Service was great. Chips and salsa were superb. The burrittos were the best we have had since leaving California. The even had a Mariachi duet playing.

We were a little skeptical about eating here given some of the reviews but felt like Mexican, it was getting late and we were in the neighborhood. (we are from out of state and were between dc and our campsite). My husband had the pachanga chimichanga and I had the combo of beef tostada and chicken taco. I ordered cheese quesadillas and a cheese enchilda for the kids. Bottom line...the food was all VERY GOOD and the portions were quite large. Also, staff very friendly and service was good.

Over the past 5 years that I've lived in Odenton I've gone to Pachanga. Last time was about a year ago, and the food was very average. Today I decided to give it another chance. I ordered take out....tortilla soup and fajitas. The cost was $20.00. For that amount of money I got tortilla soup that was so salty that it was inedible, with huge chunks of chicken that were so over cooked that they were stringy. With my fajitas, they forgot to include the side stuff...salsa, sour cream, lettuce, guacamole. When I called they told me to come back in and pick it up! For $20.00?!? Yeah, right. I received THREE tortillas...for $20.00, three strips of chicken, onions and green pepper that were so over cooked that they were little more that a grey mass of nastiness and beef that was SO TOUGH THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHEW!!! Go to Taco Bell for soft taco supremes. Much tastier. Much less expensive. Stay away from this place. Bad reviews=trying to keep numbers down? More like good reviews=employees/owners trying to keep the reviews out of the toilet where they belong!

I hadn't been to Pachanga Grill in several years but always noticed the hip young crowd sitting outside once the weather got warm. I soon learned why they chose to sit outside.

My Wife had the Pachanga Burger and I had the "Texas" Chimichanga. My Wife said her burger was O.K. I won't know for sure until I eat the half she left as my lunch tomorrow. I can tell you that my Chimichanga tasted nothing like any chimachanga I might have eaten during the 12 years I lived in Houston, TX. At best it is a Mexican Interpretation of what TEX-MEX is supposed to taste like - and it was a poor one at that.

Neighborhood wise, I'd rate the (Mexican) food at La Fiesta in Crofton much higher. Also what I like about La Fiesta is that it is usually not filled with poorly behaved children 3 and under. One crowd of about 8 was drinking rather heavily while Mom and Dad took turns holding their little howler trying to keep it quiet. Parents at two nearby tables nearby compared notes on how poorly their children were behaving. The Mom at one of these tables should have been wearing a bra since she and her child were eating out...and not at home.

With the money you could be saving by using PG coupons ( a 2 for 1 with a max of $8.00 or a $5.00 discount for take out), maybe some of these parents could afford a baby sitter while they go out to eat. My other suggestion would be for PG to purchase one of those adjourning office spaces up for rent in their little strip mall and turn it into a dining room for families or for large parties with children.
Then maybe the rest of use could eat in peace.

This is more Tex-Mex than Mexican, so don't expect something different, and you'll be happy. Nice space with plenty of seating, but nice outdoor seating at umbrella tables if you prefer! I love the Texas Chimi -- ask for the cheese on the side because they give you more, and it's great to mix with the rice! They also have a Mexican Pizza on the lunch menu, and they'll make it for dinner if you ask -- it's fantastic! They also have a good mole. Service and quality are consistent, so we keep going back!

stopped in for lunch after many trips by. service was friendly. not too upscale but appropriate for that locale. i ordered the chicken soft tacos and a crab and shrimp quesadilla. quesadilla was awesome. really good. all of the ingrediants were fresh. chicken tacos were a little bland but still nice. i recommend it.

We went there after recommendations from our friends and I have to say that I was not impressed. First the place could use some decorating making it more inviting to customers. It also looks like no maintenance has ever been done and it wouldn't hurt to clean the place either. Food was more on the expensive side and the taste was just average. We rather go to a good (and more authentic) mexican palce than this one.

I am a Pachanga regular for over 10 years and it remains my favorite restaurant, to include over Mike's American, Ruth's Chris and others. Why? Because the service is great, the food is excellent, and the margaritas are superior. For anyone who has left a negative comment on this page, I would swear you were doing so to keep the crowds down just so you can get in when Pachanga is full. But, I remain certain the excellent food will always keep them coming despite your negative comments. I have brought well over 40 different people to this restaurant and none have been disappointed. Pachanga, thank goodness, will remain the hub of everything good in Odenton.

I have live in area for the past 3 years, and have eatin at Pachanga numerous times. The food has always been ok to good, but the service has declined drasticly. If you go and there is a wait double or better yet triple the time the hostess tells you. I have had a couple 30 min waits turn into over a hour. The food is pricey also. We have discovered another Mexican restaurant Los Portalos off aviation rd by the airport that is well worth driving 15 minutes past Pachanga to visit, Great food, Great Service, and the best of all Great prices.

I could not agree more. I cannot understand why people wait in line to eat here. The food is bland and overcooked. The service is not great, and the place is not well maintained. I gave the place a few tries thinking I was probably hitting it at a bad day, but the last time we ate there, we ended up sending everything back. I really love Mexican food, but this place is not for me.

We eat lunch there about once a week. Without fail, the food is excellent. So is the service. Try the Spinach and Artichoke Quesadilla. And I have never had a bad meal there.

