Mt Vernon Caterers

With 300 guests and such a large amount of things to do and cover Kim McCain, Owner of Mt. Vernon walked me thru it all. I received so many compliments on the food and service. As you can imagine my agenda was quite complicated with over 20 in my bridal party but Kim and Mt. Vernon were fabulous and did a superb job. I did not have to worry or stress over anything. I am so glad that I chose Mt. Vernon and would recommend them to everyone. We had a seated dinner with double entree tenderloin and a duo of standing shrimp imperial. My guests raved. My mother who does not even like steak ate her entire steak and said she barely needed to cut it with a knife. That is high praise because my mother has very discerning taste and was concerned that steak could not be served well to a group of 300 and be of such high quality. Hot food friendly staff, they made sure everything went off as planned. I have never seen a staff that worked so hard and were so responsive to my guests. Everyone kept saying this was the wedding of the year!

where do i begin, the food was very small portions, it took along time to be served, the chargers were the wrong color, there wasn't enough food for my guests, the owner was rude to several of my family, there was no salt, pepper, sugar or cream, the cake was to be served as a desert, it was not, you had to serve yourself, the person cutting the wedding cake didn't have a cake knife and was not smart enough to dip the regular knife in hot water to get through the fondant so one entire layer of the 4 tier cake was nothing but crumbs, they took many plates and drinks away when people weren't finished eating or drinking because they were in such a hurry, why i don't know, well i could go on, lets just say, i paid a great deal of money for what i had hoped was going to be a 1st. rate wedding and they were not capable of doing that, but they were capable of charging for a 1st. rate wedding, also they do not accept credit cards and it must be paid in full before the event, so you have no chance of retreiving any of your money if you are unhappy with something, the owner didn't even want to here anything i had to say. IS THIS THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS! DO YOU WANT THIS FOR YOUR WEDDING, THE HAPPIEST DAY OF YOU LIFE!

This company offers fantastic food and approached our event with creativity. The only thing we were unhappy with was that the day of the event - they were a bit scatter-brained and did not get all the details right. They certainly made up for it with their food and good service. We give them a thumbs-up!
