JAFFE

by Jolie M.

Dr. Jaffe is the best vet ever. He is friendly, charming, caring and has a love for animals even if they are a little bit crazy. He really treats pets like people. He goes above and beyond what is expected to insure your visit is wonderful with you pet.
He has a friendly staff that greets both you and your pet with a smile each and every time you enter his office. The staff really makes you feel at home and that your pet is well cared for when you are away. My dog goes crazy when he sees Dr. Jaffe. Maize has a special bond with Dr. Jaffe. I know Maize is in good hands when we arrive and she actually looks forward to her visit.

Travel 3 1/2 hours to see the #1 Vet

by Dee S.

As were sure many of you can relate our dog is a very important part of our family. Dr. Jaffe has been our dogs veterinarian for 2 years. Now that we are located in New Jersey we were searching for a Vet. that would compare to the utmost quality care provided by Dr. Jaffe and his staff. After 9 months of obtaining various recommendations/diagnosis we did not find a Vet. who obtained our confidence and comfort in working with our pup. We now travel 3 hours whenever we need more than a general check up. Its well worth obtaining superior care for our furry family member! He's the best of the best!

What you would always hope for in a Vet for your pet!

by Cijndy A.

You will not find a better vet hospital in Montgomery County. My family has taken our dogs to Montgomery Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Our dogs have all had the best care possible! Dr Adam Jaffe and his staff are professional, intelligent, caring and compassionate people. When we had to put our 13 year old Lab down Dr Jaffe was as sad as we were and made us as comfortable as he could with our decision. He even made a donation in our dog's name. He is just as loving and kind to our two newer younger Labs! We all - including my two 10 year olds, love going to the vet!

Veterinarian takes his OWN dogs to Montgomery Animal Hospital

by Mark O.

Having known Drs. Jaffe and Parrish for several years now, and as a practicing small animal veterinarian myself, I can say categorically that they are both among the BEST veterinarians I have ever worked with. As a mobile ultrasonographer, I have the opportunity to travel to many veterinary clinics in Montgomery and Frederick Counties. During my day, I see the entire spectrum of medical quality and client service from the various clinics I visit. MAH a very high quality hospital that is clearly dedicated to providing the highest quality medical care, thorough diagnostics and a total commitment to client satisfaction. They're pet lovers and it shows. And I put my money where my mouth is: 1 of my dogs was spayed there 3 years ago and the other two just had their teeth cleaned there this week. I wouldn't take them anywhere else.

Excellent care by an excellent staff

by Rachel N.

Having owned animals my whole life, and lived in several states, my animals have probably been to about 7 different vet clinics. There is no question in my mind that MAH is the most professional and knowledgeable clinic I have been to. My animals are not a "number" there, they are true patients with names. The Dr.'s on staff always remember my pets and all their issues despite seeing hundreds of other clients. Unfortunately, my pets are now old, and require medications. I have extreme comfort knowing that they are in the care of Dr. Jaffe and his staff. I know that whatever amount of time my animals have left, it will be spent happy and comfortable. I give MAH my highest recommendation and refer everyone and anyone I know to them.

Always Go to Montgomery Animal Hospital!!!!!!!!!

by Jolie B.

I just want to tell you...that whoever this "Cheryl H" is who wrote the one star review, is so off the mark regarding Dr. Jaffe and his staff...I can't emphasize this enough. Dr. Jaffe is an exceptional vet that puts all his heart and soul into the care of his patients. I have an Irish Terrier that has gone through different bouts of issues, and Dr. Jaffe has tended to him with the utmost of care, including telling me not to waste my money and ramp up a million test (my previous vet always ran battery of tests prior to it being necessary and I continuously walked out w/tabs in excess of a grand). Once my dog swallowed a bunch of medication on a Sat nite. My babysitter called me to tell me and we immediately got Dr. Jaffe on the phone to deal with the potential hazard. He spent nearly an hour with us evaluating the cirumstance. In the end, my dog was fine. Dr. Jaffe checked in on that Sunday, and again on the Monday. Not even my own Internest is that accessible or compassionate!!! Hats off to Dr. Jaffe....

