Well, first of all let me start by saying I have never written a review about a company before. I feel compelled to write this review now because of the absolutely terrible customer service I just received when speaking to the woman who answered the phone at Hearn Insulation.
I'm seriously shocked! This woman, who I believe is named Shirley, has issues. She seemed pleasant at first, but it became apparent within moments that I was dealing with a nutcase.
I'm in the process of contacting different insulation contractors in an attempt to find the best price for the best product. My normal questions are:
"How much do you charge per square foot for blown in insulation"
"What product or manufacturer does your company usually use"
After asking this woman how much the company charges per square foot her reply was, "I can't tell you that, only an estimator can." WHAT? (she didn't know something as simple as the company's basic rate for blown in insulation? Every other company gladly provided this info)
My reply was, "Okay mam, you don't know the price per square foot."
HER "NO! Like I said, only an estimator can tell you that and he has to take measurements first!"
I tell her, "Calm down, it's really not that serious."
I'm thinking at this point, is this lady serious. What a joke...
"Well mam, I can tell you my attic space is approximately 2,000 square feet, but the measurements don't exactly matter. I'm not trying to get an estimate for the entire job, I just want to know how much per square foot, then I can do the math."
She's outraged at this point because she's obviously of a subpar intellect and feels overwhelmed, yet I'm still trying to be tactful and not laugh at her ridiculous behavior.
I say, "Okay mam, well may I speak with an estimator then, since they're the only ones who know the price."
SHES HEATED BEYOND THE POINT OF RETURN NOW
"NOOOO! I'm the only one here, there are no estimators here."
I can't take it any more at this point so I say:
"Wow, you have a bad attitude" and hang up.
We had a terrible experience with this company. They put in insulations then installed a ceiling fan. About 9 mos. later, during the heavy rains of a tropical storm, our ceiling started leaking significantly. It took a couple of weeks for them to come out and fix it. Well, that lasted about a year, and it started leaking again. The molding around our attic cracked, and it got our wooden floors wet. This time they were very uncooperative about fixing it. They were vague about the repair, which they did after another three weeks (after many phone calls). The repair man clearly said the leak was due to the fan, but they later sent us a big bill for it! We do not recommend this company for any kind of work such as we had. Plus the last time they made us wait a full day...they showed up 5 hours after the promised time.