I went to this restaurant because a co-worker recommended it. I am mexican and see the lines out the door of this place on the weekend. All I can say is what a disappointment. The food was disgusting. I ordered the beef enchiladas thinking that I could take leftovers home and eat them for breakfast with an egg in the morning, but the food was so bad that I just left it on my plate. The beans tasted like they just opened a can of Goya black beans, barely heated them and put some cheese on them. And the rice tasted like fake rice-a-roni spanish rice. NO FLAVOR. My husband ordered the seafood chimichanga, the shrimp were old, the crab meat was something that looked like it was dredged from the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay. DO NOT GO TO EAT THERE, you will be disappointed. Try Mi Casa in Ellicott City, it is AUTHENTIC mexican food that tastes good.

Reading the reviews we were expecting a wonderful Mexican meal. I guess we should have been more wary when we saw a few other patrons in the place enjoying their CHEESEBURGERS.
The chips and salsa were very good, but the rest of the food...disappointing.
I ordered their house-made sangria, which was tasty, but the fruit was very soft. As if it had been frozen with the ice in the glass. YUCK. I bit into the apple expecting to get a crunch and got smoosh instead. Not good.
My husband ordered the combo fajitas, and while they sounded good, sizzling on the way in to the dining room, they looked pretty bad. It looked as if they had cooked the meat earlier and just reheated it and threw it on top of the onions in the pan. Plus they were way overcooked and dry. The seasonings also looked as if they had just been put on the meat. Again, not good.
I ordered a combo plate with three items.
The pork tamale - wonderful! Delicious, generous and covered with a yummy tomatillo sauce. My bean tostada soft, but edible. At least the corn tortilla was fried in house. The biggest disappointment, however, was the chicken taco. It was served in a PRE-FORMED STALE corn shell, a la Taco Bell. I've never been given a stale shell at Taco Bell however. When I go to a MEXICAN restaurant that isn't something that should ever come out on my plate. They fried the tostada shell, why not the taco. I couldn't even eat it. The chicken didn't even taste good. A Mexican restaurant that can't even produce a tasty, simple taco?
My son's cheese enchilada, off of the children's menu, was cheesy & good. He enjoyed it very much. Maybe we should have all ordered off of the children's menu?
I am very surprised by the many over-the-top positive recommendations on this place. From the mushy fruit, to the bad taco, to the lazy fajitas. It was a bad experience.

We have been eating at Pachangas for 7 years and have never had bad food. Sometimes the service is a little slow but that depends how busy they are. It will get busy on the weekends so get there early. The combo meals are a great deal and not expensive. You get a choice of 2,3, or 4 items to choose from. The food comes out pretty fast. Most weekends also live music. They also offer carry out which you can get in no time. Order it and pick it up in usually 15 minutes. You have try it. We go at least once a week.

Tried here on the recommendation of several people, and it was just awful. Our server, Mary, was the snarky, ticked off waitress that you see in every movie and joke, but it was just terrible and so not funny. She took our order, brought our drinks, and never came back to give us refills, or to ask if our food was all right. We had to go to the bar just to get a glass of water. The food was palatable, but I was expecting some sort of flavor to it. It was bland enough to serve to a hospital patient. I talked to the manager about our service and he said that he would talk to Mary about it. Give me a break! I don't think anyone who reads this is THAT naive. So, if you want blah food, a bad waitress named Mary, and poor resolution from the management then you have found your place!!

Taking recomendations as a newcomer to this area, we went to Pachanga's hoping for good Mexican food and margaritas. Dashed our hopes. The margaritas are bitter, and the food was blah. Our server, Mary, had the attitude from he**. I don't know what was up her Pachanga, but if bad service, bland food, and not-so-good drinks are what this place has to offer then I'm NOT buying.

Since we've moved to this area, we have hoped and prayed to find a good latin restaurant (of any type). The first time we visited the Pachanga Grill, we were delighted. I had the Chimi and my wife some beef dish. We loved it. However, each subsequent visit has led us down the slippery slide to dissatisfaction. Not sure if it is a different cook or what, but the food has been barely edible. This included the chips of all things! We'll give it another shot or two, since there is nothing else around here, and will report if our experience changes for the positive.

I am not sure what the 1st review of this resturant is about. We have eaten here about 12 times since we moved to the area. I am impressed with the quality and selection of the menu. The resturant is always crowded so come early on a Monday - Sat Night. No wait if you get there at 5PM after 5:15 or so be prepared to wait. Good atmosphere for kids.

Try it and you will see. Maybe I should put in a bad review so I don't increase my wait time for a table.

Okay, this is one restaurant I will never go to again and will try to convince family and friends not to either.
I went on a weekday evening when the restaurant was hardly crowded. There was smudges on my silverware and lipstick marks on my glass. After new implements were brought out, there was flecks of dirt or some other matter in my ice water. The food finally came out about 35 minutes later, COLD!
To top it off, there were several strands of long, curly dark hair in my food - not only on the plate. I have straight blonde hair so it could not have been mine. Needless to say, my meal was over. I did not eat and left - ran away!
Every time I drive by and see all the people eating outside I cringe for them.

Great place for mexican food. Good for families but also is somehow fine for a couple on a casual date. Average prices. Is popular and can have long waits at peak times. Friendly staff, most of whom have worked there long term. Mariachi guitar players on weekend nights are a great touch!

I'm a bona-fide mexican and I have to say that the closest (and best) thing next to mexican is the Pechanga! I mean Taco Bell??? That's the worst "mexican" even in my hometown of San Diego. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!!!

Very romantic/ laid back inside or outside the restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, average prices. If you're in the mood for mexican food, fajitas or margaritas, and you don't want a big food chain, this is where you should go. There are deals on buckets of Coronas also. Everyone is very friendly. Parking is great. A little hard to find though, take 32 to 175-towards Odenton, then left on 170 Piney Orchard Parkway, and it's your first left. :)