SUPERIOR to any other vet we've seen

by Debby C.

I have been taking my two poodles to Dr. Jaffe for almost 6 years. Even though there are many capable vets in the city, and on Capitol Hill where we live, I drive almost an hour to see Dr. Jaffe and his warm, welcoming, and deeply sincere staff. We always look forward to our visits because we know we'll be visiting FRIENDS, who, lucky for me, share my love for all things furry, and are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and generous with their time. WE LOVE MONTGOMERY ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! There is no where else to take your pet!

Humans and Animals treated with Respect!

by Lynne L.

I have happily been the human to a 14 year old poodle, since one( or maybe both) of us was rescued 13 years ago. I moved to Rockville, MD 6 years ago and found MAH at that time. The doctors and staff have been wonderful to the human and the poodle!! One doctor reopened the office on a SUNDAY to give the poodle a pain reliever. That was dedication, not only to the pet, but from the very upset human on the other end of the phone when I called and left a message.

When Adam Jaffee became our primary Vet, he was professional, kind, sensitive, and very knowledgeable. The front office staff has always been and continues to be very helpful.

I wish there were human doctors who were as helpful as Dr. Adam Jaffee. I can't recommend Montgomery Animal Hospital any more highly.

Thank you!!

Only one Dr Jaffe-Montgomery Animal Hospital

by Valerie M.

Give Dr Jaffe five stars in my book. I have been going to MAH for 36 years. Since the partnership started.I have taken my dogs and my children's dogs there. 18 have been treated there. In dog sitting for my children I have gone to other vets where their dogs had a history. I was able to view different attitudes and treatments from these experiences. I have not found the same personal interaction and professionalism from other vets. Dr Jaffe is knowledgeable even with unusual diseases, is proactive to obtain life saving results

If you want quality and compassionate care than Montgomery Animal Hospital is the ONLY place to go. If you want your pet to receive the BEST treatment in the area, Montgomery Animal Hospital is the ONLY place to go. My dog was diagnosed with cushings disease a few years back and the vet I was seeing at the time wrote her off and said she would not live more than 6 months. 3 years later thanks to Dr. Jaffe and his wonderful staff she is doing GREAT and he has hope for her. He is always straight up with you and looks outside the box. Thank God for Dr. Jaffe and his staff.

A Teacups thoughts

by Chelsea T.

Hi, I'm Chelsea. I am a Teacup Yorkie that was a gift from a pet store in NY that didn't keep their inventory in very good condition. When my mommy got me she was concerned because she thought I seemed too tired and like I was not feeling well. She called Dr. Jaffe and he was fully booked, but stayed open so he could see me. Its a good thing he did! I weighed 1.5lbs at the time and I had a respitory problem that I could have died from, especially since I am so tiny. After I recovered from that, I was playful and I jumped out of my mommy's arms and broke my leg. He put a pretty pink cast on it. I don't like going to the doctor (who does) but Dr. Jaffe and his staff are always so nice to me and he has saved my life twice! I love you Dr. Jaffe. Thanks for everything. Love Chelsea

There is only one Dr. Jaffe

by valerie m.

My family has been going to MAH for over 35 years and have had an untold number of dogs during this time; we currently have 15 within our family. We began going there when the original partners ran the business. As they individually retired and new veterinarians came into the business, my heart sank. It wasn't possible for them to find replacements with the level of expertise, professionalism and personal interaction I had experienced in the past. How wrong I was; Dr. Jaffe is amazing. He's extremely dedicated to his profession in every way. Not only does he have incredible knowledge and expertise, he stays current with clinical studies, theories and developments in his profession through continual research. He has taken a personal interest in each one of my dogs and knows them by name, all 8 of them. Two of my dogs have had unusual diseases and Dr. Jaffe approached it as his personal challenge to research the diseases and administer the appropriate initial and ongoing treatment. He is proactive, yet cautious, and goes above and beyond to offer the highest level of care to his customers.

Pure Excellence

by Oliver S.

