The past three times my roommates and I have ordered delivery from Ratsies, we've dealt with horrible customer service.

The first time I called for delivery I placed my order and simply asked for a total. The manager who answered the phone said they were too busy and hung up the phone. The pizza was late arriving.

The second time: After over an hour of waiting, my roommate called to check on the status of his order (it was only supposed to take ~45 minutes to deliver.) They apparently lost our order and told my roommate they had already delivered the pizza (not so). The manager continued to argue with my roommate, alleged that he (roomie) was not telling the truth, and was generally extremely rude. Our pizza arrived, almost 2 hours LATE. I had to get on the phone and literally yell at this guy (I almost never yell at anyone), just to get an apology.

The third time, just now actually, I called to check on the status of *another* late order. The manager who answered was rude again. "Yea. It's coming out. Bye."

I've never been treated so horribly at any eatery/diner.. An understaffed McDonald's provides better, friendlier service. I'll not be ordering from them again. Three strikes, you're out.

The place is a dive, the guys behind the counter remind me of the Soup Nazi, and the ambiance leave a LOT to be desired. But if you want the best pizza, get it here. I'll be leaving the College Park area soon, and the one place I'll miss is Ratsies. They have a genuine Italian pizza dough that makes for a great crust. And their sauce has all the right flavors in it -- intense tomato flavor. They are generous with the topics (but not overly so). Just ordered two of their pizzas 3 days ago, and today I'm getting two more. (I only do take-out.) Get the x-large. You can freeze what's left over. Reheating slices directly on the rack in a toaster oven is ideal. This is the best pizza I've found in the DC area, and I've been looking for a very long time.

PROS: Great genuine Italian pizza -- fabulous crust and sauce.
CONS: Dive inside and less than friendly help. But it's the food that matters!

Ratsie's is really really dirty. The food generally tastes good but then you hear stories of people getting sick there. They don't use gloves and the place is just wretched. However, they still make some of the best pizza in college park. I wouldn't recommend eating there too often though. Better luck with pap-johns, dominoes or pizza bolis.

PROS: decent pizza
CONS: dirty, slow service
