Dorsey's Towing

I see people still don't take responsibility for their actions. Dorseys Towing is doing a service for all the property and business owners that have cars parked in their spaces that should not be there. If you park on private property, in a reserved space, in a permit only parking lot that you have not paid a dime for, in a shopping center that you are not shopping at, leave your broken down car at a business because you are too cheap (or stupid) to have it towed to a repair shop to be fixed, then you get what you deserve. Why don't you look in the mirror and realize that the reason your car was towed is because of what is reflecting back at you!!
I see many words in these reviews such as "embarrassed", "poor character", "disgrace" , etc..
These words should be directed at the people writing these negative reviews, not the towing company. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DORSEYS

Mr. Amorielle of Dorsey's Towing towed my vehicle illegally. The police agreed with me. If you have been towed (by anyone in Frederick City) please read the Frederick City Towing Ordinance. The ordiance is very, very clear on procedures the tower must follow. Please contact the police department if you even question that your tow operator did not follow the ordinance precisely.

I too believe that Dorsey's company is one of poor character and a disgrace to the Frederick community. Legalized extortion sums it up perfectly. Aren't there regulations to prevent towing companies from charging such astronomical fees? To Dorsey's Towing - If you care enough to read this... "You should be embarrassed"

Sounds like all these complaints come from people that were towed because they parked where they should not have. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions. Blaming the tow company because you got caught is just stupid. Read the signs at the parking lots and stop thinking rules don't apply to you.Dorseys does an excellent job with private parking enforcement, that is why they are contracted by so many HOA's and private lot owners. And a note to Tony F...the damage you show in the picture looks to be many years old. Maybe you should stop hitting parking lot curbs. Oh, but I forgot....blame the towing company.

Predatory Towing is the best description of their practices. I was unloading my car for my daughters wedding and was in an almost empty parking lot next to the Delaplaine Visual Arts Center for 15 or 20 minutes, came back to take her to get her hair done and my car was gone. Construction workers nearby said it was just towed and the truck tore out of the parking lot. Not only that, but their 200 dollar fee is way out of line even with Washington DC rates.
They also damaged the underside of my car by dragging it across the gravel parking lot. Paint was scrapped off and a piece of plastic was broken off by their careless driver. When confronted by these facts they claim they did not do the damage and are careful. They only lifted it off the ground an inch, no wonder it dragged as the rocks, ruts and holes are a few inches or more deep on the parking lot and not even considering the sidewalk apron. They also said they towed it by the front. That is a load of bull, since the vehicle was parked front in and against a curb in the front. They dragged it out and left the tire drag marks in the gravel where they did so. After by confronted with this fact Mike who wouldnt give a last name said Id have to call my insurance company and they would call him and get his name. If you screw up, admit it like a man, Mike.

Dorsey's company is one of poor character, a disgrace to the Frederick community. They practice predatory towing, taking advantage of people in vulnerable situations and charging them outrageous fees. It's legalized extortion.

I was present at the incident in the Delaplaine parking lot, described by Nicole D. The tow truck driver was entirely in the wrong, and showed no remorse. In the future, I will not hire Dorsey's and I also will avoid doing business with companies which have contracts with them.

I left my car in the Delaplaine lot for as long as it took to go inside and get the pass for my car. As I was coming out the door, I saw that my car had been pushed back and and a tow truck was 40 feet away and stopped, getting ready to back up to hook. I took off running to get his attention. He FLOORED his truck to back up as fast as possible so he could hook up before I got to him. In the process of flying backwards HE ALMOST HIT MY YOUNG DAUGHTER and another car that was coming into the lot. Two women chose to stand in front of his truck to stall for the police to arrive in regards to his reckless behavior. He attempted to get them out of the way by rolling forward.

Do not ever use this towing company. They are a bunch of CROOKS, especially Mike, the owner. BEWARE. They seem to think that they are above the law and can charge any price they want.

First off to the previous writer. Your lack of respect for the english language and grammar in general is frightening. Dorsey's Towing is a rip off and I'm seriously considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over their ridiculous prices. My girlfriend got towed after leaving her car at a local establishment for a few hrs and they charged her $225 to take it a little over a mile. Secondly, it's against the law to threaten a person with a higher fee for complaining; furthermore they don't have a right to charge anything they want for towing a vehicle. There's this little thing called operating in good faith and as a provider of services this business is held to the same standard as everyone else who is granted a license. Not even tow companies in DC charge what these people do - completely ridiculous.

Well I am very happy with dorsey's the towing bussiness is a rough business. As far as Mike being rude you get what you give!!! Mike is a person too knowing that towing your car is going to make you angrey but the rules are simple READ POSTED SIGNS AND NO THE RULES!!!! That is a very easy task must of us seem to forget and when they are reminded of there irresponsibility they want to get mad and start saying things that dont need to be said then call the tow truck driver and A@@@hole!!! Not cool

The tow truck guy named Mike told me he can charge whatever he wants, says there isn't a cap in Frederick, MD. He was very irrogoant, rude, obnoxious and charged $175 to go one mile!!!! I called the towing office to complain and the girl was also very rude and said if I didn't stop complaining she would charge me $375!!!!!

drivers are rude and inconsiderate. No reguard for adbandoning the owner of car and young child. Not allowing owner use of his cell phone to call for help and money. Only accepts cash.

Dorsey's towing really got me out of a jam recently. I was waiting for AAA to come by, but after waiting out in the cold for over 2 hours, I asked a friend of mine to call around and get a tow truck out to me. She picked Dorsey's and I couldn't be more thankful to them. Not only did they tow me to the nearest shop, they also worked with AAA to get refunded. They didn't charge me a cent. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a great towing company.