What more can you say about a staff and Dr. that treat you like you are the only one there that matters. When Dr. J is with you he is with you. When you have questions, his staff is very educated and either answers them, or if they can't they have Dr. J call you back. I would never trust anyone else with my care.

Puppy Love

by Kani H.

Dr. Jaffe and his staff have cared for my 2 puppies since I got them. I am someone who worries out about every little thing and I often call his office about once a week. Dr. Jaffe and his staff never make me feel bad for calling and he always gets right on the phone or calls me back that day. He always takes my concerns seriously and if something needs to be done, he gets it done. I would never go anywhere else. Pam, Sharon, Susan, Jimmy and the rest of the front staff are wonderful as is Dr. Jaffe. I highly recommend that if you are searching for a vet and staff that cares you choose Motgomery Animal Hospital! Thank you all for everything!

In a Class of Their Own

by Craig G.

When I moved back from San Diego I had previously been with another vet. That vet was not caring or compassionate towards one of my older dogs that was unfortunatly going to pass. I brought all my dogs to Dr. Jaffe and his staff based on my girlfriends suggestion and they have done nothing but treat me and my pups with the upmost respect. When I am there, my dog is the only one that matters. He and his staff are kind and compassionate and anyone who thinks differently is obviously borderline crazy!! Thank you Dr. Jaffe and you amazing staff for everything.

A World Class Vet and Staff

by Anonymous P. | insider Insider

Dr. Adam Jaffe and his staff have saved 4 of my dogs lives. Anytime there has been an emergency they have taken them right away; even if it means staying open late. He and his staff are always polite and very caring. When Dr. Jaffe left the practice he was formerly with (one that we had been loyal to for many years) to start Montgomery Animal Hospital we followed him there. He is a remarkable vet with a wonderful staff. I would not entrust my 8 dogs and 1 cat with anyone else in the world. This is a staff and Doctor who really care and a gem like that is hard to find!

Montgomery Animal Hospital is the best

by Tyler W.

Montgomery Animal Hospital is a great place and has cared for my lab since he was a pup. They also recently cared for my sister's cat that required a relatively rare and complicated surgery. Dr. Jaffe was amazing at explaining everything to us and helping my sister through a very difficult time. The entire staff is super friendly and helpful and is always very accommodating when we need to schedule an appointment. I would recommend them to anyone I know--they are as good as anyone would want for their pet!

NEVER GO TO MONTGOMERY ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!

by Cheryl H.

We have taken our dog there a few times over the years, and found the service to be mediocre at best. But, we recently went in to have him kenneled there ... and they refused to do so, saying that we have never been there (in other words, they had lost our dog's medical records). We then had another kennel call with our dog's shot records from Montgomery Animal Hospital from a couple of years ago ... still to no avail. They didn't believe us!

Ultimately, Dr. Jaffe himself along with his staff accused me (in front of my young children) of lying about having taken our pet there before. Told me to go home and find my copy of the medical records before they could give me a spot there!!! As though I would create an elaborate tale, just to obtain a spot at their kennel.

Can't speak to the medical service to animals, but their treatment of humans leaves a lot to be desired.

A Happy Client

by Stephanie C.

I have been going to Montgomery Animal Hospital for 21 years and their care is outstanding. I have never had anything but the best results. When Dr. Jaffee arrived at MAH I was concerned not knowing him and having been very comfortable with the previous vets at MAH, but he is one of the best we have ever had. He is helping us through a problem with one of our cats now and he is really encouraging us. When it is time to let one of our cats go, he is there and allows us to spend some private time with our pets to say good-bye. That means a lot. Dr. Parrish and Dr. Mulford also give excellent care, and the desk staff is as good as you could want anywhere. I need to pick up medicine about once a month and they always have it ready for me with no waiting after I call it in.

THE BEST

by Dawn S.

