Beltway Garage Doors

My first interaction with this company was okay, but it quickly went down hill when I request a call-back when the door wasn't working properly a week after their initial repair. When the technician arrived, he immediately started giving me attitude and was extremely rude. He said he had noted several other things wrong with my door on the first service call and that I should have replaced the door, not repaired it. This was different from the conversation I recalled where he said that repairing the door would make it last a couple more years, but eventually it needed to be replaced. Long story short, he said he "adjusted" the door, but when I left the house it still didn't work right. I called the main office and they stated they would send another technician, but so far no one has contacted me.

The technician was so rude and belligerent that I told him to just leave at one point and went inside and locked the doors!

had this co replace my garage door they replaced the
door with a insulated steel door that works silently. Now my entire house keeps warm because the garage has never been weather tight thank you Beltway Doors

I should have read these reviews before I recently purchased my garage doors. For five days straight, I was advised by one of the most rude and unprofessional females I ever have done business with (common factor with all these reviews) that someone would call me to fix the doors which are still under warranty. Well you guessed it, no one at all called. On the 5th day when I called them back to find out why I didn't receive a call, she put an individual on the phone who stated he was a "technician" but in reality was someone in the company who I have dealt with since I remembered his voice. When I explained my problem, he told me to basically live with it and its not a problem to worry about (the door was definitely malfunctioning to the point where we couldn't use it). When I told him that this wasn't acceptable, he told me "F--K You" and hung up. Please do research and buy from some other company in the metropolitan area! My battle with them has just begun!

I bought a garage door from this outfit in August. All was fine untiul this week when I had a problem with it, and tried to call their DC location to get service. Whoever was taking calls was rude and proceeded to tell me they dont service DC anymore and to look in the "yellow-pages" for help then hung up on me. Whats even more comical is if you go to their web site, www.beltwaydoors.com, regardless if you call another location, all calls go back to the same individual who hangs up on you, again. (Unfortunately for them, I am now in touch with LIFTMASTER's parent companies' CEO to handle accordingly. Stay away from this outfit.

It has taken six months to finally get the new garage door we purchased from Beltway Garage Doors working correctly. We learned that the person who sold us the door also installed the door. That would be fine if he knew how to handle installation. Not only did he leave us with a door that did not work properly, he also left a smoldering fire in our pine isle. He did this twice. We reported this to the owner, advised her that we placed a "hold" on our second and last payment, and requested that someone responsible come out and correct the work. She said that they would order another panel and someone else would come out. After another follow-up call, I was told that the panel was in and someone would be out on Friday of that week. Friday came and no one showed.
All of the information already posted about this company and filed with the Better Business Bureau is exactly what we found. They are not well organized, make commitments that they never keep, have been rude over the telephone, many no shows without any customer contact. Full of excuses... the panel did not come in like they thought, then the wrong color panel came in and they had to reorder, the truck broke down, we were too busy so the person scheduled for our repair was pulled off to handle something else, it just goes on and on. After numerous contacts with the owner over a six month period, the door is working. We wonder if this would be the end result if we had not put a hold on the second half of the bill.

"I had a terrible experiece with these guys...missed appointments, rude service, no return calls. The office manager, who I am told is also the owner of the business, went out of her way to be aggressively rude. Her explanation for not showing up on several occasions was were busy. She actually hung up on me at one point. Ive since learned that: -- Beltway Garage Doors has had 21 complaints processed by the Better Business Bureau in the last three years. Beltway Garage Doors failed to respond to the vast majority of these complaints. -- Their corporate charter was revoked by DC in 1994. -- Neither Virginia nor Maryland has a corporate registration on file for Beltway Garage Doors (although they may be registered under another name). Ultimately, we called Academy Door & Control who resolved the issue in a day or two and charged $200 less then we were quoted by Beltway. "

Over a year ago, they installed all new springs & cables, having recommended that since one was broken, it was advisable to do both doors.

The cable on one side is now broken. Last Thursday, they promised that their man would call Friday at 10:30 sharp to say what time he was coming on Friday. No call, no show. At 1:00 pm I called them again. They gave me some song and dance about having someone call in sick, but said to please remain at home- he would come even if it was late.

No call. No show.

On Saturday morning, someone left me a message to call them back. I did. They said that they would be there some time that day and that the repairman would call me shortly to say when. No call. No show.

That is two days of waiting for these people wasted. When I called this morning, the answering service told me that they never get in before 9:30 or 10:00 am, and were unable to give me any name of any responsible person.

Nobody at this business gives a damn about wasting people's time. I would stay away from them. If I find someone more reliable, I will post the information

Beltway Garage Doors scheduled a repair on my door in Columbia, MD. I gave them my credit card number so they could proceed without further authorization. I left the side door to garage open for them so they could come anytime that day. They never showed up and when I called I was put on hold for so long I hung up and called again. This went on for several tries. Finally someone found time to speak with me. They said they were trying to get in touch with their workers whom they could not locate, and would call me back. They never did. When I called the next day the said their technician was not coming in that day and I should find someone else to do the work. There was no apology for leaving me stranded with a car inside a garage that I could not retrieve. My impression is that they simply do not care. Is there anything worse one can say about a company? Well, one could say their work was inferior, but then...they would have to show up to do it, eh?
