From about 1982 until 2002, every month, at least once a month I ate at this restaurant. I got to know 'Jerry' and his wife and some of their relations, and the staff. Over those years there was not ONCE, NOT ONCE, when I left that restaurant after a meal that I wasn't happy. Those 'Crab Bombs' were unbelievable ! The 'Ramaki' appetizers were great. Over those 20 years I never, ever, had a salad where the lettuce was 'browning' on the edges of the lettuce. I kept thinking, "one of these times I'm going to have something to be displeased about", though I never was. Even when they changed salad dressings at one time, I remeber, Jerry, himself, would bring me a little 'Italian' on the side, if I requested it.
I know things have changed now, when I was back in Bowie in 2009 I learned that there are now two other locations and that Jerry's extended family are carrying on the tradition of serving superb seafood dishes. Since I moved to the Midwest in 2003, whenever I come back to Bowie for a visit "Jerry's" is still on the top of my list for seafood. To the family member's of Jerry's Seafood Restaurant, pass along my regards to Jerry G. Sincerely, Jerry-D

Pros: Every item on the menu!

Cons: Having to wait outside in the winter!

Not being a Maryland native, I have had to learn just what a good crabcake is. I have had crabcakes that were made from special crabmeat, claw crabmeat, lump crabmeat, and jumbo lumb crab meat, not to mention the abominable krabmeat (notice the K), which is actually made from fish. Anyway, after years of experimenting with the many different kinds of crabmeat and countless encounters with restaurants claiming to have "Maryland's BEST CRABCAKES" I have found the "Holy Grail" when it comes to crabcakes. Jerry's is a restaurant located in Lanham Seabrook, Maryland. Jerry's is not exactly where you would look to find a restaurant of this caliber. It is actually in an out of the way strip mall. The restaurant doesn't stand out with a lot of signs and neon. I think that word of mouth has served as Jerry's beacon more than any sign or neon could. Now to the food... If you are lucky enough to be seated before the lunch rush take the time to loosen your belt. You wil be in for a wonderful surprise. There is a crab soup that will knock your socks off. The soup has a cream base, with a mild infusion of curry. The soup is topped off with a generous helping of wonderful, jumbo lump crab. Then there are the Crab Bombs. The Crab Bomb is a fist sized crabcake made of Jumbo Lump Crabmeat. There is virtually no filler. The Crab Bomb comes in a firecracker variety for those of you that want your crabcakes to have more bite. The side salad has to be accompanied by Jerry's Bleu Cheese dressing which has huge lumps of real bleu cheese. There is also a way fabulous Seafood Platter that seems to never, ever end. Then there is Jerry. Jerry is the owner and founder of this family owned and operated establishment. Jerry will sometimes meet and greet you at the door and if there is a line Jerry or someone in the family will offer an appetizer sample while you are waiting. Ask to see the kitchen if they are not busy, jerry will give you a personal tour. Great place!

PROS: Awesome crabcakes.
CONS: Needs more locations.