What to say about Montgomery Animal Hospital, Dr's and Staff. The staff try to greet you and your pet by name, they remember you and care about you, they make you feel like part of their family. When I had to put down one of my dogs they actually cried with me, and gave me a TRUE hug. The Dr's are warm, bubbly and knowledgeable. If they don't know something they try to get the answer from other resources. They care about you and try to keep the financial burden down. Dr. Jaffe saved the life of my middle baby with surgery, I couldn't afford everything so he took payments, cause I wanted to save her. Dr Jaffe and Dr Parrish do dental's, operate (spay/neuters, growth removals etc.) They do boarding in the facility so if the pet gets sick they can take care right then. They have a great location and free parking. They have a kennel staff who spoil your pets. It really is the best place I feel if they can't be with you. I can get medicines and food for my babies all right there. I hope they never leave.

UNBELIEVEABLE VETS!!!

by Sharon H.

I am SO thankful that we found MONTGOMERY ANIMAL HOSPITAL for the care of our pets... The vets at MAH are caring, considerate, understanding and passionate... But most of all, they are knowledgeable!!!We have 2 dogs... As with everyone who has pets... They are a VERY important part of our family... We would not trust them to just anyone... So when we searched for a vet for our pets... We did so very carefully... We are so thankful that we ended up at MAH... We have had the pleasure of using both Dr. Jaffe and Dr. Parrish...Our pets have ALWAYS received phenomenal care... When at MAH... You are always made to feel as though you are very important to them... I would highly recommend MAH to ANYONE that has pets... If you are looking for a GREAT vet... They are TOP NOTCH...

Compassionate Care

by Dina A.

What I love about Dr. Jaffe is he thinks of our dog as we do and as if our dog were his own. He puts our dogs best interest at heart from the initial phone call, to the appointment, to the follow-up. He takes the time to explain, in detail, exactly what is happening and what options are available if there are any issues. He makes you feel comfortable and doesn't rush you out the door. We have used other vets in the past, and I have to say that Dr. Jaffe is the best! Dr. Jaffe and the staff are warm and welcoming and most definitely caring and compassionate. Above all, they make sure that your pet is the number one focus through-out your visit.

Exceptional Animal Hospital

by andrea c.

Montgomery Animal Hospital gets 5 stars in my book! Dr. Jaffe takes care of our 16 month old Rottie-Lab mix. He is knowledgeable and thorough, and has an excellent bedside manner with both animals and their owners. How many vets would give a same day appointment for a dog who "just wasn't acting like herself" and after testing for obvious causes, observe her for an afternoon to make sure he wasn't missing something? (There was absolutely nothing wrong with her) The office staff is friendly and personable, and take a genuine interest in your pet. Messages are returned promptly, appointments are readily available and the facility is always clean.

Quality Care

by Diane G.

I have been very pleased with the care my pets have received at Montgomery Animal Hospital. Our previous doctor diagnosed our cat with a thyroid condition and told us it could only be treated with a very expensive procedure using a Radioiodine injection. I had heard good things about Montgomery Animal Hospital so I made an appointment. The doctor discovered that there were some unnecessary tests performed at our previous clinic and that the thyroid condition could easily be managed with anti-thyroid drugs, saving us money. They also have a small animal doctor who can keep an eye on our family guinea pig!

Great Animal Hospital

by Pam K.

What can I say... they are the best! Dr. Jaffe and the rest of the staff are wonderful. Dr. Jaffe takes care of our elderly German Shepherd and the German Shepherd puppy we purchased last year. We couldn't be happier. Every visit has been wonderful from the front desk staff that answers the phone and greets you on arrival to the technicians and doctors who always take time to explain (in layman's terms) your dog's health. We have found the doctors to be very knowledgeable regarding breed specific diseases and conditions and Dr. Jaffe even took the time to educate us and give us specific questions to ask breeders when we were looking for our new puppy. If you are looking for great customer service and vets you can trust, this is the practice for you.

Amazing Practice

by Anonymous

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Jaffe and Dr. Parrish for almost 4 years now and I have nothing but great things to say. They are kind, courteous, and caring. They treat me and my concerns as much as they take care of my 2 dogs. They are always cognizant that cost is a factor in my life, but if a procedure or labwork is necessary they are very upfront with letting me know. Therefore, when they recommend something, I trust that they are doing it for all the right reasons. I cannot thank them or their staff enough for all that they do for me and my animals.

