I'm not blaming all of Headlines -- I've only had one stylist, Isa. But what they (I'll explain) did to my hair this last Saturday is unforgiveable. I've done better myself -- honestly. I don't know what the problem was -- I'd always gotten good highlights, but I asked to go a little darker -- just a little -- kind of like Blake Lively's hair (I even brought pictures) since he'd been making me super blonde every time. While he was figuring out what to do, the manager lady started intefering, and between the 2 of them, I ended up with dark greyish-brown lowlights (lots of them) on the bottom 2/3 of my hair, brassy blonde roots, and splotches of color around my head. I'm having my color fixed elsewhere and never going back. On top of it, Isa knew I was upset, the manager lady never came by to see how it turned out, and I was practically in tears when I left (no one seemed that concerned).

Like I said, I'm sure it's a good salon -- I'm just not sure about Isa and the interfering manager -- he might be okay at highlights -- he does a great cut and blow dry -- but he is not good for anything remotely more complicated. She must have thought so -- hence the interfering -- but in the end I think she made things worse.

Just for everyone's information out there.... be careful who you get for coloring....

An update:

I got my hair fixed at another salon that specialized in "hair screwups". Plus, I just received a check in the mail from Headlines for a refund for my hair color. Although I called and complained the day it happened (10/25), the manager claims the first she heard about it was reading it here on the internet, hence the 3 week delay. All of that aside, the bottom line is that the salon cared enough about its reputation to try to remediate the situation by giving me a refund. There is definitely something to be said for that, and I truly appreciate it.

Sorry for the pun. Headlines is a very good place to get your hair cut, dyed or styled, and I've done all three. The stylists are knowledgeable and some are specialists in a particular area of hair design. They are up on the trends in hair and are willing to help you know what works best for you. The prices aren't too high, about $50 for a haircut, but there are more reasonable places.
