I used to get takeout about once or twice a month and I we dined there 2 or 3 times a year. I went to the Bamboo House so often (for about fifteen years) simply because the food was great, service was fantastic and the prices were fair.

Very bad no longer authentic Chinese. I don't know where waiters go - hardly anyone in place and waiter goes in the back for long breaks. We joked that they went to grocery store for our food. We got concerned and leave. We went three months ago someone told me they may be close.

We had many good times there. What happened? Place is depressing and empty and waiter was very bad. Manager won't do anything - guess staff is all his family? Imagine taking out of town relatives to a "nice restaurant" and ending up in

We used to go to the Bamboo House all the time. It had been a while (maybe about a year) so we went 8/13. We wanted to relax at the bar and have some appetizers. We each had a couple of drinks and the food came. Then the bartender (Raoul) left. We wanted more drinks (as did others waiting) and he was just gone. 2 more people came in and sat down. Still no bartender. A waiter came through to grab something from the bar and I asked what happened to the bartender. He said he was in the bathroom. I don't begrudge anyone a break but leaving the bar unattended (30 mins in total) was just bad service. By the time he came back we had decided just to leave. We didn't say anything just asked for the check. He gave it to us and we had payment ready to hand him but he had immediately started washing glasses and we had to wait 5 more minutes. We definitely noticed a change in the place - we will not be back.

I see the owner posted rebuttals to the other 3 reviews accusing people of being drunk and cursing and it shows he has no interest in improving the place. I suspect things will not get better. All I can do is not go back there and share my experience. It is a real shame because we had gone there since the 70s!

The bands they hire now are really sub-par....especially that Sugarbeat Band They suck big time.... The band has a pre-recorded background music to which the other musicians have to play along.....The drummer is the leader and he is just arrogant. .....they are sooooo loud it hurts your ears....they all look like they are ready for the retirement home.....
The Bamboo House used to be the place to hang out and dance the night away.... but with these types of bands you just want to leave....evidently they are not paying enough money to get any good dance bands....
Nothing is the same since Joey sold this business....

When Joey Chiu owned the Bamboo House, he was the ultimate host. He knew how to treat his frequent customers with gratitude and appreciation. It was always a pleasure to go to the Bamboo House. Not any more.

So, tonight was St. Patrick's day. We had been enjoying an evening of specials at the Bluestone in Timonium, to include half priced appetizers and wine/beer. We left after being treated like royality and proceeded to the Bamboo House. The crowd was light and a singing drummer was on stage. I ordered a diet coke. After about 20 minutes decided to head for home. The check came and the diet coke was $3.20!!! I coudn't believe it! I figured for that price, I must have bought the glass. IWe left and I took the Diet Coke with me.We were outside and the owner approached me to inform me that I could not have the glass, that the price of $3.20 was because there was entertainment! WHAT!!! He offered to put my diet coke into a cup. Gee, thanks. I declined and gave him the diet coke, which he tossed into the street in front of me, and went back in side. Wow, that was a special feeling. Should have stayed at the Bluestone!

Bottom line, the Bamboo House as we knew it is gone. If you don't mind being treated like a dollar sign, and no customer service consideration, you will love this place. For me, not worth the $3.20 diet coke. What the heck do they charge for drinks? Sit on your wallet.

For over 10 years I enjoyed having lunch and dinner at the Bamboo House. When Joey sold the business to a new owner around November 2008 the quality of personal attention from the waiters dropped lower than Wall Street.in bankruptcy. Here is my last experience eating at the Bamboo House. My wife and myself arrived at 7 P.M. We were seated at 7:02 P.M. The waiter arrived at 7:15 P.M. We ordered drinks that arrived at 7:25 P.M. At 7:25 we placed our food order. Then we waited and waited. At 7:50 P.M. I called the waiter over and asked how much longer before we are served dinner, he said not long. We both ordered another drink. At 7:55 the waiter brought our second round of drinks. Again we waited and waited, 8:15 we still did not receive dinner. At this point we were at the Bamboo House for 1 hour and 15 mintues and were not served dinner. The waiter disappered and we got tired of sitting with no waiter service. We got so discussed with lack of service, we went to the manager paided for the drinks and left, we went home without having dinner.

This is one of those places you would drive right by in a shopping plaza if you didn??t know it was there. You walk in and you a greeted by a large wood carving of animals and a lobster tank full of live lobsters. The place is a nice dim and surround in colors of pink and green. We went for an early meal around 3:00 and were given the lunch menu. I was hoping for the dinner menu according to what I had read- I didn??t feel like asking for the dinner menu and just picked something new to eat (plus it had nice prices). Each table is given a bowl of fried noodles and 2 sauces to munch on as you look over the menu.

We started with pan-fried meat dumplings. They were very good. A lot of times when I get these they can be very greasy but these weren??t.

Then we order a General Tso??s chicken at the lunch price of $7.50 and an order of the Mou Sho Pork at $7.50 lunch price. Since it was the lunch price we were expect a smaller portion that is usually good for one person. However, we were surprised and the portions for the lunch menu were bigger than expected and we shared them and even had left over??s to bring home. Each dish also came with a bowl of fried rice.

The Mou Sho Pork was very good and had a nice ratio or veggies, pork and egg. The pancakes were perfect and not sticky or stale. The plum sauce was decent also. We finished this entire dish.

However, we were a bit disappointed by the General Tso??s chicken. The sauce was good and had a nice kick but it was the meat and coating that wasn??t a big hit. The coating was in a sense mushy- almost like the skin was still on and it hadn??t been fried. You can tell the coating was fried but it didn??t have the normal bit of crunch to it. It was hard to describe the texture of it when you bit into it. The meat was a mixture of light and dark meat. Overall, the flavor was good but not the texture. We had left over??s of this but no one has touched it.

The rice looked very good but when I ate it was disappointing because it lacked the flavor I thought it had because of its color. It was cooked right but the flavor was on the weaker side.

Maybe we are spoiled by Olive & Sesame in Towson and the crunch of their General Tso??s all white meat Chicken.

Excellent Thai restaurant offering meat and vegetarian traditional Thai Food. The best thing about them is whenever I visit them, I don't have problems with family taste variations as I can order medium spicy food for my kids and my husband and I can have spicy food which we love to have most of the times. They have a pretty traditional ethnic interior which makes it a peaceful place to go for food.

This is a great choice! The food is wonderful and service is great. Every time is as good as the last so you never have to worry.

The Sushi bar is perfect to run in to for a quick bite or the table service for a night out!