Beware!

by Lisa C.

Words cannot desribe how thankful I am to be able to tell my story. It began by me calling ahead on a Saturday to go pick up food. One of the desk clerks knew I would be cutting it close to make their 3:00 closing time. I was there at 3:00 on the dot. Not only would the staff not unlock the door for me when they saw me standing in the rain trying to pick up the food, they also conveniently erased the 2 messages I left before the vets got to hear them. Did I mention this was to be my FREE bag of food you get after purchasing 10 bags worth? Could they not just have set it out on the porch for me? I guess that would have been asking too much. But wait - it gets MUCH better......About a year ago we found a lump/mass in my female dog's lower abdomen. It was in her mammary gland and we were told to "wait and see"....I saw the doctors there many many more times after that (check ups, vaccinations) and they just checked it again and because it "hadn't changed in size" told me it was probably benign. Upon the "calling ahead for food and still getting the door locked in my face" incident I got fed up with our care there and then went to another vet. I needed to schedule a teeth cleaning for her. The new vet upon the first visit gave her an initial check-up and immediately found the mass and asked why in the world it hadn't been removed. I told him the story of the vets at MAH. He said that wouldn't do and scheduled surgery for the next week. We are now in our 2nd round of chemotherapy and she is doing great despite the circumstances. She was diagnosed with mammary gland adenocarcinoma. Every vet, vet tech, oncologist, surgeon.... we have come in contact with cannot believe that the vets at MAH did not insist we get the lump removed. Had I been told the severity of the situation I would have had the surgery scheduled the next day, but we were told not to worry about it. The guilt that I have is so tremendous I can barely even talk about it. Thank God for the rudeness of the staff at MAH. Without that, I probably would never have gotten my dog to a qualified vet.

Wonderful practice!

by Ken E.

We have been bringing our dogs to Montgomery Animal Hospital for 6 and a half years. The doctors and staff have always been courteous, efficient, and extremely kind to us and our dogs. They always remember what our dogs have been seen for and what special sensitivities they might have. Their diagnoses and protocols are always carefully explained, and without any dismissivenemss or condescension that one sometines find in medical practices (both human and animal).

I cannot recommend this practice enough. Our dogs have been in for emergencies, major surgeries, and of course routine care and check-ups, and the care and commitment that Drs. Jaffe, Parrish, Foster, and Mulford and all of the vet techs and office staff have always shown is very hard to find and a pleasure to see.

Excellent Customer Service and Care for Animals!!

by Becky W.

I have two dachshunds and I foster care for dogs that come from various animal control facilities. The team of professionals at Montgomery Animal Hospital ARE ALWAYS caring, reliable, and have proactive technical advice and remedies for these animals ailments. This Animal Hospital has the BEST technicians and front desk support staff that I have ever interacted with for Vet Services. The Vet, Adam Jaffe, DVM, is very caring, honest and has excellent follow up skills. He is both smart and proactive and trustworthy. I recommend this Vet Hospital highly.

Expertise and Focus

by Mary E.

We have been with this vet for five years and they are knowledgeable, flexible and really know their stuff. The key advantages of their practice are that they really know your animal's history and remember what happened before, so all treatment is given in context. It is a huge pleasure to have the vet come in to the examination room knowing as much about the dog's history as you do! Dr. Jaffe is incredibly knowledgeable but appropriately careful in his animal care -- he's not just out to sell the most expensive treatment like some vets are. Dr. Jaffe and Dr. Parrish will both explain the treatment to you in a non-condescending way. They are kind-hearted and warm, as are the staff.

If you have ever felt that your animal was just one of many in a huge practice, I strongly recommend going to Montgomery Animal Hospital. Likewise, if you want a vet who really keeps up with the latest treatments without "experimenting" on your dog, I'd suggest going to Montgomery Animal Hospital.

PROS: knowledgeable, warm, caring, experts
