I really love the area where they are located. I've been there twice and have mixed impressions. At first me and my friend stopped there for the Sunday brunch, ordered quiche of the day (ham, spinach, bacon, I believe) and it came delicious, thin flaky butter pastry on the bottom and a fluffy, really delicious souffle. It came with the salad, that was really good too - some nuts, cranberries, goat cheese, spring greens - really good combination. For the dessert we ordered sweet crepes, mine was Crepe Suzette and it really wasn't. It was just plain crepe with the orange sauce on top, nothing really special at all. For the crepe Suzette crepes must be sauteed in the butter, orange, rum sauce, not just have plain orange puree poured on top of it. I had to request additional wipped cream and ice cream to add some flavor, otherwise it wasn't enjoyable at all.
The second time I came for lunch with my husband and we ordered soups and my husband ordered calamari salad which was great - perfectly cooked warm calamaris, great dressing. His soup was mushroom and he did not love it, although I tried it and it was ok to my tasting. My french onion soup was far from delicious to me - too thin, no toasts, too much spice, killing all other flavors . I thought that even Panera's french onion was way better than this one. For the second course my husband got a seafood dish which was very good, but mine steak and egg wasn't all that good. My, supposedly medium cooked steak was completely rare inside, it also was very chewy. Strawberry and banana crepe with chocolate sauce was great. All in all I don't have consistent impression with this place. I will probably come back again and try more things. I also loved the European atmosphere of the place, I would say that it's a really pleasant place as long as you like the food.

Ratings_icons Crepe Du Jour -- be there!

See Elizabeth Large in the Baltimore Sun this Sunday, June 14, 2009. Chef Haase has been creating and preparing wonderful dishes for close to two years now. Always a must for great dining at reasonable prices.

Ratings_icons Many changes...

We were frequent diners at Crepe Du Jour. We always ordered specials because the chef's were young and exciting in their combinations from "ribeye with jerk seasoning, red snapper with a peach sweet and sour chutney, to flounder stuffed with crab imoerial with a cajun kick! We have realized that these young chefs have moved on (probably to bigger and better places), but the owner must know and realize he may have destroyed their business with the lackadasial chefs he has hired since his young pair has dispersed. I have been back to Crepe several times now since those young chefs left and have questioned the wait staff to where they had gone so i can frequent those establishments (however, the wait staff had no answer). My wife and I are through with crepe du jour.

Ratings_icons Always Wonderful

I had been meaning to write in for some time now about some of my favorite restaurants and, after reading the recent post for Crepe du Jour, I knew that now was as good a time as any. I have always had an amazing experience at Crepe du Jour. My husband and I frequent the restaurant and just this past Saturday, March 1, we ate there with two other couples. When we go there, we often get
the specials, and we are always pleased. This past weekend, both my husband and his friend had the filet. It was cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. My friend had the lamb chops, and after tasting them, I wished I had ordered
them too. We also managed to find room for dessert (as usual) and are always pleased with the crepe. With so many options to choose from, I always stick to the simplest and have nutella or nutella and bananas. Of clurse, that doesnt stop me from sampling everyone elses! As usual, they were the perfect blend of crispy and smooth. Always a great experience and one I intend on keeping as a regular spot for dinner. I can't wait to eat there again!

Ratings_icons Terrible Service!

Anonymous

The food at Crepe du Jour is just fine, but that cannot possibly make up for the unbelievably bad service! We've eaten here several times and had great experiences, but today was so dismal we will never return again. Our waiter was inept and rude from the very start- cutting people off, rolling his eyes, messing up orders and blaming us for his mistakes. We complained to the manager (and it takes a lot for me to complain) and he actually argued with us instead of hearing us out.
The last time we ate at Crepe du Jour, my husband found a piece of glass in his crepe. Because of the gracious service we received from our waiter on that particular day, we forgot that incident and were enthusiastic about eating there today. We even recommended it to people in our party, with whom we were dining for the first time. How embarrassing for all of us to have had today's experience be at the place we recommended!
Normally, when a gratuity is added to our bill (as it usually is for large parties) one of us comments on how we usually tip far above that amount. Today, the fact that our waiter, who was rude to us from the second we sat down, received an 18% tip is a joke. I have never, in my entire life, anywhere in the world (including Paris itself) had an experience as horrible as this one.
It's very safe to say that if any one of us have a craving for crepes, we'll be visiting Sofi's on Charles Street.

Ratings_icons Yummy

My friend and I sat outside at one of their
sidewalk tables.
They have Crpes both sweet and savory. The place was so cute in Mt. Washington
Village. I
would love to go back when all the lil stores are open and check them out.

I had La Napolon (brie, mushrooms & artichokes) 8.99 plus a fresh brewed tea.
It came
with a some sort of little side salad. My friend had the Crpe Merguez (beef &
lamb sausage,
eggs & cheese) 10.99 and substituted goat cheese for an extra 2.75

It was great and I will go back. The desert crepes sounded to die for!
